Beautiful Mountain Home

Our family enjoyed our stay at this mountain home for a football weekend. The house was spacious and clean. It was helpful having a refrigerator in the kitchen as well as one in the basement for all of our tailgating food. The views are gorgeous and the porch is perfect for relaxing. Was an easy drive to the stadium as well. The owner is very accommodating and made sure all of our needs were taken care of prior to arrival.

Peaceful Relaxing Home

Amazing Views! This is a beautiful comfortable home, with amazing views of the mountains. We were looking for a quiet vacation, that was still a short drive to everything, and we found it. This home is so comfortable and clean, with many of the extras that other rental homes do not have. The owner thought of everything, we felt like we were staying in our own home everything we needed was right here. Less then 5 minutes to Lake Jocassee, our favorite lake, with fishing, kayaking, water falls, and peaceful hiking trails, Lake Jocassee is a gem! Can't wait to come back next year, thank you Phil for being so kind and friendly. -The Thompson Family

A Glorious Stay

This home spoiled us! The majestic views and well-appointed kitchen are unmatched! The kitchen was stocked with practically every appliance, utensil, dish, and gadget you could possibly need! Pots and pans, and ladies THEY ALL HAD MATCHING LIDS!! The pictures do not do the home justice. The amenities are not all listed and are a very welcomed surprise. The hosts were rapid responders when it came to communication and checked on us frequently to ensure all our needs were met. The Hesters are God-blessed hosts that epitomize what true hosting should be. We highly recommend the home. The value is great and we will definitely come again!!

Beautiful Home with Extraordinary Views

We rented this home so all of our family could be under one roof as we commuted to and from Clemson University to attend our daughter's graduation. Our group included my in-laws, my mom, my husband and myself. Everyone had a room of their own and the spacious living area and dining area afforded us the opportunity to enjoy a TV show together as well. The house is aptly named "morning glory" as we saw a spectacular sunrise and enjoyed scenic views of the area when traversing the hilly terrain to reach our destination. The home itself is lovely, with incredible attention to detail in its craftsmanship and design. The kitchen was also stocked with spices and coffee, olive oil etc. and all the dishes, pots, pans and storage containers you would need. We did a quick inventory before going to the store and found that we only needed the basic perishables for our stay, since we only ate breakfast at the house. The owners are very accommodating and offered great ideas for local touring and sights. We felt at home from the moment we arrived and it seemed more like we were staying at a friend's home rather than a stranger's. If you are considering this home for a short or long term stay, you cannot go wrong with this property or the owners.

We loved staying at Morning Glory. Perfect location to Cashiers, Highlands, Clemson and many waterfalls. Take the scenic drive up 28 to Highlands for a day of shopping and sight seeing. We will be back! Thanks, Phil for excellent service.

This vacation house was comfortable, clean and convenient. The back porch views were spectacular.

Our family spent Labor Day 2017 weekend at this wonderful place. The views were awesome from the back porch. It was clean and plenty of linens and towels for all. The owner was super helpful and made the experience easy. We had friends and family enough room for 8 people to stay comfortable. The location of the house was close to Devil's Fork State Park and Keowee Lake. We enjoyed the entire stay. We would recommend to stay at this home to everyone.

A Fine House

My family, 5 adults and a 3yr.old baby boy, enjoyed a lovely New Years weekend in this fine home at Lake Jocassee. Could not participate in outdoor activities, but loved the comfort of the arcitecture and decor of this very well appointed home. Until the fog rolled in, the view was spectacular. Host very accomadating and communicative. We know this area and their are wonderful fun towns and cities for day trips. A good find!

Beautiful, Spacious, Comfortable

Our family spent the July 4th Holiday weekend & beyond at Morning Glory. It was just as lovely as it appeared in the photos, and felt like home away from home. Phil Hester could not have been better with regard to quick communication and answering any and all of our questions. The home was very convenient to everything we needed, especially Devils Fork Park where we rented a boat. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and plan to rent this lovely home again.

Nicer than home

This home is as lovely inside as the view is outside! The owners have thought of every convenience to make your stay comfortable. The home is beautifully decorated, with lots of seating space for meals and relaxing for large families. The view out the back of the house is stunning and can be enjoyed by many of the rooms. The kitchen is well appointed. The screened-in porch is comfortable and enclosed by two nice decks where the kids cannot escape, so its safe for small children. Immaculately clean, even the unfinished bottom level of the house is clean and dry. Ample, safe parking. Trash pick-up was an extra nice feature in this area where you usually have to haul it away yourself. The neighborhood is quiet and attractive. Convenient to Lake Jocassee and a great hike up at Whiteside Mtn. between Cashiers and Highlands. Pictures do not do the house justice. Owner was very helpful. We recommend bringing binoculars and maybe even a telescope to enjoy the stars and daytime panorama!

Wonderful Vacation on Hwy 11

We had a wonderful time together as a family. The home was beautiful and had everything we needed to cook and enjoy our stay. Lots to do including lake, shopping in Highlands, river rapids, and excellent food. We especially enjoyed our meal at Three Pines, a bed and breakfast in the neighborhood. Private dining with a chef makes for quite the evening.

Terrific Mountain Lake getaway

We just returned from an awesome trip to Jocasee and coming home each night to this wonderful home was just perfect for our family The home is beautiful, well set up for large families or several couples. All amenities you would need were well provided. A morning cup of coffee or evening sunset on the back porch with a view of the Blue Ridge mountains was a great way to start and end each day. Our daily excursions to white water rafting, cliff climbing/jumping, and waterfall exploration were all just a few miles away. We would definitely recommend this home for future travelers.

Anniversary/Family getaway!

If your plan to stay in the Jocassee Lake area and want a great view of the beautiful mountains in SC, this is a great choice! The home is very well equipped, beautifully decorated, very very clean, and welcoming. The layout of the home lends itself to a great view of the mountains from the Kitchen, living room, and master bedroom, but the best place to enjoy the scenery is on the back screened porch. The sunrises were amazing and every morning was a different "painting." While we were there we enjoyed a day on Lake Jocassee, went up to Highlands and Cashiers, and went searching for Waterfalls. Thanks Phil for all your recommendations and directions. Not often do you rent a home that is as clean and welcoming as your own. We celebrated our 13th Anniversary with our children, and it was a great vacation full of memories! (almost forgot - buy your groceries in Pickens, the market just down the road is a little expensive but very convenient.) Thanks again, Trent and Amanda - Aynor, SC

I built this house and hope to retire here someday and leave it to my children and grandchildren. During this time you get to enjoy what I plan to when I retire.

Why they chose this property

I love this area of South Carolina its a big secret that is slowly getting National Attention. It is not hard to get to and has a wonderful views and is close to Clemson, Lake Jocassee & Keowee. It has a central location near Charlotte, Greenville, Asheville, Cashiers, Highlands, Atlanta.

What makes this property unique

The Benefits are that you can have the Mountain Views everyday and the lake access to both Jocassee and Keowee are moments away. Its location is very private. You don't need a boat or pontoon you can rent and they place it in & out of the lake for you. Fishing guides available for both lakes.
