Woodbourne Estate includes National and Virginia historic registered landmark buildings, the Manor House and other parts of the farm nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Madison County, Virginia. The 53-acre Estate is also home to our award-winning Bald Top Brewing Company and Scratch Pizza Kitchen, which sit together just a comfortable stroll up a hill beyond the Manor house. We cannot wait to share this historic gem with its gorgeous grounds, gardens, barns, ruins, private heated saltwater pool (open May - September), hot tub, BBQ deck, stream, and vistas all waiting for you!
Enjoy peace and comfort on any one of our three patio/porch areas or kick back by the large outdoor 12-foot fire pit with plenty of firewood provided. Take in breathtaking views from the hilltop private and heated saltwater pool that is open mid-April through October (weather permitting, and our hot tub between the pool and Manor House!
Explore the grounds and experience the magic of numerous shady oak, walnut and chestnut trees, our young orchard, a babbling brook, pastures with livestock, and the many historic barns and ruins.
Bald Top is open to the public Thursday-Sunday, with live music, several food options, including vegan and gluten-free from our wood-fired pizza oven & kitchen, and more available for your enjoyment - just a three minute walk for our onsite VIP guests! See our brewery website for details.

Woodbourne Manor and Bald Top Brewing Company (Virginia’s first Historic Farm brewery!) are simply....paradise! We are located one mile off of Main Street in Madison, where you will find a few local restaurants, a pharmacy, Dollar General, pizza shop, and more sprinkled between historic buildings and structures, harkening you back to days gone by. Charlottesville is an easy drive down Route 29 (south), and the charming town of Culpeper is just 20 minutes north on Route 29 - both offering convenience, many restaurant options, shops and more!
Some Uber and public car services are available with advance planning from neighboring towns that can serve Madison, as are tour bus companies. Recommend having access to a private vehicle so you can explore the many popular outdoor hiking, boating, fishing spots close to the Manor House at Woodbourne Estate. Note, we are conveniently located near award winning wilderness preserves and hiking in Shenandoah National Park, including the nationally acclaimed Old Rag Mountain and White Oak Canyon.
