New Listing! Live Like a Local, Historic Charleston
Property Description
A stay at High Society offers the chance to truly “live like a local” and immerse yourself in all the historic details of this stylish, 2 bedroom, 2 bath luxury condo in the heart of historic downtown Charleston. Located in Charleston's charming Ansonborough neighborhood, and part of the historic “The High School of Charleston” building, circa 1840-1842, designed by the famed Charleston architect, Edward Brickell White. The design of the school was recognized as a classic revival in design with six massive Corinthian columns supporting the portico. White also designed numerous churches and public buildings throughout Charleston.
Not only will you come home to the elegance and grandeur of this unmistakable building, but you'll delight in the original 1840's details including 13 foot ceilings, original heart pine flooring, exposed beams and age-old brickwork. Enter through a charming courtyard in the rear and you'll discover an open and well-appointed living space, dining room that seats 6 guests, compact, well-stocked kitchen and private office for working remotely if need. Additionally, you'll find a washer/dryer tucked into the kitchen.
You'll find a guest room appointed with a QUEEN bed, and flat screen TV that is adjacent to the full, hall bath. The comfortable primary suite has a KING bed, private ensuite bath, flat screen TV and a pair of French doors that open to the outdoor courtyard, where you can enjoy coffee and a book on quiet mornings.
Just a short walk from Meeting Street and King Street, the heart of Charleston's shopping and dining district. With a dedicated off-street parking space, you can leave the car parked and walk to everything in and around Charleston. Local favorites nearby include, Muse, Hanks Seafood, FIG, and Frannie & the Fox and popular tourist destinations Charleston City Market, The Gailliard Center, and Marion Square.
