This property was just what our family was looking for. Secluded but everything we needed (lobster, clams, and oysters) were close by. The views were awesome. There was lots of space for everyone. We will consider returning.
We stayed at Salt Cottage for a recent family wedding, with two teenagers, grandparents, and an aunt. The house is gorgeous with water views from almost every room, beautifully appointed, multiple decks, and so much space. A perfect place to stay!
Had a fantastic time gathering 3 generations of family at Salt Cottage for the week. Both the owners and property manager were very helpful and the house truly has everything you need. Great recommendations for things to do in the area although it’s hard to pull away from the beautiful views and the house itself! Plenty of room to gather but also to find a quiet nook to read in. We kayaked and fished off the dock, explored Popham Beach and Bath and ate lobsters! We are already planning our next visit!
My family of 6 had a lovely time at this exceptional property. Everything we needed was thoughtfully provided and easily accessible. The kitchen was thoroughly stocked which made cooking a breeze. The owners and property manager were wonderful to work with. We will definitely be back to this gem!
We had a wonderful week at the beautiful Salt Cottage. The cottage is gorgeous (I loved the antique art and furniture) and very large with many outdoor spaces. My 2 young children loved going down to the dock every day and playing Trivia Pursuit on the porch. It was a close(ish) drive to most places, like Portland, Bath and Freeport. And very close to our favorites like Popham Beach and Reid State Park. David and Callie were great - very quick to respond to questions prior to our trip and just overall helpful.
Our Michigan family had an amazing time and are so grateful to have found Salt Cottage.
Thank you!

This is the first time we have travelled back to Maine where my children, were born with our 3 wonderful grandchildren ages 4, 6 and 8 and my daughter and son in law. The house and grounds were perfect for a an extended family vacation. The house had gorgeous views and places to sit and view the water, trees and flowers. Popham beach was fantastic and not too far a drive. The lobster pot and outdoor cooking spot
which the owner recently purchased allowed us to have our own home cooked lobster dinner, though there were a few restaurants not too far to also get seafood. We took a lovely trip to Portland for the Childrens museum and also to the Cape Elizabeth light house. I recommend this home for anyone who loves Maine and the beautiful outdoors and beach.

We both grew up coming to Maine for vacations and this gem on the Maine coast in 2020. We love travel and have stayed in MANY VRBO and AirBNB properties and look forward to sharing this wonderful location and home with other discerning travelers! We live primarily in Maryland. We also enjoy sailing in Maine when we're not using our home.
Why they chose this property
This property is unique on the Maine coast. It is VERY private as it sits on a 1.8 acre lot in a private neighborhood ... you will neither hear or see your neighbors. It is on the waterfront but elevated giving wonderful views from the 4 decks on the home and from two waterfront spots(the bench and the dock). It's an hour drive from Portland airport and within 30 minutes of numerous other beaches, resorts, towns(Bath,Brunswick, Freeport). It is the Maine coast as it was meant to be.
What makes this property unique
We were attracted to this home for many reasons, not the least of which was the high level of fit and finish throughout the home and the unique location providing fantastic privacy and natural beauty while still being convenient to other attractions and travel options.
