Relaxing winter getaway with gorgeous views
You really don’t need to bring anything except your sense of adventure and a desire to relax. We snowmobiled, snowshoed, snowboarded/skied, went horseback riding, enjoyed evenings by the fire and watched the elk while eating breakfast. All within 8 miles of the cabin. We also did a day trip to Yellowstone. In the description they say it is well stocked and they are not exaggerating.

Big Sky Ski
Lovely, high end, rustic cabin. This beautiful property was close enough to the skiing, but also provided great space to relax in the evening in front of a roaring fireplace. Highly recommend.

Absolutely Perfect!
We loved loved LOVED our stay at porcupine park! The house/cabin is perfect for families. The location was great for exploring Big Sky, the Gallatin area and Yellowstone. We hiked, lazed and explored our way through 7 beautiful Montana days. The home itself had everything we needed and some things we didn’t know that we needed. The wifi and cell coverage was great which let us keep up with work when needed. We enjoyed the front porch immensely to include the wildlife that would walk by in the mornings and evenings. When needed, the owners were just a text away and were fantastically responsive. Thank you for a perfect Western getaway!!

Wonderful Mountain Home
This property absolutely lived up to the description and pictures and actually exceeded our expectations. The owners were so helpful and accommodating. The home is in a beautiful setting, great location for accessing everything we wanted to do and so well stocked with everything you need. Our only regret was that we had to leave this wonderful home! We would certainly recommend this property to anyone considering booking.

Dirty
The house was dirty. We spent a whole day washing sheets, towels, etc. because it was so nasty. I rent high end homes on VRBO l the time; I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Breathtaking Views!
We have been renting properties for many years from Vrbo and Janina and Alexander's property was our hands-down favorite--the property is set on a wonderful, sparsely built park, very close to Big Sky (10 minutes from the meadows, and 40 minutes from West Yellowstone) so that you can enjoy the convenience of being so close to many amenities and outfitters, without the growing density and traffic of Big Sky. The views from the cabin's porch are simply amazing! We often sat on the porch, reading and taking in the peace, the quiet, and the views. The cabin is set in expansive meadows filled with wildflowers in August, as well as a great variety of birds (grouse, kestrels)--the wildlife comes right to your door! The cabin is wonderfully appointed (kitchen equipment, bedding, ample towels, games) and spacious. The wifi is fantastic--and enabled us to tie us loose ends at work efficiently--the satellite TV, when we used it, was very straight forward and unfussy--great connectivity! The cabin is spacious and the beds are really comfortable. The firepit was a huge hit--it was wonderful to watch the vast Montana night sky (and Perseiad meteor shower) just overhead while crunching on smores. The cabin's location is central to many day hikes (Ouzel Falls, Beehive Basin, Lone Peak, Lava Lake), expeditions (horseback riding, fly fishing, whitewater rafting), as well as the Yellowstone West, but also North entrance/Paradise valley. I am sure this cabin is a great location in the winter, but it is outstanding in the summer as well--not to be missed!

Great location, accommodations, amenities, and decorations. Beautiful.
We all enjoyed your lovely home with the amazing views. Great access even in 38" of snow received in 4 days. Shovels were useful for walkways. Great time had by all.

The perfect mountain retreat - look no further!
This cabin is absolutely beautiful! It is so Well appointed and has everything you need. Believe me when I tell you, we are very fussy when it comes to accommodations and this place is perfect! While it feels so private and remote it’s just minutes from skiing, shopping and dining. The owners are kind and super responsive. We stayed a week in February and skied, went snow mobiling, had a sleigh ride and dinner at lone mountain ranch, had a spa day and even brought in a private chef one night - everything is comfortable - from the beds to the couches! The wood burning fireplace is amazing and there is plenty of dry wood. The kitchen is well stocked with all that you need to make wonderful meals. We stopped at the grocery in Bozeman before heading over - need lots of water, coffee, wine, breakfast items and snacks- there are three markets close by though in big sky. Bring some laundry detergent as there is a washer and dryer - which is so nice to have!! If you are looking for the perfect place to stay - this is it!! We loved it and are confident you will too!

Wonderful!!!
A perfect winter retreat! My husband and I wanted to get away from Chicago to a place that was quiet and peaceful but not to far from skiing, restaurants, etc. This home and the surroundings are absolutely beautiful! If you enjoy wildlife, we saw elk in the morning under the evergreen trees around the home. We also saw big horn sheep on the drive from Bozeman and on the way to Big Sky on several occasions. We did not want to leave and hope to return. Would love to come out in the summer or fall. Thank you!

Wonderful stay at a special home
My family stayed at the Montana Retreat for my daughter's college spring break. The home is beautiful and very well-appointed. We skied at Big Sky each day which is an easy 20 minute drive away. The Meadow Village and Town Center are a 10 minute drive although some of the best restaurants in the area (Gallatin Riverhouse, Buck's T-4, and the Corral) are just a minute or two from the house. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. There are numerous areas to either relax or get away from the group to catch up on work. We saw some elk and other wildlife near the home nearly every day and appreciated being in a quiet, beautiful location away from the crowds. We would happily stay here again.

The most perfect house!
I cannot even begin to describe how amazing this house is. My fiance and I rented this house with two other couples for a week of skiing in Big Sky. We cannot stop talking about how amazing the house and property were. We rent a lot of vacation homes and this blew them all out of the water. The house is beautifully decorated while also being amazingly comfortable and so clean! The property that the house is on is gorgeous, one day we saw over 30 elk walking through the yard. It was such an amazing sight to see. The house is about a 12-15 minute drive to the mountain. We really enjoyed being able to come back to this house after a long day of skiing. We cooked a lot while here and the kitchen was well stocked with, pots, pans, and spices. This house has everything you could possibly want! We are already talking about renting this house again. The pictures online are beautiful but this house will blow you away in person! Book it!

Couldn't have been better!
Our family of 4 (two boys 19 and 17) spent two weeks in the cabin. We loved everything about our visit. One of the things we were most impressed with is how well the kitchen is stocked. In the two weeks we were in Big Sky we only ate out the last night. The area is private and remote yet close enough to what you need to get to. We spent a week in Big Sky last year and stayed in Antler's Ridge. This was a much better location for the summer activities we like to do. The owners are great to work with throughout the entire time. I highly recommend this cabin.

Very impressed with the location, view, and the cabin itself. It was beautiful and fully furnished.
The cabin was very accommodating. The first night we had a total of 8 people sleeping there and it worked out great. After that it was only 5 and each party had their own nice bedroom. The cabin was fully furnished and everything we needed was available. All the appliances worked well which was a huge plus. I would definitely recommend it to anyone and would certainly stay there again. The location was great. Close to Big Sky Resort, the Gallatin River, and Yellowstone Park. Also very easy access to a nice grocery store and several nice restaurants. Also close to horse back riding, fly fishing, golf etc.

The best of everything! Spectacular views, comfort and charm and only minutes from town!
This was the perfect home for our Montana vacation! Only minutes from town but truly away from it all. The setting is magical! We sat on the front porch and savored the breathtaking view of Lone Mountain and the surrounding foothills. Each day, we watched the mother deer and her twin fawns in the meadow. Just beautiful! The log cabin home offers comfort and luxury with everything we needed for our stay. The teenagers slept on the lower level which gave them (and us) space and privacy. The cabin was ideally located for a quick trip to Yellowstone and easy access to hikes up Porcupine Creek, Taylor Fork, and Windy Pass. Lots of good fishing everywhere you turn! We enjoyed two fabulous dinners at the Cinnamon Lodge, taking in the cliff side views from the outside deck. Would highly recommend it. We loved this home and all it offers. We cannot wait to return, hopefully for longer next time! Many thanks!

Speechless Beauty
This cabin surpassed our expectations on every level. The log cabin is absolutely stunning, so well furnished and views from every angle. The main living area is so comfortable and homey with an open floor plan and large fireplace. The screened in deck is perfect for lounging mosquito and bug free. We enjoyed cocktail hour on the front porch while watching the sunset and got a kick out of the romping squirrels. Woke up one morning to an elk bugle and found a herd of 8 with 2 babies in the front yard, so amazing. The acreage provides privacy and endless mountain and forest views. Proximity to Big Sky Resort and Yellowstone was very convenient and there are hiking trails everywhere, I highly recommend the hike to Lava Lake, it's gorgeous.

Perfect Location - Great Accomodations
This is the first time I am leaving a comment on a VRBO. All I can say is that this place is perfect for a family outing or girls/boys trip. We just came back and loved the location. It was away from all the noise and tourism of Yellowstone, (where we ran the Yellowstone Half Marathon) yet a short drive to enjoy the National Park. We watched the wildlife (a family of 8 elk including 2 babies) from the front porch; took a beautiful hike to Lava Lake and zip-lined in Big Sky. In my opinion we had the best of all worlds. Out of the rat race, but easy access to nature and fun. It was quiet, serene and all out gorgeous scenery. I would rent here again. The accommodations were acceptable too, decent beds, linens and spacious baths. And we loved the little summer house where we enjoyed a campfire at night. My only recommendation is the following: - Have the kitchen knives sharpened or replaced - Replace kitchen towels. They have lived out their day. - Consider adding a Kurig coffee machine - One of the frying pans sticks like crazy. Throw it out and replace. Lastly, check out the front windows on the porch. One of the handles is stripped so we couldn't open it. Thanks for opening up your home. We hated to leave but that means it was special.

Idyllic Montana setting
My family stayed here over the year-end holidays and had a wonderful time. Beautiful views, fantastic privacy, lovely walks every day- exactly what we were looking for to decompress and enjoy Montana in its fullest. As nice as it looks on VRBO, I assure you it's even better in person. We'll be back!

Awesome Montana Cabin!
It doesn't get much better than this! We stayed in this house for a week as a base for visiting Gallatin / Big Sky, Yellowstone and Grand Teton. The house is an amazing 3 level log cabin with everything you could hope for in terms of amenities, decoration and lovely location in the hills. The kids spent countless hours swinging on the porch while I spent the early mornings sitting by the fire-pit and summer house area relaxing and reading in the morning rays. Several nights were also spent with a nice fire watching the Perseid Meteors, followed by a quick visit to the sauna. Proximity to Big Sky allowed for grocery shopping and plenty of nearby restaurants and activities as well, including some nice fly fishing on the Gallatin river just moments away. We also saw numerous deer in the yard on several occasions and could often hear the hawks as well. Much of our time was spent in Yellowstone, a bit of ride each day but it is such a massive area that this was expected. We certainly had our fill of wildlife, geysers, and incredible landscapes, although there is never enough time to see it all! Favorites in the area included the River House restaurant for BBQ and Pool, Ousel Falls for a hike, swimming for the kids and fishing, and Roxy's Market for breakfast and lunch supplies. We would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for this type of great outdoors vacation spot, with good access to many local attractions and national parks. We have rented many many houses from HomeAway and this was right there among the best!

Better than the photos (and the photos are great)
This is the truly "rare" find. 5-Star property and incredibly hospitable, friendly and helpful owners. We stayed at the cabin during first week of August - ended up extending the stay 2 days. The place is beautiful and inviting. Exceptionally clean and equipped. Everything you need except food. The views are outstanding, the beds are very comfortable and the furnishings (inside and out) are perfect. Games and puzzles for family nights. We saw deer (2) in the yard nearly every day. Easy and scenic trips by car to Yellowstone, Big Sky Resort area, Bozeman. Short drives to great restaurants, grocery stores and activities (rafting, zip lining and horseback riding - try Diamond P Ranch west of West Yellowstone). We had absolutely no complaints. - only exceeded expectations. Truly. A wonderful stay by all (family of 5, with teenagers)
