Lorelai's Lair - Hot Tub, Private, Romantic and Pet Friendly

Welcome Home! Grab a quilt and a book, the hammock and rocking chairs on the porch have your name on it!!! High-speed Wi-Fi is now available.

Lorelai’s Lair sits at the end of the road and is a private hideaway!! As you pull up the drive, the front porch, complete with rocking chairs and hammock, greets you as soon as you step out of the car. The hot tub on the back porch is the cleanest you will find, and you can watch the sunrise and sunsets over the mountains.

Our 2 bedroom, 1½ bath has a well stocked kitchen, a family room with a wood burning fireplace, and an HD flat screen television complete with DVR. There’s a cozy corner chair for reading, ceiling fan, table for four, and TV trays to use while watching the football games.

The Master bedroom downstairs has a king bed, ceiling fan, flat screen TV, and Wii with computer games for all ages. The bathroom has a tub and shower with hotel style shower heads. Upstairs is the Queen Bed and Futon, a great place for a nap!!

Where We Are: The Lair is located in North Carolina near North Georgia, and visit close by John C. Campbell Folk School, Lake Chatuge, Young Harris, Brasstown - home of the Possum Drop, Hiawassee River, Blairsville, and Helen GA. Come stay with us and attend the Georgia Mountain Fair or the Campbell Folk School Festival. Trout fishing, canoeing, or water skiing, horseback riding too come!!

Wake up to the roosters, whippoorwills, or busy woodpeckers, and watch for the wild turkeys that occasionally come by to visit. Sometimes, you even hear the cows mooing from the pastures in Warne. Rock the morning with a cup of coffee on the front porch.

The rabbits and deer may stop by to munch on the roses!!!

Who We Are: Lorelai's Lair is named after our granddaughter Lorelai Elise Burch, our Granddaughter, who has graciously decided to share her mountain home with you, she also will share her pack-n-play, high chair and toys with our renters. We hope you enjoy our home as much as we do, we want you to feel like it's yours!!

Remember of all the paths you take, let some be of dirt!!!! Come home to relax at Lorelai's Lair.

Other annual activities are the Moonshiner's Cruiz-in, arts and craft shows, free concerts in the squares of nearby towns, concerts at the Georgia Mountain Fair, and the Fair itself. There is so much to do!! Don't forget hiking, horseback riding, and viewing wildlife and waterfalls.

Loved our visit!

We loved our stay at Lorelai's Lair! It was beautiful! Great accommodations, quiet spot, and it has all the amenities. The hot tub, grill, and fenced-in yard made for a perfect visit.

Wonderful Vacation!

My husband and I enjoyed our vacation at Lorlei's Lair! The house is adorable, comfortable and has everything needed for a relaxing, quiet time away. The hosts are wonderful and thoughtful! We look forward to returning soon!

Fantastic Cabin

This cabin was like a home away from home! It was stocked with almost everything you could need and has the most gorgeous view from the back porch! We throughly enjoyed the calm, peaceful location!

Wonderful stay in the woods!

We had a great time exploring state parks, wineries, breweries , restaurants and lakes. When we would return to the cabin we had everything we could ask for. Fully stocked kitchen, hot tub with mountain view, front porch rockers and hammock, great wifi and deer everywhere! We would definitely stay here again.

Great Cabin!

The cabin was great! It was decorated so nice, in a great location, and beautiful lot. We enjoyed smores in the fireplace and the hot tub was very relaxing. This cabin came equipped with everything you will need. We hope to come back again!

Clean Mountain Serenity

Everything about our stay was exactly as promised - the cabin was sparkling clean and well equipped for comfort (notably the crazy-comfortable couch). The fireplace was great; I loved the hot tub with mountain view; and the location was perfect for hikes (everything in the very easy to incredibly challenging range). We cannot wait to return!

Just like Home

Had a great time and everything you need is in house. Didn't fall short on anything, which also includes plenty of firewood for the fireplace. Beautiful views of both the sunrise in the morning and the mountains.Easy to get to from the main road, and very peaceful at night. Best thing of all were the great porches on both the front and the back of the cabin.

Amazing Getaway

First of all, the view is everything you dream of when you think "cabin vacation". It's a perfectly tucked away cabin but not so secluded you can't get to the store or the perfect winery in minutes. We spent most nights cooking and enjoying the hot tub or eating on the back porch. It was the perfect amount of space for 2 friends just like us. The cabin is clean, full of everything you need and once again, the view really is a must see. Thanks for our wonderful stay!!

Perfect getaway

My wife and I spent our anniversary here and we couldn't have been any happier with it. The cabin was beautiful and tucked away. We saw deer almost every morning. Very close to Crane's Creek Vineyard which we visited several times. Fenced backyard was the perfect size for our dog to let some energy out. House had great amenities - hot tub, grill, and surprisingly fast WiFi. We have absolutely no complaints about the place and would love to visit again.

Wonderful views and homey vibe...

My wife and I had an absolutely awesome time. Plenty of hiking trails within a short drive. The house felt like a second home for 5 days. Normally sleeping doesn't come easy for us at a new locale but the master bed was very comfortable. Slept great every night. The fireplace came in handy too. All good stuff. We hope to visit again in the future.

Mountain Vacation

This lair was the perfect getaway for my girlfriend, dog, and I. Close enough to Blairsville and Hiawasse, as well as day trips to the Bavarian town of Helen. Lisa had instructions for anything we needed, and was just a text or call away if we had any problems. Whether you want to spend a day at the lair in the hot tub, playing board games, letting your dog run around in the fenced in porches and backyard, or using it as a base-camp for hiking, boating, swimming, or white water rafting this is a great place to relax at.

Lorelai’s Lair - an amazing getaway

Lorelai’s Lair is a beautiful and very comfortable place to stay. A true “home away from home”. There was a welcoming bottle of wine and fresh flowers upon our arrival, cabin was pristine clean, a wonderful wood burning fireplace. Also, we really liked the skylights and large windows. Made everything so bright with excellent views. Outside incredible views with fire pit area with plenty of chairs and cut firewood. The location was easily accessible, yet private. Short drive to Hiawassee, Young Harris, Helen, Hayesville. There were dozens of nearby hiking trails of all skill levels. And, last but not least, the host, Lisa, was truly super and very quick to respond to any questions you may have. We can’t wait to return.

Super Relaxing Get-Away!

There was nothing we needed that was not provided during our stay at this wonderful cabin! The pictures really do not do it justice. The cabin was very clean and nicely decorated. The furniture was all very comfortable and inviting. The kitchen was well-stocked - cooking here was a joy - between the kitchen area and the wonderful gas grill on the deck. There were many different places to relax - from the hammock and rocking chairs on the front porch to the hot tub on the back deck. Also, the way the yard is fenced in and the front porch is gated, our dog, Cosmo, was able to have freedom to explore the cabin and back yard, while we knew he could not wander offer. We also discovered the butcher shop nearby - they cut our filets while we waited - talk about fresh! I wish I could speak more about the surrounding area. However, after stocking up at the super Ingles, we did not leave the cabin until check out time! When we left, we did drive through Brasstown to see the folk school. It is such a pretty area. Our only regret is that we did not stay longer. Thank you for opening your cabin to us. We look forward to our next stay there.

Quiet and comfortable

The cabin was clean and very comfortable. The sofa could use a good shampoo. There is seating for three people and 4 dining chairs. The bed was comfortable and the AC worked very well in 90 degree weather. The pictures in the listing are no longer accurate. Because I saw in a review that a new hot tub was purchased, I asked one month before my stay if the hot tub was installed. I was told that the deck was being extended around to the front and that the hot tub wasn’t installed yet. When I arrived, the deck was not finished. So I was very disappointed we didn’t have a hot tub. I did get the $50 fee refunded. An adjustment in the daily rate was mentioned, but I didn’t get that. I had to cancel three days and getting a refund on that was a problem. The cabin has been repainted inside and outside. There was no hammock and there was a hanging swing, but it was just on the ground. The hot tub was the only thing important to me. If any of the amenities listed are important to you, I recommend asking about them before you book. I booked four months in advance and work was not completed. Overall it was where I wanted to be for my vacation and retirement home search.

This was our second visit to Lorelei’s Lair.

This cabin comes completely furnished with everything you would need. Fireplace with lots of split firewood, comfy furniture, super comfortable beds, hot tub- and the Mountain View’s off of back porch are absolutely stunning. Wineries, endless hiking trails, antique shopping - can’t wait till next visit.

Stone’s throw from Georgia

Lorelei’s Lair is just over the Georgia/North Carolina state line in Warne, NC with a beautiful view from atop a large hill/small mountain back into the North Georgia mountains. Easy access into Young Harris, Hiawasse, and Blairsville, GA and Hayesville, NC for all your needs. Local wineries, hiking trails are all within a short drive. Or just kick back at the cabin and chill. Bring your own food and drink and you don’t need to leave, as all the other extras are already provided. Owners are very helpful and timely with any questions you might have. Clean, quiet and comfortable. Bring along your canine companions and there are amenities for them as well.

Hot tub + trails

My husband and I stayed here for four nights with our dog. During our stay, we did 46 miles of area trails. The hot tub was a blessing for our sore muscles after so many miles each day! This cabin is cute, clean, and has everything that you could need.

Our stay

This is a great cabin and area to stay in. Beautiful views and comfortable cabin. The owners are a delight to work with. They are very responsive to all requests. Your pets can come and be very comfortable. Nice fenced area and the porches are secure so they can sit out and enjoy the views with you. Highly recommend this property to anyone wanting a comfortable relaxed atmosphere. A great place to relax.

Enjoyed stay very much. Loved that at top of mountain and we're all alone

This was our second time staying. First time was an amazing getaway for me and my wife. The second time we took our two girls and they loved it. The amazing view sitting in the hot tub changed it seemed like every few minutes.

The owner's are awesome people. So very thoughtful and attentive! It was fully stocked with just about everything you could possibly need. Includef a grill and wood provided if needed for outside fire pit or inside fireplace. Really nice front deck with safety gate, hammock, and rocking chairs. The back deck was my favorite! Safety gate and fenced in area for pets or kids. That's where the grill and a nice table was. The scenery was breath taking. The very best part was the Hot tub! I saw deer several times as I enjoyed the hot tub! A very sweet gift basket greeted us on the table. 🤗 Very clean and beautifully decorated. Very convenient location to every thing we wanted to do. We are Rod and Lisa Burch from Prosperity SC. Rod was born in Hayesville, attended school there and went to Young Harris and Limestone College, he also is a Navy veteran. Lisa was born in Columbia, SC, attended Chapin High School and Limestone College. We rescue Shih Tzus and currently have 4. We are both employed by a utility and are looking very forward to retiring to Lorelai's Lair!! Lisa and Rod are members of Prosperity Rescue Squad and Lisa's an EMT-I.

We also rescue Shih Tzu dogs, the four of them love the front and back porches and walking the quiet drive to the house.

Why they chose this property

We frequently visit Hayesville where Rod grew up and his parents still live. Having rented homes there for the last couple years, we decided to buy our own and rent it when we can't be there. The area is beautiful and the people are very friendly. There is so much to do in the area, there just isn't enough time!!

I wish I were a painter to show the beauty of the area, or maybe even just a photographer. America the beautiful is the best way to describe the area.
