Safety Issues
When I arrived at the property, I found it nice and roomy. It had a gate security code, building code and apt code so I felt safe. It was a first floor building with a large bedroom vertical window. When I checked the window (something I wouldn’t normally do) it was unlocked and opened freely. This concerned me. I slept very uncomfortably. I went to my conference the next day and when I returned, I approached the gate and while looking for the code, a shady character approached my vehicle and asked if I needed to get in. HE then proceeded to enter the code. As I entered, he told me that he was a detailer and would detail my vehicle for “food!” I was frightened and said “No thank you” but have him $5 so that he would leave me alone. I did not feel safe as he knew the code so I entered the building quickly. I THEN discovered that the building door which required a code was open!!!!!!! My unit was the first one! The only thing that gave me comfort was that the code to MY door was my phone number and I felt sure no one but the host had it. One I entered my apt, I discovered my closet was open with a black suitcase lying there. I was ready to call police when the host advised that housekeeping had gone into the apt. In all my experiences with Vrbo, housekeeping has NEVER come in during my stay! I was only going to be there 24 more hours, couldn’t it wait? Host said supply was low but I had everything I needed.
