The cabin was very cozy and inviting. We spent our evenings outside enjoying tje porch and humming birds. After a long day of explaining the area it was nice to just relax outside..Our host was very hospitality and made sure we were taken care of..Will be back!

Last day we were there a realtor came with a couple to show the property. We were never told that the property was for sale or that the property has a potential buyer and that they were coming to see it. Not cool!!
Had a nice stay at the Cabin, owners were extremely responsive and helpful. Very nice and even let us check in a bit earlier. Thank you!
Pros
Great Location by the Pine River(seriously could have spent every day down there!)
Quiet
Traditional Cabin decor (so fun)
Easy access in and out driving
Kids liked the swing
Wildlife spotted
Cons
You’ll pass through a junk yard or two before you get to the cute cabin.
All though stressed we keep our dog on a leash(which we did) we had at least three dogs not on leashes come to the cabin from other cabins sit on the porch, try to come in…took pics…friendly for the most part just confusing on the rules out here lol.
Spotty service ( but we knew that going in)
Beds were hard
Bring your own pillows and you’ll be ok
Neighbors flagpole light on all night shining through upstairs window
Swivel stair case wasn’t super fun for late night bathroom run
All in all I would recommend for 2-3 people it’s tiny and cozy for small number of people. Cute and relaxing.
We arrived towards the evening, not really knowing what to expect. So, when we got there, even though there were houses (cabins?) nearby, we felt we were in the middle of nowhere. It's a cute, private little cabin. For people looking for solitude, it is a great setting. During the next few days, walking and driving around the roads in the area, it became evident we were actually in a somewhat established neighborhood, just very peaceful and quiet. The only problem we had with this rental is that my wife had wanted to do some work that required internet access, which it turned out, is not available at this cabin. They do have satellite reception for their tv's. If the owners had posted that there was no internet, we completely missed that point. The only other problem we had was access on the road to the cabin. We have a small car that rides low to the ground (lower than most cars- ugh, city slickers!). The road has 3-4 large speed bumps, which we could barely get over without scraping the bottom off of our car. Other than those two problems, I liked the place. I think anyone who is looking for a quiet, cozy, peaceful place (and doesn't need internet) will enjoy staying here. When we had first arrived there, we had a problem getting the tv and satellite going. We called the host and found her to be extremely responsive. She had her son drive up and get going for us.
Great place! Saw deer from the cabin each day. No cell service (a bonus for us). Well stocked cabin. Bring tubes and float the river, it’s a blast. It’s a short experience but well worth it. We met some of the neighbors and they were all very nice. The winding staircase was the only thing even close to what some might consider a negative, but it’s not worth complaining about. Great place, great scenery, great location, just over all a great time.
We loved the cabin. It was clean and super cute. The balcony was great for star gazing or getting up early for the sunrise. Very comfortable and relaxing.
We stayed for a long weekend and highly recommend! The cabin is nestled in the woods and the scenery was amazing! Marc and his girlfriend were also incredibly helpful and truly over the top with their graciousness!!! They helped us find the cabin in the pitch dark by allowing us to follow them. That’s a huge thing when WiFi and internet does not work because of the canopy of trees! The cabin was awesome for the two of us and stocked perfectly! Again…highly recommend!!
Our stay was amazing. We pretty much just stayed at the cabin and went fly fishing everyday at the Pine River, from sun up to sun down. We did venture out to find other fly fishing spots near us but almost everything was privately owned. We drove the 10 minutes towards Vallecito to get service and check in on family but other than that our phones stayed off!

Birthday Weekend
Trash from previous renter was left in unit when we finally got in. Left us wondering if the place was even cleaned before we were to use it. The notes left for how to get in were incorrect, there was no lock box for a key, and no one answered the phones when we called. Went all the way into town to the rental office to find someone and still no one was there then we finally got someone on the phone who told us where the key was. The location made up for the place of the stay, as well as the company.
This was the perfect getaway for our Anniversary. At check in, Marc was so nice and friendly. Once checked in he took us to the property. The cabin was stocked with everything you might want. Thank you! We would definitely stay here again.
The house was amazing. Very pretty and well decorated. We loved sitting on the deck at night and watching the stars. Kitchen was nice and beds were comfy. The only 2 problems we had was checking in. The email said lockbox and there was none. Also no cell reception to ask anyone, so we had to drive to get service which took a bit out of our day. The other thing was where to throw the trash. Some of the instructions left did not seem for our specific cabin. Other than the minor things we loved every second we were there. Would definitely stay there again.
This property was very clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We only had to bring our food. Also, we enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching three humming birds play. We had a relaxing and peaceful stay. The hosts were available and very kind.

Lovely stay!
This was a beautiful property, and all of the info Laurie left in the binder was incredibly helpful. The views of the stars at night were breathtaking and we loved our stay there. We went on some local hikes that were absolutely beautiful as well. There were a few minor hiccups but overall we all had an amazing trip! Heads up if you're staying during the week rather than the weekend, the general store nearby is closed on Tues-Wed
the couple hiccups:
- We got specific instructions about using a lockbox to get into the property, and it was not there. We looked everywhere for it and eventually found a spot on a post where it used to be, but wasn't anymore. We drove down to the offices and spoke to them (instructions also gave the option to check in there too). The office called the host, and turned out a key was under a rug. (silly in hindsight we didn't check there, but were tired from travelling over and followed the instructions given)
- it was advertised there would be enough coffee to get us started, and the only thing there was decaf. All the stores were closed by the time we got in - so that was rough for the morning since all of us definitely need that coffee in the morning.
- This might be an app issue, but I sent a couple messages over the VRBO app and never heard back
All in all though, the trip was amazing and would highly recommend!
When we arrived Marc guided us to our cabin. There was not any cell service for T-Mobile so we left to go buy a pre paid phone with Verizon cell service. Upon returning we had a bag on the door, OMG these kind hearted people left their personal cell phone for us. Talk about people who go above and beyond for their guest. Marc knew how stressed I was about it. We returned the phone back in the morning!
The trip was by far my favorite! The property was so relaxing and beautiful.
This was a very quiet area convenient to the Valliceto Reservoir and fishing on the Los Piños River. It was clean and comfortable. Only issue, which is a plus or minus depending on your desires, was there is no cell signal or internet access. However, a short drive up to the lake and you have very good cell reception.
My family and I (total of 4 adults) loved this gem in the woods. The huge wrap around deck was our favorite part of the cabin! We spent most of our time on the deck soaking in the scenic view and the surrounding cabins are far enough away that it feels almost secluded. We loved spotting deer and hummingbirds every day. The kitchen was well stocked with the essentials needed to cook and the beds were comfy. We also really enjoyed the short drive to Vallecito Lake. Note that the upstairs bedroom requires you to climb a steep spiral staircase. My older parents couldn’t do it, but my partner and I took that room and didn’t mind. Overall we loved this beautiful and comfortable cabin. We’ll definitely stay here again on our next Durango trip!
Physical description of property was 100% accurate. Been to the area many times and very familiar with everything. This a great base camp location for all destinations regardless of what direction your activity may take you.. The peacefulness of the deck cannot be described until you have experienced it. Deer, hummingbirds and others seem to want to drop by and visit any time. You can still stay connected with satellite TV that works great but once you get here you will understand probably not care about the TV. Unless you have Verizon no cell access...but oh well. :-) No internet... and that is about the only thing I can say that was a challenge but we knew that going in. Well stocked with all that is needed and just the right size to serve as "base camp" . Now here is the real test...would we stay again after the none days we spent there? Absolutley, yes.
Great house and location to all our activities. Almost impossible to communicate with friends we had camping near us without cell service or WiFi. Also disappointing not being able to share our trip on social media until after we left.
We stayed for a week in this cabin ( 2 adults and 2 kids). We loved the location. It is secluded and at the same it’s conveniently located within an hour to all activities that we’ve planned: train station in Durango, Purgatory resort, Pagosa Springs, and water rafting in Durango. It’s a short walk to a river and kids also lived outdoor swings. We watched deers every day walking by and the best of all - no cell phone connection. Loved it!

Great family getaway
Enjoyed our family time at this cabin. The community is very quiet, and the cabin is on a beautiful wooded lot. Our kids enjoyed exploring the space around the cabin, and the swing. The cabin is small, but cozy. Everything was very clean. We would definitely return again if visiting Durango area.
