Galveston Home with a View

This two bedrooms, two full baths beach house was renovated in 2011, three years after Hurricane Ike made landfall in Galveston. The house is perfect for a small family with a large wrap around deck. Located in Palm Beach, one mile walk or drive to Galveston Island State Park, and 7 miles to Walmart, Moody Gardens and Schlitterbahn.

Take sunset walks on the private and clean beach where vehicles are not permitted. A huge deck is available to enjoy the ocean breeze, have a barbeque with friends and family or to just enjoy a full ocean view. This beach house is your perfect beach get a way.

The living area is equipped with a decorative fireplace, TV and DVD player. Two bedrooms has a queen sized bed with a bunk bed and a pulled out bed in an open area right outside the bedrooms.

The house is in a quiet neighborhood at the west end of Galveston Island on the beach side. The wide sand beach is perfect for kids to play on the beach, fly their kites or just to have fun on the sand and for adults to take long beach walk

Age Limit: Minimum Age Limit for Renters: All reservations MUST be made by individuals at the age of 25 or older. Adults cannot rent properties on behalf of underage guests.

Special occasions : Reservations for Special occasions such as birthday parties, family reunions, etc., must be disclosed at the time of booking and prior approval is required. Prom parties, fraternity or sorority parties, graduation parties are not allowed at any time.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellation more than 2 weeks prior to arrival: 100% of deposit and payment refunded.
Hurricane or storm policy: 100% of payment refunded

Post baby vacation

We had a great long weekend at the beach and loved staying at this house! It was close to everything we did and was about a 30 second walk to the beach. Everything was great and the hosts were very trusting which I like! We will definitely be back!

This is one of the hidden gems of the island! Steps from the beach, the views were even better than the listing shows, and the house was a very good layout. The owners were fabulous on communication. We will be back!!

Great family vacation

This property is absolutely perfect! The owners did a great job communicating when I noticed a small problem, the house was very clean, spacious, and comfortable! We will definitely be back!!! 1 warning is the mosquitoes are absolutely horrible when you are on the ground so bring spray.

Excellent location, perfect for a family trip

I stayed here with my husband, 2 kids and mother in law over the 4th of July. The pictures don’t do the house justice! It’s clean, bright, very functional and in an outstanding location for a family trip on the beach. It’s a bit of a drive to the more touristy part of Galveston, with Moody Gardens, Seawall, pleasure pier, etc but it was perfect for what we wanted, which was a quiet, safe area close to the beach. The deck is incredible, breezy, and comfortable. The owner was quick to respond to questions leading up to the trip. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Perfect location! Great getaway

Our family has traveled to Galveston numerous times. A must have for this trip was to have an amazing view of the Gulf with easy access to the beach. This place met this and much more! STEPS from the beach. Amazing views. Comfortable and cozy home. All we needed to getaway and spend downtime with our family. This is perfect for families as you can go back and forth to the beach without ALL the hassle! And no crowded beach! Such a great getaway and just what our spirits needed!

Amazing views

Let me start by saying, the views are AMAZING! The deck is huge and was enjoyed so much while drinking our morning coffee. The house needs some work/updating and a deep clean. There is only one closet in the whole house and it isn’t the master, which was a little odd. It worked for just the 2 of us though. Overall, we enjoyed the stay and the stunning views from the deck.

Wonderful place

We had a great time at this property. The location is perfect, very close to the beach, takes 45 seconds to get on the sand. The deck is huge with wonderful beach view. The house was clean and well maintained, we had everything we needed. The area with trundle bed was great, it serves as extra room for kids. The communication with the owner was extremely easy. We hope to be back again!

Some issues

We had a nice time and especially appreciated the beach views and super close proximity to the beach. There were a number of issues however: the key code provided was incorrect and we had to call for the right number. The “bunk room” did not have three twin beds as advertised— only one twin with a trundle and was not even a proper room as it had no door. The light in that “room” would not turn on without also turning on the fan at high speed. The microwave started sparking when we turned it on, creating a fire hazard. The main front burner of the stove did not work, and there was no toaster oven despite the check out instructions saying to unplug the toaster oven. While the house was clean, it smelled somewhat of pesticide throughout. We had a good time at the beach despite all of these unexpected findings.

Another year, another wonderful stay

I’ve written about this property several times so I’ll make this one brief. The proximity to the water, the cleanliness and home like feel of the property and the the host’s hospitality always make this trip a must to begin our fall. This is our 4th year staying at Palm Beach and we always come away with smiles on our faces and slight sunburns. Highly recommend for families with little kids as proximity to the beach makes for an easy walk and a quick trip back to the house for diaper blow outs or to grab a quick snack. We plan to make next year, year number five here!

Enjoyed the house with wonderful beach views!

The house was great with wonderful views of the beach. Very close to the ocean and it took us about 45 seconds to get to the sand. The house is suited for a small family. Washer and Dryer are located in the hallway and you definitely need to run the laundry during the day as it will be too loud at night. TV & internet service was great. Quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed our stay very much. Communication with the owner was easy and fast. No problems. We plan on coming back.

Just perfect

This is our second time to stay at this property and we love it. The house isn't huge, but it's got fantastic views and is only 1 house away from the beach. The porch is gigantic and everything is well-maintained. We hope to be back again!

Close to beach

Great location and a beautiful deck with nice view. You are just one house away from the beach, but still have a view! For families, there is no bathtub and the bunk beds aren't in a room - so your kids may wake early. Owners are very responsive.

Another one for the books

This is our third time staying at Matthew and Tanya’s beach house. We continue to come back because the property is clean, the location is amazing, and home is wonderful. The house is 100 yards from the water, the views are spectacular and it accommodates our family of 5 with no problem. The owners are continually updating the property (new couch, new fridge, new king bed and new paint job on the exterior) and the home is warm and inviting. We love staying here! Clean, close and cozy

This was our second time renting this home and we just adore everything about it. The hosts are wonderful, the proximity is perfect, it’s quiet; we will continue to come back as long as the owners list it. There’s five of us now, two adults, one child, one toddler and a baby. It is safe and the check in and check out process is a breeze.

We bought this house shortly after Hurricane IKE in 2009. The construction project to renovate this house was long and costly but we absolutely fell in love with our new beach house and would do it again. The neighborhood is quiet and a perfect place to get away from it all.

Why they chose this property

Why did we buy this house? Our initial intention was to help rebuild Galveston after the devastation of Hurricane IKE. The spontaneous decision transformed into a lot of hard work of clean ups, restorations, and rebuildings.

What makes this property unique

This is no doubt a perfect house to get away from it all. Surrounded by the ocean waves and sea breeze. A quiet neighborhood where neighbors take time to wave hello at crossing on the beach or passing by as you are sitting on the deck.
