Great location. Close to all the best attractions. Right off Canal street, Very spacious home , I mean where else do you get 3 king size beds , wonderful value for the money and the host is very accommodating and helpful,Overall I will recommend this property highly to one and all
Plenty of room in a good neighborhood, comfy beds. Walking distance to stores and restaurants.
Kitchen and bathrooms could be cleaner. Upstairs bathroom had no hot water and you get one flush every 30 minutes, due to slow water pressure in toilet.
Overall a great stay in New Orleans!
The location of this home is great in relation to getting downtown or to Tulane. You can walk a couple blocks and get to local coffee shops or catch the streetcar to go further. The neighborhood is safe and quiet.
The property does have AC, which is 4 window units and ceiling fans. The listing shows 3 bedrooms however the downstairs “bedroom” is a bed and a desk in a converted dining room. No closet or space for storing hanging or folded clothes, and no privacy for dressing or sleeping. The two bathrooms are not cooled and do not have exhaust fans, so they get very hot with closed doors and showers. One of the upstairs bedroom curtains only cover ¾ of the window to the deck so we didn’t use that room due to lack of privacy. Parking is street parking. Neighbors on other side of the duplex had frequent loud running that vibrated the floor.
Conveniences that were missing and would be nice to have, include washcloths & bathmats with the towels, small shampoo & soap in the showers, cooking spray in the kitchen, hangars in the closets upstairs (I bought some & left them). I think this home is a work in progress, and the host was very responsive.
The good:The house is a pleasant space and we felt safe in the neighborhood. The beds were comfortable.
The misrepresentations:NOT heated. Each bedroom had a small electric space heater. It was in the 30s, we had to put them all in one room and all stay there to watch tv or eat. Could not use entire home in a normal way due to lack of heat. Downstairs bedroom is in a dining room. Everyone must walk through this room to come and go from the house. No closet or dresser. No privacy. Chose this listing as it listed a hot tub. There isn't one (Owner has since edited listing to remove). Lists 2 bathrooms, 1 half bathroom. There is no half bath. Dishes, blender, and utensils were listed. There were no pots/pans, blender, utensils, or dishes. Only some paper cups and half a box of plastic silverware. As well as 5 teacups and saucers, which were dirty and in the dishwasher. Lists Parking. Does not disclose that is fend for yourself street parking. Insufficient papergoods supplied, only one bathroom had TP upon arrival. No paper towels. Host dropped off more about 15 hours after it was promised.
The not greats: We had to buy cleaners and scrub kitchen upon arrival. Sections of counter were sticky to the touch. Construction debris piled on deck made it unappealing to use. Neighbors on other side of the house were loud (running) at all hours. Drafty. Electrical not to code. Heaters, TV and lights run on extension cords, broken wall plates. Host and VRBO not responsive to help calls
