Roach Infested and Terrible Owner
I checked into the house on Friday, August 16, 2024 at approximately 4:15pm. I sent the owner a message stating that I checked in and asked what he wanted me to do with the mail. I then began to inspect the property and in the kitchen upon opening the cabinets, I saw a live roach crawling along the underside of the shelf. I closed the cabinet and opened the utensil drawer and saw a dead roaches in that drawer. As my youngest daughter has asthma and is allergic to roaches and roach eggs I need to get her out of there as soon as possible. I did not get pictures, but reached out to the owner to let him know I was leaving and why. The owner said to me "Hello Heather we actually just treated the home so you shouldn't see any living roaches but it is common to see dead ones immediately following treatment". He then proceeded to say, "promise you will be okay during your stay we just had guest checkout and they left a five star review with no issue with any bugs". I stated they may not have seen them. He also said, "Hasn't been an issue yet, did you take pictures". Once he asked if i took pictures, i knew he would not take responsibility. I had to scramble to find another place for my family and dog to stay. I ended spending an additional 1,070 to find a hotel at the last minute.I requested VRBO for a refund but was denied and so now I am still fighting this charge. I have screenshots off our conversations and the hotel receipt to show I had to find other accommodations.
