Enjoyed our stay at this great property!!! Quiet, tranquil, mountain retreat…simple but with all the comforts of home. Lovingly maintained. Close to our family when we need a little more elbow room for get togethers. Hoping to return soon!!!
We nearly gave up trying to find the property, and the driveway is treacherous.
We had to vacuum dead flies in the bedroom when we arrived.
We could have used a broom to sweep the porch.
This was our paradise. Spacious and homey place in the woods in a beautiful quiet spot. All the comforts of home with a great front porch and an outbuilding perfect for lots of family outdoor time. Convenient to lots of hiking, swimming, day trips and thrifting! We will be back!
Staying in the mountains w/ a special needs child.
We loved the home. We had a neighbors boxer dog visit, 4 or 5 deer come up to front porch and 1 rabbit. The out building was a surprise with 3 tables and a restroom. It was also handicap accessible as our 31yr old daughter has cp. The only negative was we didn't get the lock combination to the front door, we texted vbro and was told we couldn't be found in system so we called manager to fine his voice mail full. After driving for 4hrs will make your patience thin..but my wife had the forsite to try texting him and he apologize for the inconvenience and gave us the combo. Very nice guy! We would love to come back some day.
As many have stated in other reviews, the pictures don’t do this place justice. There are many factors that make this an ideal getaway. The cabin has two living rooms, bedrooms upstairs, telescope to view the stars at night. The neighbors are far away and the cabin’s location is secluded but not too far from gas stations and restaurants. Definitely a place I would stay again in the future.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at this lovely property during our family Thanksgiving break. The property itself was beautiful and well-maintained, with all the necessary house necessities provided. However, there were a few minor challenges that I feel are worth mentioning.
Firstly, having only one bathroom for six people proved to be a bit of a challenge. It would have been more convenient if there were additional bathrooms available.
Additionally, the requirement to take the trash 20 minutes away was a bit inconvenient. It would have been helpful to know this beforehand so that we could plan accordingly.
Another challenge we faced was intermittent internet connectivity. While this may not be a major issue for everyone, it did pose some difficulties for us.
Parking our vehicle was also a challenge, as the driveway was quite steep and I do not own a 4-wheel drive car. It would have been beneficial to be aware of this beforehand, as it would have saved us the hassle of having to push the car up the hill to leave the property.
On a positive note, the owner of the property was extremely nice and responsive, promptly answering any questions we had. Their hospitality was greatly appreciated.
In conclusion, despite the minor challenges we encountered, our stay at this property was overall enjoyable. I would suggest that the owner consider providing information about the trash disposal and driveway challenges to future guests, as this would help them better prepare fo
This was our second stay at this cabin. It’s a beautiful area and a cozy cabin. We had fun walking the property and hanging out on the porch. There is high speed internet and a separate shelter structure with picnic tables. The host was responsive and helpful. We will definitely be back.
This was a great stay. The cabin is a nicely decorated and cozy home in a lovely private location. It has a covered front porch with rocking chairs and a swing. We had a fun time walking the trail through the woods. There is also a separate covered structure on the property with picnic tables. The cabin is clean and has fast internet. The host was helpful and accommodating. It’s a very peaceful place with a nice view and we will 100% be back again.
Nice property, secluded, beautiful views. Well stocked kitchen, Fantastic porch and outdoor areas. The pictures do not do it justice. 3 bedrooms but one is an open space, both couches have pullout beds. A great choice for the beautiful appalachian area.
We loved our stay and the photos don't do it justice! Winding mountain roads, make for a scenic ride to this home nestked in the woods. We saw deer each evening and explored a little of the area with a hike. Philip was very quick to reply to any questions and eager to make our stay enjoyable. Thank you again for a wonderful holiday weekend.
This property is so cute! It’s very isolated and such a lovely quiet location. The closest neighbor has a cute boxer that came to greet us! Of course there are spiders on the porch as it’s a house in the woods, we just ignored them but be prepared if you have a phobia! lol. The fire pit out back has several picnic tables under a gazebo type thing and even a bathroom!! Some cabins have that old musty smell but this one is so clean and inviting. We definitely will be back. :)

I'm from Macon, Georgia and enjoy reading, walking, hiking, sports of all kinds and spending time with family and the occasional friend.
Why they chose this property
Around 3,000 feet in elevation, the days are pleasant and the nights are cool. Enjoy views of the mountains from the front porch on this roughly 10 acre property. Located a short drive from the Tuckasegee River and outstanding fly fishing, the Blue Ridge Parkway and its splendid views and hiking possibilities, various waterfalls in the region and restaurants and popular brew pubs in Sylva and Dillsboro. Relative isolation or involvement - this home leaves it up to you. Family has lived in this region for 200 years, and early family settlers owned this very land as far back as we can trace.
What makes this property unique
The relative solitude, views and central location no more than an hour from so many options for fun and entertainment, this wooded property provides the peace and quiet we all enjoy along with the comforts of home.
