Basement apartment

Please note this is a basement apartment. It is small. The “living room” is the hallway to the bedroom. If people are staying in the house above you, you can hear every footstep very loudly. The basement location makes it dark. It was recently painted and you can smell that, not able to really air the smell out: lack of windows. The little eating space outside is underneath the deck, so it feels dark and cramped. The place needs some area rugs and a broom. The small vacuum they provided did not pick up all of the sand off the floor.
