Pleasant stay, but needs some love
First of all, I still recommend staying here despite the 3/5 rating. The Calypso is in a great location due to its proximity to Pier Park. Great restaurants, great shopping, and Walmart/Target close for necessities.
Overall, the condo is spacious with a great view. I knocked off two starts because I think it could use some love. We had two main issues with our stay, one of which was addressed very quickly. The second bathroom shower drain was completely stopped up and water rose up past our ankles. We contacted maintenance and the issue was taken care of within the hour. Second issues was the living room light. Maintenance told us it's been an ongoing issue and they don't know how to fix it. So it wasn't resolved.
We also just didn't feel totally clean in the condo during our stay. Most of the walls are super marked up and a bit dirty. The sink has some rust on it, and the bathrooms just felt like they needed some love. The dished in the cabinets were all dirty, many of which had leftover food still stuck on. Kitchen utensils and equipment didn't feel clean, and overall felt pretty old. A good face lift would make this place a 5/5.
Lastly, this comment is in regards to the property. The elevator situation can be very rough at peak times. We had wagons full of beach toys and baby supplies to get down to the beach, and one day we waited 50 MINUTES for an elevator. Only one of three elevators was running for 22 floors.
