About this property
Great location! Berk/SF/Oak Full o Art! Renovated!
I tried to capture your imagination, make you smile, laugh, even think! The walls home art collected through decades of creative friendships & travels.
The furnishings recall the 20th century. The bathroom is solidly 21st century - no one wants a "retro" commode!
Lots of Light. Afternoon ocean breeze.
Close to hospitals bus/BART SF, UC Berk
Relax, work. No smokin', except the wifi.
Super clean! COVID safe. Luv pets. EZ street parking. Locked parking and help with pets for a fee.
The space
This freshly renovated one-bedroom apartment is up a colorful custom designed stairwell. Keith Haring's interpretation of the Mona Lisa rewards you at the top. The apartment is split level with the bedroom and bathroom on the first level and a combined open kitchen/living room area up five stairs. This creates a good sense of privacy between the people in the bedroom and the living room.
There is lots of light and plenty of room for 2-6 people. Two or three max for a comfortable monthly stay.
Pets are welcome. I have a 55 pound purebred Oakland Street dog who loves to play with other dogs.
Your pets are welcome and I can care for or look in on your pets for a service fee.
The apartment is entered through a locked gate. It is up a flight of stairs within this unit.
Wifi is strong and consistent. There is a desk workspace in the bedroom and the kitchen table provides a second work space.
I hope you will enjoy the wonderful art in the apartment. All of it is by people I have known. Feel free to ask me about the stories behind each piece.
Front yard has places to sit and enjoy the sunshine and a coffee. Earthly Coffee Cafe is around the corner on Martin Luther King, Jr Way.
Street parking is easy and I've found it to be safe. You can also reserve a gated, locked space for a monthly fee.
Laundry on site.
I ask people not to wear shoes in the apartment.
Child (or pet) safety gate for the stairs provided.
Guest access
SF is easily accessible via the bus a few blocks away, BART which is a mile away (Ashby or MacArthur) and the freeway 20 minutes. 2 miles to UC Berkeley. 3 blocks to Benioff Children's. 2 miles to Alta Bates, Kaiser. 3 miles to Highland. 3 blocks to the bus to SF.
Other things to note
There are people in unit below you. Sound between the units has not been a problem, but I still ask that everyone remain considerate of the fact that others share the building.
Also, I ask that guests remove their shoes in the unit.
