About this property
Lake front Family Cabin Nestled into ADK State Park (lake access only)
This charming cabin has been our family getaway for almost 70 years. The cabin is surrounded by pine trees, has a stunning view of Middle Saranac Lake, and amenities to make it comfortable for folks who don't like camping, while rustic enough for those that do. Visitors' favorite things about the cabin include: exploring the tree canopied property, swimming in the lake, sunset paddles in the canoe or kayak, fishing, cooking dinner and making s'mores at a fire pit, napping by the lake, star gazing, and generally, the total reset of being surrounded by nature. The cabin is equipped with a propane refrigerator, stove, and heater. We have an outhouse 100' from the cabin, as well as a bathroom with a composting toilet. The bathroom also has a shower.
Cell service is spotty at best.
We have a landline you can use with a phone card (provided) and will happily talk you through any questions that might come up during your stay.
Access to the cabin is by boat only. You can kayak or canoe to the cabin, or we can leave a small outboard motor boat for you at South Creek. See videos:

About the host
Hosted by Billy Schultz

This cabin was built by my grandfather between 1958-1965. My father then added on to the cabin and built a guest cabin in the back of the property. The property is very special to all of us and we rent it out only after family has reserved slots.

Why they chose this property
Our cabin offers the perfect balance of convenient and rustic. While the weather is usually comfortable during the summer months, if a storm rolls through, the cabin will keep you dry and offer you a comfortable space for reading, doing puzzles, play board games or just hanging out. When the weather is nice, you've got the lake, making fires, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, etc.
If you’re looking for a romantic getaway, a dinner by the fire and absolute privacy makes it great for that. The neighbors, both approximately 400' away through the forest, are very rarely at their cabins (I haven't seen them for 3 years) If you're looking for quality time with family, this place has been our family's memory-maker for 60+ years. Maybe you want to start writing a novel, meditate, chop some wood or just breathe in the clean Adirondack air. If you prefer something more connected to nature and away from it all, this is the place.
