About this property
Mountain Hideaway within 45 minutes of Asheville! 4x4-AWD required
Relax and rejuvenate at this secluded, picturesque, mountain hideaway! Come enjoy the peace and serenity of the Great Smoky Mountains at this very private house, surrounded only by trees. There are no neighbors, no streets, no sirens, or planes flying overhead. Instead, you'll be serenaded only by the sounds of the wind blowing, birds chirping and, on occasion, donkeys braying.
The house is located in Clyde, just outside of Waynesville, Asheville, Sylva and Maggie Valley.
The kitchen is well equipped and features a large pantry. The counter seating and open floor plan encourage togetherness and allow you to engage in conversation as you prepare and savor meals or snacks. You can cozy up in front of the warmth and glow of the wood-burning fireplace or enjoy the many puzzles, cards or board games available to you. Grab a blanket and recline on the sofa as you catch a good movie on the large screen TV. A half-bath is conveniently located on the main floor.
The large porch features a dining table for 6 and a breathtaking view of the mountains. You’ll definitely want to enjoy a few meals here, then gather at the fire pit down below for smores, hot cocoa or a glass of wine as you gaze at the star filled sky.
Need to get a little work done while vacationing? No problem! There is a desk located in an upstairs bedroom equipped with a comfortable chair, USB ports and an HDMI monitor. Most importantly this house offers very reliable internet access with wi-fi.
Other things to note
The countryside drive is beautiful, and you will likely spot horses, goats and adorable miniature donkeys along the way. Portions of the drive feature steep and rugged terrain, therefore a 4 wheel or AWD (all-wheel drive) is required. Parking notes: There is parking for 2 vehicles at the house and 1 vehicle down the driveway next to well house.
The location is perfect as you can enjoy the local quaint shops and eateries or set out for:
-the Blue Ridge Parkway and all of its hiking trails,
-skiing at Cataloochee ski resort in Maggie Valley,
-white-water rafting on the French Broad River,
-browsing the River Arts District
-breweries and restaurants in Waynesville, Sylva, Maggie Valley, Asheville etc.,
- great biking and nature trails that are also just within minutes of this house.
