This cabin sits at the base of Round Top Mountain on the Alpine Loop with wonderful views. Enjoy the sunny south-facing covered porch or hike up the ridge for even more panoramic views. This property is almost two acres, minutes from town and provides remote mountain privacy. There is a home over the ridge but not visible from the property. The property borders Bureau of Land Management Public land to the north and west with abundant wildlife. When your day is done, snuggle up on the Natuzzi Italian leather loveseat in this romantic getaway for a couple. Dim the red chandelette and dine at the table with views of Round Top Mountain. The living room and bedroom have vaulted ceilings with fans and lights that dim. Want to bring the kids? The sleeping loft has a FOUR foot high ceiling with room for the kids or young at heart on two twin beds. There is plenty of parking space. If you are traveling with family or friends with an RV, we have space for them too.

Just steps from the cabin's covered porch is the rock bordered picnic area nestled in the aspens. There is an 8 foot picnic table and charcoal grill for your use. Also enjoy sitting around firepit / stove under the stars with beautiful evening views above cabin.

The kitchen has all the dishes and cooking utensils needed to cook a great dinner. We also provide spices, foil, paper towels, coffee filters, dish washing liquid, and too much more to list.

For those familiar with Lake City, to reach the property, travel south (towards Lake San Cristobal and Slumgullion Pass) 1/2 mile out of Lake City. You enter the property on a private drive on your right before you reach ski hill and the Round Top Mountain Road.
The property is located just off Hwy 149.

We are taking reservations for 2018. There are not many, if any, rental opportunities this close to town at this price point with privacy and room to roam. Book now for the time you desire.

Clean, Classy, and Very Pleasant
The Silver Coin cabin was everything we wanted. It’s quaint, and extremely clean and well equipped. Its close to town, yet still private. The cabin is the perfect size for an adult couple, and perhaps 2 children. It would be pretty tight for 2 adult couples. The only downside for us is that it is located right on the main highway just outside of town. But this did not take away from the privacy because of the acreage, and the occasional road traffic was not a distraction. The owner (Steve) was a pleasure to deal with. I would stay here any time; the perfect getaway for my wife and I.

BEST STAY EVER!
This was, without a doubt, the best place I’ve ever stayed. Prime location, park like setting, and Super Clean cabin stocked with anything we could have needed during the stay. I did not want to leave and I cannot wait to come back and stay again. We will definitely try to get this cabin when we return to beautiful Lake City!

Very quaint
We loved the cabin. It was well stocked and the owners were very detailed with instructions which made it very easy to understand the nuances. Staying at Lake City is better than where we have stayed in Silverton. Still a small town feel instead of a huge tourist attraction. Restaurant Southern Vittles was gooood and the Country Store on the outskirts of town has everything you need. We will definitely stay again.

We spent a week in this wonderful cabin.
The Silver Coin Cabin is a tiny gem on the outskirts of Lake City. The owners have thought of every amenity to make your stay perfect. From lotions to the fire pit, the cabin had it all. The entire property is immaculately maintained. The owners are very easy to work with and will go out of their way to make everything perfect. Great tv reception and very good WiFi. We will return.

Excellent!
Our stay at the Silver Coin Cabin couldn't have been better! Beautiful surroundings, wildlife all around, very close to all necessities but also felt very secluded. Lake City is a wonderful area with lots to do and this cabin is a great place to call home for a few days. Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) felt very comfortable and cozy and the kids loved the loft space. The cabin came stocked with all the basic things a person could need and the property owners were very helpful, friendly, and overall great to book with. I highly recommend this rental to anyone looking to vacation in Lake City.

Very Cozy
This place was perfect for my wife & I, enjoying our anniversary. The owners are incredibly kind people, & so easy to work with. Beautiful! This property perfect! Beautiful, well-maintained, perfectly appointed, and very clean!!
This was a wonderful gem! We rented the Silver Coin Cabin for 4 nights. Perfect size for a couple or a family of 4-5. Steve, the owner, was great to work with from beginning to end. We had a problem with the refrigerator. He went over and beyond what was necessary or expected to correct the problem. The Silver Coin Cabin was well marked from the highway. It is very well decorated and made us feel at home. The owners had so many extra touches in the cabin that are too numerous to list. The cabin was very well appointed. Everything you could possibly need, was provided. The cabin was extremely clean and had no lingering odors. Also, there are so many extras to the property. The picnic and firepit areas are idyllic. One afternoon we returned to find a deer in our driveway taking a nap! The wildlife love the Silver Coin Cabin also! The Lake City area is a beautiful Colorado town. We plan to return to the Silver Coin Cabin on our next visit!

Perfect
My husband and I stayed at this lovely, small cabin for 3 nights in September. It was truly perfect for our need. It was private, with abundant wild life to observe and beautiful mountains surrounding us. It is just a short drive into Lake. City. The cabin was spotless with every amenity provided. Communication and access was seamless. There is some roadway noise during the day, but at night peaceful. The picnic and separate fire pit area was a bonus.I highly recommend this property and it's owners.

Great location for hiking
The cabin was very clean and comfortable and was supplied with all we needed for cooking meals "at home". We chose this spot because of the accessibility to the Silver Creek-Grizzly Gulch trail head and it was a nice bonus to have such great accommodations. Although we didn't walk to town, it was very convenient to drive in for groceries and to the bakery.

My wife and I spent 9 WONDERFUL nights in this tremendous cabin. We could not have hoped for a more enjoyable stay in this exceptional cabin. It was so well furnished and provided all the essentials we could have possibly needed or wanted. Our 2nd time at Silver Coin. A great value for Colorado property. We enjoy the Alpine loop, which is nearby. Very clean and well stocked property. Close to town, but has lots of privacy. We'll be back.

My wife and I have been vacationing with our family in the Lake City area since 1997. We have always wanted to own mountain property and have been looking for "the perfect spot" for years. In 2011 we found it. We hope to someday add a couple more cabins on this property and retire in the Lake City area. Our desire is to provide our guests with a relaxing carefree vacation.

Why they chose this property

This property offers guests a secluded mountain location while being about 1/2 mile from town. The cabin is situated on almost two acres of private land which borders BLM public land to the north and west.

What makes this property unique

This property is in an idyllic private setting, clean, compact but complete and competitively priced. There is ample room to have a gathering of family and friends who have RVs.
