The restaurants, shops, and waterfront walkways of downtown Bucksport are just around the corner from this cute, classic home, where you'll be an easy morning stroll from the best of Main Street. Slide open the windows on summer days, relax outside on the deck, and savor the soft sounds of the brook running by the house.

This two-story home is wonderful for getting around on foot, with bustling Main Street (one block), the Bucksport Waterfront Walkway on the Penobscot River (one block), and the Maine Maritime Academy Center for Professional Mariner Development (one mile) all reachable on foot. Yet, it's also the perfect home base for exploring, with Castine (17 miles), Belfast (18 miles), Bangor (19 miles), and Acadia National Park (35 miles) just a few of the attractions within an easy, scenic drive.

In many ways, this home is an ideal blend of proximity to nature and familiar creature comforts. After a day spent hiking, kayaking, or sailing, return home to unwind on the deck, relax in a bit of air conditioning, or log onto the high-speed WiFi to share photos or catch up on email.

Prepare nightly dinners in the well-equipped kitchen and linger late into the evenings in the inviting living room - playing board games with your loved ones, snuggling up on the sofa, and streaming your favorite movies on the smart TV.

Downeast Maine Gateway-prime location

The rental in this quaint town offers the perfect starting point to enjoy Downeast Maine. The house is well equipped for the needs of pet owners and their pets. The bed was comfortable, bathrooms were clean, and kitchen had ample supplies, including nice touches such as kitchen basic herbs/spices. Proximity to groceries, restaurants and delicious seafood takeout was ideal. Walking distance to the habor walking path was really enjoyable. We would choose this location again.

Cozy and welcoming!

Everything was perfect for our visit. I was traveling with friends from Wales. They loved it. When we weren’t out and about, we were relaxing on the patio enjoying the sounds of the brook.

Peaceful comfort

This place was absolutely adorable. The location was just far enough off the beaten path to provide comfort and tranquility. You could sit on the patio and listen to the brook running next to this property. The rooms were comfy.

Very Clean and Dog Friendly

Great home! Very neat and clean throughout. One bedroom is huge which worked well for our xl dog crate. Our dog also made use of downstairs dog bed and bowls. Kitchen is very nice though we only cooked once. Area is rural and nearby restaurants not open early in week but grocery store is very close. Nice walking path by rhe river.
