About this property

Nature Lover's Paradise

Nestled in the lush Oaxaca valley, the (former) Hacienda of Don Pedrillo is a tranquil retreat for the discerning traveler who appreciates serenity, privacy, and nature. Ancient mountains rise majestically on the valley's horizon, framing the striking views from the Hacienda.

Spaniards built this unique dwelling in 1643 as a granary. It sits atop a nearly 400-year-old foundation on 2 ½ acres that back onto a tranquil nature reserve that you're welcome to explore. We have Wifi:15 Mbps

It's a 10-minute drive to the nearby town of Tlacolula de Matamoros, and the incredible UNESCO city center of Oaxaca is 45 minutes away.

Modern comfortable furniture and 21-century amenities welcome you inside. We've made an effort to balance artisanal touches with everyday essentials. 2 private bedrooms are on the left side with a full bathroom. A second full bathroom is on the right side of the house near the working space, living room and fully equipped kitchen.

The property sits in an unincorporated cluster of just 3 other homes used mainly as weekend nature retreats.

Hello, if you're looking for a host and a home in the real Oaxaca, you've at the right place! My family and I will make your stay a comfortable, authentic and memorable trip to Oaxaca.

Why they chose this property

I grew up nearby and want to preserve nature and history. Having traveled to other parts of Mexico and the world, I realized how much Oaxaca has to offer: Food, Art, Culture. We're excited to introduce you to this part of Oaxaca. This property is quietly located at the bottom of a mountain overlooking the Oaxaca Valleys. Perfectly located off of the main highway that connects you to all of the must sees outside of Oaxaca city: Petrified waterfalls, the Mezcal Route, archeological sites in Mitla, Yagul, and all the artisan villages of Matatlan (World Capital of Mezcal), Teotitlan del Valle (weaving village) and more.

What makes this property unique

Nearly 400 year old foundation, adobe house restored with modern touches of comfort and convenience in a beautiful setting in the Oaxacan valley.
