Well, for our family specifically, we travel with a dog. So coupled with our appreciations for privacy we loved this place and this neighborhood. The structure sets right into the side of the mountain with a beautiful view of the valley below! When all the leaves have fallen, you can see Graves Mountain Lodge and the horse stables straight through the double glass doors of the kitchen. There’s an open floor plan through the kitchen, dining area, and living room, which helps to keep the experience intimate! But if you needed to, you could totally escape to one of the bedrooms. Has everything that you need to be comfortable specifically heat sources system, because weather can get brutal fast on this side of the mountains! We cannot wait to experience the views in all four seasons! Thank you to our hosts! They were very friendly, courteous, and prompt about responding to messages!
We had a wonderful time at the cabin. It was a beautiful place to stay, wonderful view. Couldn’t beat the locations from the hikes.
1 bad thing, dead bug in the coffee machine. Bed was covered in dog hair. Other than that the place was clean.
The views of this place are worth it! Loved the large wraparound deck, Adirondak chairs and cozy feel to the place. Our pup loved running around on the grounds and we enjoyed being able to relax, unwind and disconnect. About a half hour from where we wanted to hike in Shenandoah and about 15-20 min from wineries. The ride up the place was rocky, but our AWD vehicle handled it just fine! The host was absolutely amazing with recommendations for trails, and there were brochures at the place. Would absolutely come back!
We stayed 2 nights during a tropical storm. The stay was comfortable, the property was easy to access.

The view from the cabin was beautiful. The host was helpful. However, due to pet allergies we booked this cabin because of the ‘no pet policy’ only to discover the couch covered in what appeared to be dog hair and a closet smelled like dog.
This was a lovely little cabin, tucked away on the mountain - exactly what we were looking for. We enjoyed that it was close enough to the National Park for day trips and loved the peace and quiet in the evenings sitting around the fire pit. Would definitely recommend and hope to come again soon! Thank you!
