Christmas at the locks

Fantastic location, a bit of history, quiet and a lovely remodelled home. One of the nicest VRBOs we have visited. We even had Christmas eve dinner on beautiful fine bone china!

Peaceful and Historic Winter Stay

We had an extended stay at the thoughtfully renovated historic house right on the Beveridges Locks. It was tranquil and serene. Close to the Rideau Trail and was perfect for our daily dog walks. Would love to return in the summer and see the canal in action. For us it was quiet and peaceful with good wifi so we could work from the residence. Not having the garbage pick up on site was a strain. The manager was responsive and supportive. There is a bit of a musty smell after rain but that is easily cleared with the windows opened. The house seems to be a favourite for ladybugs as well but I am sure Parks Canada will take care of that this spring. The cosy couches are made with soft feathers and needed to be puffed up frequently. We enjoyed it thoroughly and would recommend it to anyone who likes a historic experience and would also say it is good for long stays like ours as well. Enjoy!
