Hocking Hills stay

We had a wonderful time at the little cottage we rented from Mary Beth. It was very nice and cozy and we love the old cemetery down the street. Thanks for everything we loved your little cottage

Girls Weekend

We brought our dogs down to Hocking Hills for a little weekend getaway and some winter hiking and loved our stay in the cabin! Beth is wonderful to communicate with and gave us some really great suggestions for our stay. The cabin was clean and in great shape and the furniture was all so comfortable! It's hard to find a place that allows multiple large dogs and I'm so grateful we found this cabin for our stay! It was perfect!

Perfect place for a weekend with our pups

Really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was clean and cozy. Convenient location with Ash Cave, Old Man’s Cave and Cedar Falls just a short drive away. The beds and futon were comfy and it was nice to have a tub with jets to relax in after a day of hiking. Also we got a nice sunset view from the porch on Saturday evening. The owners were helpful in providing directions and information about the area. Good communication overall throughout the booking process. And a very reasonable pet fee was a big help because we love to travel with our pups. One of the best places we’ve stayed at in Hocking Hills. Perfect for a couple and furry companions, would definitely recommend.

Cozy and comfortable cabin in Hocking Hills

We had an excellent long weekend at this cabin. Everything was immaculately clean upon arrival. The kitchen is really well stocked, we had everything we needed from pans and dishware to foil and baggies. Bed was comfy and the gas fire was cozy in the extreme cold weather. The location is very close to Ash Cave, just a quick drive away. We definitely recommend and hope to return.

Great holiday visit

We stayed here for a holiday trip. It was clean and comfortable. Driving distance to all the hiking was great. The beds were comfortable. Even though it was a pet friendly cabin there were no signs of pet hair. The hosts were great. We would love return in the summer!

First time at Hocking Hills to hike

Our stay was very nice. The cabin is well stocked with items that made it feel like home away from home. The whole process was easy and the communication was top notch. The whirlpool tub made the muscles feel great for round 2 and 3 of hiking. I look forward to staying again in the future.

Gorgeous cosey house and scenery.

Very clean. Had just enough room for us, three kids and two dogs. Beautiful wood work inside, gives it a cabin feel. Surrounded by trees, great for making your own trail. There's also plenty of parks around for hiking with a lot of great scenery. Or if you prefer, the road is pretty quiet. We saw a couple of deer while walking it.

Hockinghills Stay

The cabin would have been really nice. Communication was lacking though and they lost power for part of our stay and don’t have a generator or anything so no running water, power, etc. Host said this seems to happen often so make sure you try to go in a non storm season. Overall very peaceful though and nice cabin.

Awesome private cabin

We wanted a private setting that was not too far from the parks. This place was perfect for us and our dogs. Very quiet area. The cabin is not too far off the road, but only a couple cars passed by our entire stay. The cabin is very nice, well maintained and clean.

Honey Ridge Cabin

We had a very enjoyable couple of days away. This cottage was perfect for the 2 of us and our 2 fur kids, very clean, nice deck with a grill and so quiet! Located close to the park and a small grocery. Communication with Beth was excellent. We hope to return again during the off season.

great cabin in the woods

Loved that this cabin was in the middle of the woods, lots of space from other cabins. Cabin was surrounded by tall trees. At night we could only see one other light through the forest. Cabin was up a hill on well groomed gravel road. No traffic passed by that I noticed while we were there (mid-week). The satellite view of the cabin is great... all woods. Cabin itself was just as described. Outside: Nice small deck with a grill and a table and chairs. Firepit on side of cabin, didn't use since was hot when we were there. Inside: Everything was clean and taken care of. Comfortable beds and pillows. Bathroom was spacious (its a jacuzzi but didn't use it for that). Kitchen is well stocked with plates, pots, and pans and more. Did a little cooking, it was great. Kitchen doesn't have a vent for the stove, which is a small nit. AC worked great. One of the days we were there was in the 90s. Layout of cabin space was open, comfortable, and easy. Host documented most everything clearly. Level set expectations which were easy to meet. Overall, excellent experience.

Wonderful Stay with Easy Hiking Access and Pet-Friendly

I had a fantastic stay at this property! Beth and Chuck made our stay even better with what they provided us. It was absolutely lovely and impeccably clean. The location provided easy access to hiking trails, which was a huge plus. My dogs loved it too! The area was quiet and peaceful, making for a truly relaxing getaway. The walk around the property was also very pleasant. The space was well-organized, and it’s clear that the hosts are true professionals. They provided a detailed binder and information for guests, which was incredibly helpful. It included resources for nearby activities and dining options, making it easy to explore the area. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient stay.

Hocking Hills Vacation

We enjoyed the vacation full of hikes and boating but the homey cabin made our vacation even more relaxing. We really felt at home. We only needed to bring food and clothes. I would very highly recommend not only the area but the cabin specifically. It is also close to the hiking trails.

About the host

Hosted by Beth Marousek

Host profile image
I and my husband, Chuck, have lived in the Hocking Hills for over 28 years.
My home state is Ohio, he is from Wisconsin, and we met in the Hocking Hills! We built our little homestead, raising chickens, dairy goats, honey bees, and organic vegetables. Being "transplants" ourselves, we recognized how precious this part of Ohio is, and in 2005 decided to become involved in the lodging business and provide others with the opportunity to visit the Hocking Hills. Chuck is a builder by trade, and designed and built the cabin by hand. His craftsmanship and attention to detail are often mentioned in the journal our guests leave notes in. We even do all the cleaning ourselves, since we are very particular! Our goal is to provide a relaxed, beautiful setting for guests to return to after exploring the forests, caves, creeks, waterfalls and natural rock formations that define this part of Ohio.

Why they chose this property

I have always been an outdoor sort of person, and this location spoke to me .... LOUDLY! I never dreamed I'd find myself living in such an amazing, beautiful place.

What makes this property unique

We are fortunate to be able to offer guests the best of both worlds. We are remote yet close to multiple activities and attractions. Guests can take off for the day and enjoy hiking and all the other fun things to do, or stay at the cabin and relax. People often say they felt at home as soon as they walked in the door, and appreciate the calm, peaceful atmosphere. Our deck is surrounded by trees, and creates a safe space where people can feel relaxed.
