About this property

Experience rural living amongst towing Redwoods just 10 minutes from town.

The Headwater House Suite is very easy to find just 5 miles off HWY 101, just south of Eureka. This place is truly unique, because it's natural Redwood amphitheater and open meadow views. The Elk River valley is very quiet, starry nights, and has 50% more sunny days than Eureka proper. Equipped with Starlink, rural connectivity has never been better. You'll see and hear many species of birds, deer, fox, and maybe even a Barred Owl at dusk. This has a private entrance, 2 rooms, 1 bath, 1 queen sized bed, small kitchen, lounge seating and one of kind outdoor waterfall soaking tub.

You'll have access to the entire first floor of this mid-century Heartwood (Redwood) home built by solo Italian man in 1954. Has a 280 degree view of a 25 acre meadow with towering Redwoods that form a natural amphitheater that capture morning sunrise. Back patio has a private seating area, with an outdoor soaking tub with a "Mini moot" waterfall feature. The small kitchen has marble countertops, vintage electric oven, and modern overhead fan. Equipped with skillets, pots, pans, cutting boards and all utensils for preparing home cooked meals. You'll find cooking oil, seasonings, organic coffee (electric grinder), and some teas.

*Disclaimer: (Please read) There are few things we need to finalize and have clear communication before we can complete your booking. VRBO advertises that "no other people" will be onsite during your stay, this is simply "not" the case as I live and rent upstairs and there can be some light foot traffic during common hours. Of course you
Second, and most important, I will request a screenshot of your Drivers License to verify your VRBO account, sent via email after your initial inquiry. (Please make sure your picture, First name, Last initial, and DL # is visible, feel free to blur any other sensitive info). I realize this is small hassle, and do not understand why VRBO does not have a better verification process on their end. I hope you understand my situation, if you were allowing an unknown person on your property. Of course your I.D is kept confidential for booking and liability purposes only and will be deleted after check out. Once you have attached screenshot message or email, I can pre-approve your booking.

Lastly, Depending on your cell phone provider, cell coverage is spotty. Once checked in you can used Starlink Internet to make WIFI calling. FYI, If you had a medical or other emergency 911 will still work on any phone.

A few other small disclaimers, It's greatly appreciated if you conserve water during your stay. The suite is not on municipal water supply. During late Summer the cistern (well water) can have a slight beige (hi Iron) tint. It's tested and filter through charcoal medium and UV light. Although no bacteria has been traced the tap water is not recommended for drinking. Approx. 3 gallons of fresh drinking water is provided during your stay. (Of course tap water is o.k for pets, or bring extra water for multi day stays).

If you are a heavy smoker please do not rent this VRBO.

Thank you for taking the time to read, please feel free to reach out with any questions,

I love this little place, beautiful views of fields and redwoods, quiet and dark at night for sleeping. The space is large and everything works. I was undisturbed and Brad was so helpful when I needed it. The nearby redwood preserves are amazing. I hope to be back next year.
