This was a great house for a large group. Very secluded, quiet, and peaceful with beautiful scenery. Only potential downside to mention is that if it is snowy or icy, it can be very difficult to get up and down from the house. But the owner was very responsive in trying to help us out. Would recommend
Every year my friends and I rent a cabin for New Years Eve. As our group has begun to grow with marriages and relationships, it’s gotten increasingly more difficult to find a large enough place to accommodate us. Harvey’s Landing was absolutely immaculate and spacious enough for all of us. The place was clean and had everything we needed for a couple days’ stay. The only minor hiccup we had was that the cabin runs on a water well. The previous guests had used a lot more than anticipated which left us in a pinch for an hour or two. However, this showed the great communication with the owners that ordered a water delivery the night we checked in. I would absolutely recommend anyone that’s looking for a place for a large group or get together!
We had such a fantastic weekend with our extended family. Gorgeous views, with a teeny bit of snow - just enough to make everything magical. What a great time!
Thank you for a wonderful stay! This is a lovely house, with a well stocked kitchen for preparing food for large groups. The only suggestion I would make, is it would be helpful to renters to know that that dual bedroom suite does not have the same privacy as a regular bedroom. Going back and looking at the listing I can see in the corner of one photo that the bedrooms are joined, but it was not obvious. I’m letting you know this, because I do think that it is something that would be considerate to let people know.
We tried to leave the place neat and leave everything the way you’d like it. Thank you again for a wonderful stay! This is a beautiful property.
Thank you again for a relaxing vacation!
Great place for our family of 29. Plenty of room to eat and hang out. Firepit was a hit with the kids. Had a minor maintenance issue and was fixed in 2 hours. Deck was perfect for corn hole/ does need to be repainted. Really great stay!
This house was great for our group retreat with coworkers (13 people). It has beautiful views, was clean, nice open spaces for everyone to sit together for meals and have discussions, and a large fire pit with seating. Drawbacks were that that the nearest water access for swimming was a bit far (30 minutes), yard was on the smaller side, the kitchen was not that well stocked so there were many items we expected to have but did not, like a sponge, salt, basic spices, cork screw, food storage containers, plastic wrap, etc. But overall we had a positive experience and enjoyed our time here.
The house is beautiful! We loved the view from the large windows and deck, the large kitchen, and spacious rooms. Very clean and well-kept. My group of 15 was able to sleep comfortably ( I personally wouldn’t add many additional people beyond this).
Was wonderful; the property is very neat & clean & great location for outdoor activities. The only thing I dislike is condition of the road (Rocky Bluff Lane is nit wide enough to pass through for other direction.
We had an amazing time over the course of our stay. It had enough linens, towels and plate/flatware for our big group of 25, and the different curated common spaces made it really easy to have activities ongoing in different areas. The firepit was fantastic, we really appreciated the size and the view (nevermind all the stars we could see). Easy check out too, and we had a contact number at all times for anything we needed.
Only thing worth noting since it wasn't quite clearly phrased in the listing, we had people arriving after the sun went down, and the road to get to the property is very dark and VERY steep in spots - some of us could have used our four wheel drive cars instead if we'd known. So just be advised that if it's at all rainy/icy when you travel there the road /really/ needs to be driven carefully. But even knowing what I do now, it was totally worth the hair-raising hills for every minute we all got to relax and enjoy such a stunning place. Would definitely rent again :D
Overall a great place to stay. Would like to have seen a better cleaning of the property. Found items under the couch and rugs. Overall the house was a great place to stay with a great view
We booked Harvey’s Landing at James creeks this was an amazing property it was 27 of us. We booked for a family reunion! Everyone loved it. We had family coming from Virginia and New Jersey and it was the perfect spot. The whole house is amazing and very clean! Gorgeous view! The pictures don’t do the place justice! It’s real close to seven points beach at Raystown. My family will rent out this property again!
