Very quiet location, very little movement on the lake by boats or water fowl. The area was large enough for lawn games. We spent 95 percent of our time out doors. The owner was very responsive when questions arise. We loved sitting around the bonfire and looking at the lake
No AC; windows don't work to open and no screens on patio door or front door to let in evening breeze. We four sisters chose the place because it was advertised having 4 spaces to sleep. There is no office with a single bed.
We had a great stay at this cabin! The lake is very quiet and home to delightful loons. However, there is not easy access to the water for swimming, if that is important to you. The bed in the office is a full-size air mattress. There are tables and chairs outside in the front and back, which is great for staying in the shade. As with all lake homes in the summer, do not forget your bug spray. There are lots of spices and containers for storing leftovers and many puzzles that fit perfectly at the dining room table.
We stayed at this property as a family gals fishing trip. Overall we had a great stay. The host Tina was responsive to any questions we had. The home was clean and stocked well with all the items needed to grill, cook, clean and wood for campfires. We did struggle with the keyless entrylock. The listing stated there were 4 beds total but there are only 3 so we were short a sleeping space. It also lists a hot tub which we were excited about but was not there. It looks like there may have been one at some point but maybe the listing just wasn't updated. The lake and view is beautiful but if you plan to do any type of fishing you would need a boat. The water lillies are so thick off of the dock that you just get your line snagged and the water is very dark. There is a small boat provided with oars that we were able to take out onto the water however! Overall, the home and location are great, relaxing... just not ideal for a fishing trip if you don't have a boat.
We absolutely loved the location. It was quiet and peaceful, and just what we needed to escape from everything. It was a short stay and we are so thankful for having our request accepted. The view of the lake from the house is absolutely beautiful. The loons and frogs kept us entertained with their wonderful nature sounds too! We enjoyed fishing with the little flat bottom boat, Willow our golden retriever even went on an excursion with us in that little boat and we had a blast watching her try to figure out the mystery of the disappearing fish when we returned them to the water! We are definitely planning to return again soon!! Steve and Lisa
Absolutely loved staying at this property with my husband, son, parents and our dogs. The property manager was amazing to work with from the beginning. The listing said 2 dogs allowed but I asked if we could bring 3 and she was very accommodating. The house itself is exactly as pictured. Nothing fancy but the beauty of the nature around you is incredible. We would have a bonfire and would listen to the loons and look at the stars. We stayed here and ventured to and from Hayward daily. It was only 15 minutes to town. It was very nice and I would totally rent again! Much better than a big name hotel.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We love the home and the view of the lake. Spent many hours using boats and canoe. Fishing was very good. My son caught his first northern pike. It was more than I could have hoped for for our vacation this year! Thank you, we will be back soon.
The location of the property out in the country on a quite lake was just what we needed for a little getaway.
Traveling with our 80 year old dad who needs a walker and our small dog can be challenging to find a location that will work for our family.
This rambler style lake home was a perfect fit. Having the bedrooms on the main floor made it easy for us to take care of dad and still be able to relax.
We spent many hours just sitting on the patio listening to and watching the birds.
A special sighting was watching an eagle fly over and then seeing its nest across the lake.
If you enjoy bird watching, bring your binoculars for some close up views.
The cities of Hayward and Spooner are not far away if you find you forgot something.
Wonderful place to stay, clean, lots of space. We had some friends and family come out and there was plenty of room for everyone. Kids and dogs loved the lake. Definitely recommend.
The forest surrounded driveway leads you to a beautifully set country home. Welcoming front deck leads you to the front door. The natural lighting from the double doors floods the dining room, living room and kitchen. Stepping out onto the back deck to the sight of the neverending lake is such a majestic sight that can only be understood in person. This house felt like home. Very clean, kitchen well stocked with everything you need to cook a good meal for any occasion. Comfortable furniture throughout the home. My family enjoying using the boats out on the lake. The pool table was great entertainment for us. Wifi had great signal with no issues of lagging or disconnection. This is a great place to disconnect from the world and reconnect with our family.
This property is lovely- room to move inside and out. Nice private cabin with thoughtful touches to make your stay enjoyable. Great location- close to Hayward and water fun on the Namekagon River. Fit my family with room to spare. Super nice owners who are available if needed. And our little dog had a wonderful vacation there too. Thanks Tina- you have a nice place.
