Great spot for a short vacation

Lots of space to hang out, the hot tub and pool are great. Location is close to the highway, so easy access to town. The house is definitely a rental, so well worn furniture, but that creates less stress bringing little ones. Dishwashers didn't work well (which has been mentioned in past reviews - and haven't been fixed). Address is wrong in the app, and when mentioned to the host, they didn't even offer a minor apology, so that was annoying. Luckily we were able to figure out which the actual house was from the photos and google maps satellite view.

Wonderful Home and Area

We had a great time, and enough space for a large group - it was very hot out, and the place was cool and comfortable for our entire family. Our only regret was not being able to stay longer

Great place to stay!

We loved the place, enjoyed relaxing here very much! The photos should have been updated to current conditions, as it showed there would be a foosball table as well as an indoor basketball game, but those were not at the house. Overall, everything was great.

Fantastic place for a large group to stay!

We had fantastic winter stay at the property. 20 mins commute to Panorama ski resort was pretty comfortable. The house is very large and comfortable for large groups with enough space to spread out. Kitchen (and the outdoor grill) was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook every night. Hot tub and swimming spa was just amazing after a day of skiing. Thanks for hosts for making this house available on VRBO!

Great stay

Pros: Plenty of room for our large family reunion. Loved the pool and hot tub. Easy access to private beach. Kitchen was well stocked with assorted pots and bowls (missing a non-stick frying pan☹️). Air conditioning was much appreciated! Beds were comfy. Could be improved: (minor things, but when you are paying a lot for the property….) The grounds were not well-kept (broken bricks by the pool, generally untidy); dishwasher didn’t clean the dishes well; communication about workers coming onto the property didn’t happen until we contacted them; furniture was well-worn; rules about being outside past 10:00 pm were apparently enforced by cameras and noise monitors (definitely not inviting to enjoy the coolness of the evening!)

Spacious house, spectacular location but unkept

Whilst the property in Windermere is spacious and a spectacular location, we were disappointed in the overall cleanliness and stocking of it. There were numerous dead bugs throughout the property, the oven, barbecue and trash bins were dirty. There was also a load of dirty laundry on the floor. The dishwasher did not clean the dishes despite scrapping and rinsing of dishes. The house was not appropriately stocked for 10 people for 7 days. For example, there were 5 rolls of toilet paper in total for 5 bathrooms, no laundry soap, and a dribble of hand soap in some of the bathrooms, trash bins or bathmats not provided in all bathrooms. The backyard furniture was not clean, and the garden is full of weeds and spoke to the overall care of the property. If you don’t mind supplying items that you’d expect to be in the house and doing some cleaning on holiday, give it a whirl!

Beautiful big house. Needs some maintenance.

The house is gorgeous and well stocked. We were a group of 5 mature ladies on an annual girls trip. We do a lot of cooking on these trips and the kitchen was great. Lovely fenced yard that would be great for families with young kids. A couple of items to note. It is a very upscale quiet neighborhood with a 10 PM outside limit. During our stay, the AC was not working, so it would have been nice to be outside later when it was cool. Issue was reported day 1 and maintenance came day 4 (of 5 day stay), but did not fix the AC. Also note that the lids for the hot tub and spa are old and broken and must be manually lifted. They are very heavy, so we only used it 1 time. Sadly it was one of the reasons we chose this property and we were physically unable to use it. Also the controls on the hot tub were not working. Lastly the downstairs toilet was broken. It was shut off when we arrived, so it was an existing problem that was not fixed during our stay and was inconvenient for the person sleeping down there to have to come upstairs to use a bathroom. The property would be more suited to a large group or family using it as an evening home base. The maintenance issues slightly hindered our group from enjoying our stay to the fullest for the price payed.

Disappointing with filthy swim spa

Red flags as soon as we drove up with plants growing from roof gutters. Check-in was 4 p.m. but the cleaning lady didn't leave til 7 and left a pile of dirty sheets on the card table. House was bright and spacious, but was dated, worn and not properly equipped as a "9.2" rental. It wasn't even a 6. Some toilets didn't properly flush, one shower didn't work, the first generation Keurig overfilled, the dryer handle was broken and we couldn't open. We had one tea towel to dry dishes and no pot scrubber (we bought one). 6 mismatched "wine" glasses. The frying pans should be thrown out along with some of the other Goodwill kitchenware. For a "9.2 wonderful" rental, it was anything but. As a bare minimum, it should be safe, and it wasn't. We rented this place because of the swim spa. The water was so cloudy and green, we were concerned about getting a bacterial infection. It was 4 days before we could fully use the swim spa because it had to be drained and scrubbed and refilled. I'd asked for financial consideration in lieu, the owner agreed, yet not has been forthcoming. To make matters worse, the steep stairs leading up to the swim spa have no handrails and my 89 year old father fell trying to get up the stairs. I had to go up on my hands and knees, and back out (backwards) to get out. And at night, the lights in this area were broken, making this even more unsafe. I've stayed at 7 VRBOs - all good experiences except this one. Not worth $1000/night. Duped.
