Wake up to hens clucking, goats bleating, and tranquil outdoor space and a sampling of French pastries and sweets made fresh by one of the Owners an accredited executive chef. Enjoy this hobby farms fresh eggs, seasonal produce, and gardens. Kick your feet up, enjoy some peace & quiet and relax by your private firepit. Enjoy more than 14 local wineries within 30 minutes of the cottage or a walk thru the arboretum! A perfect way to rejuvenate your soul.

Countless wineries in the vicinity. Located next to historic Turner Farm and Orchard, and The Flower Farm. During the fall months enjoy our pumpkin patch! ***Absolutely no smoking or vaping anywhere on premises.***

So relaxing!

I really loved staying at the green cottage farm! It was so much better than staying in a hotel room. I loved that it is just outside of town, and I was able to see the stars at night and eat breakfast outside while watching the sun rise. Every detail inside is so cute and comfy. The homemade baked goods they left were so yummy, and just another sweet touch. The only things to think about if you are considering staying is... 1. Are you someone who is sensitive to fragrances? I am, and the scent inside was very strong. Good scents, but super strong. I was okay with it after unplugging the two things that were putting the scents into the air, but it was still pretty strong. 2. Do you need complete darkness while you sleep? I really like it to be very dark, and they do have blinds in the bedroom, which help. I would have preferred curtains on top of the blinds. Also, there is something they have in the living room area with lights that is not supposed to be adjusted, and light from this can be seen in the bedroom. Everything else was really great, and I would definitely recommend staying there.

Another perfect visit

This is our 5th time staying at Green Cottage and again it was a wonderful experience. The pictures on the website do not do this cute cottage justice. Sparkling clean, beautifully decorated in a country theme. Very quiet on a farm road. The hosts are top notch.

Perfect place to unwind and relax!

This charming cottage is the perfect place to unwind and relax! The inside is super comfortable, with lots of plants and farmhouse decor! The outside includes the most adorable baby goats! On top of that, the hosts are terrific - definitely went above and beyond to ensure a wonderful stay!! Highly recommend this cottage for a long weekend stay in Kansas!

Absolutely peaceful

The property is clean and quaint. The decor is beautiful and peaceful. There are many plants in the home homemade muffins were a great touch along with farm eggs and pickles. The host were very sweet and helpful and even put rose petals on the bed for Valentine’s Day. It was very cold and we were not there for the farm aspect of the day as we are from a farm ourselves, but truly enjoyed the out-of-the-way location and wonderful amenities.

Perfect Couples Retreat

My husband and I had an awesome time here. Lots of homey ammenities that provided a cozy, quiet time to unwind and reconnect. Super close to Olathe, but with a rural atmosphere. The host left us delicious homemade muffins and lots of coffee options to choose from. There was even the cutest little goat who was super friendly and welcomed chin scratches. We would absolutely book this cottage again.

Cottage get away

A beautiful cottage fully equipped. Every detail is perfect. It was decorated for Christmas already and just added to the charm. The beautifully decorated cookies were amazing! Highly recommend this place for a get away.

Another nice stay at Green Cottage

This may have been our 4th stay at Green Cottage and everything again was perfect. It is so well furnished and decorated and very quiet and comfortable. The host makes wonderful baked goods for us each visit. We are so happy to have this wonderful place to stay when we visit Kansas.

Peaceful Getaway

Once again, my stay at the Green Cottage was perfection. The fall accents were so welcoming (along with the usual baked goods and warm lighting!), and it was the MOST IDEAL place for a reading retreat and break from reality. It's secluded enough to get the sense of farm life, but close enough to enjoy some Kansas City area amenities at the same time. MANY THANKS, I will be returning again and again!

The PERFECT Getaway

Everything about our stay was stellar! From the super-welcoming ambiance to all the special “little” details, I cannot recommend this property (and owners!) enough. We had a sense of home with candles, baked goods, cards/games, coffee, and so much more. We are already looking at calendars to plan our next stay in Gardner!

Another wonderful stay at the Green Cottage

This was our 4th time staying with these hosts and everytime I think things are better. The small house is beautifully decorated and the hostess is a superb baker who always provides incredible pastries for us to enjoy. This is on a small farm and the first time we have been there in the summer. The flowers and gardens are gorgeous. Another wonderful experience.

The perfect couple's getaway!

I'm hesitant to share how wonderful this Green Cottage is for a couple's getaway because it may mean it will be hard to find an open booking date in the future! First, the quaint setting of Green Cottage tucked in a quiet area next to a hobby farm is immediately relaxing. I even got to pet a baby goat, and was offered the opportunity to bottle-feed him! Second, the accommodations are finely decorated in the farm cottage style with touches that give it a spa-like feel with the luxury bath sheets and bedding, nature-inspired soaps and lotions, and even bath slippers. Third, the kitchen was designed and stocked by an accredited chef who is also the host. She provided freshly baked French pastries for our entire stay, plenty of fresh farm eggs from her chickens, and spices and cookware to prepare any meal you desire. She will even provide Private Chef services if requested in advance. Wow! Fourth, the hosts are simply kind, wonderful people. Need I say more! I can't fully express the delight of this enchanting little cottage and farmstead. This is by far the best vacation rental we've experienced.

Country Oasis with Style

This property is spacious, very clean, comfortably and attractively furnished. It is beautifully enhanced by a variety of healthy plants. We enjoyed the private outdoor space and the nearby animal enclosure containing chickens and goats of various sizes.

This cottage was EVERYTHING. From the decor to the beautiful cookies that were thoughtfully made for our Anniversary. Which were sooo beautiful and delicious. The little personal touches throughout the home that trully make you feel special. The host even reached out to let us know of things to do in the area. Which we really appreciated. Clean, Green and Relaxing

This was a terrific property for me and my wife during our stay! We especially enjoyed the hammock in the backyard. The four muffins awaiting us in the kitchen were amazingly good, too! There were several nearby places that we visited and enjoyed in Gardner, Kansas (Blazers Restaurant); Overland Park, Kansas (Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens); and Kansas City, Missouri (miniature golf at Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art; jazz musicians at The Blue Room; the National WWI Museum and Memorial; and Union Station). My wife will always remember having the lowest and best score at the miniature golf course!

I am an Air Force fire chief that loves family, food, and our animals! My wife has been a well known credited chef for years and has finally slowed down to play here at our hobby farm. Every year the flowers and garden gets better and having a French chef on the property is a huge perk! Not so much for my midline… 😂

Why they chose this property

We chose this local for its privacy and closeness to the KC metro area. You can easily get to any KC metro event within 35-40 minutes. With so many wineries and restaurants within a 30 minutes drive and an outstanding golf course Sycamore Ridge just down the road, what more could you ask for. My wife and I are members of the Arboretum and go frequently to enjoy their gardens and events or take the dog an a brisk walk on the many trails.

This property is very peaceful and quiet. We give the option of complete privacy or welcome wandering guests around the kitchen garden or helping with animals.
