Its ok property but the details...
Enter the property through a lock that was very fidgety and took many attempts to get it to operate properly. The space was reasonably welcoming and inviting and had adequate kitchen and amenities however you could distinctly tell that there is no effort to allow much natural lighting to enter the space and despite being facing an open lake it is quite dark. The bed was just comfortable enough to sleep on but not when I would want to spend considerable time sleeping on and had considerable wear and tear on it and the way the bedroom was laid out I found myself bumping my toes on things constantly. During my third morning there was a leak of smelly fluid that came from what appeared to be the boiler room and I reached out to Craig immediately and I was met with the response that it would be dealt with but not much in the way of an apology or any empathy for my situation as I had to relocate to a local coffee shop to work that morning and it was a major inconvenience. I had to throw out some of my clothes as a result of the smelly fluid reaching my luggage and causing an odor that I did not want to have to deal with and was unable to return to the suite due to smell. Maybe this is a minor detail but there were dog poos all over the lawn which detracted from my overall experience of coming to a homely environment to stay presentation wise. The faucet was loose the towel rack, loose. toilet had trouble flushing. got clogged multiple times overall space could use more care
The property was clean and the kitchen was very well appointed. The property was too dark for us (but we like lots of light) - it is the bottom level of a house with windows facing only south under a large deck for the upper level sticking out several feet from the house. However the view once out on the patio (also under the deck) was lovely. We thought from the pictures in the listing that it had more light. There was not much sound barrier between the suite and upstairs - the people upstairs were not overly loud but we could hear their TV well. The skeleton bride and groom in the living room were a little creepy for us, but would be absolutely perfect for hallowe'en fans.
Such a pleasant cozy spot overlooking the lake. A quiet neighborhood. An absolute gem!!đâ¤ď¸ and the spooky season decorations were a most hilarious touch!! Love it!!
The property was in a quiet location. It was easy to book and good contact with the owners. Had everything we needed. Our two year old wasnât sure what to think of the life sized skeletons at first but he got used to them quickly and found them funny. The bed was very comfy and the patio was lovely for morning tea and breakfast. We would stay again
We enjoyed our stay at Crystal Hollows. It was very clean. We loved the Halloween theme and the views of the lake. Easy self check in. My only suggestion is for the sofa bed. It was quite uncomfortable and could use an update or pillow topper. I was glad it was my kids on there and not me!
We loved the view and the porch overlooking the lake. We appreciated the haunted house theme as that kept it memorable. I was able to easily walk to the shopping center in 10 minutes, though I stopped often to take pictures of the lake and setting. I doubt I ever get back to Vancouver from Ohio, but if I did, would definitely stay here again.
We stayed in this place for one night when I took my family to visit Nanaimo.
Itâs a cozy and nice place with super nice view.
The decoration is special. My son had to ask me to cover the skeleton at night because he said heâs a little bit scared of them. đ
The location is very convenient as well.
In all, I give 100% recommend of the place to anyone who is going to visit Nanaimo.
Very clean, spacious, well equipped suite. Not a big fan of the "Hunted House" decoration though. The stove fan was very loud. Outside deck was a bonus! Enjoyed having coffee there in the morning. It was a pleasant stay over all.
Thank you!
Great communication from the hosts and a pleasure to deal with. Great value and walkable distance to some amenities. Wouldnât hesitate to book again! Thanks Craig and Tricia!
We stayed here for 6 days while getting settled into our new home. After driving across the country, this was the perfect place. It backs onto a gorgeous landscape of lake and mountain ranges, and feels a bit like a cabin, with the viewing deck being my most favourite part.
The privacy is unmatched, as no one can really see in with the way it's situated. All amenities you could possibly need, and quite spacious for the two of us. Comfy beds, soft sheets, quality pillows. The couch is big and cozy for two.
We found it to be very quiet, and we didn't have any issues with dog toys dropping above us. In fact, the dog was quite sweet and friendly!
Great spot, and will absolutely recommend to friends and family when they visit!

This was a very beautiful, neat, quaint, well-stocked accommodation with a lovely view and the hosts were communicative and welcoming. We enjoyed our stay here and were able to relax and wind down at the end of each day.
Our favorite Nanaimo stay yet! Beautiful view of Long Lake from the patio. Fun homey vibe, comfy beds, lots of hot water and had everything else we needed! Would love to stay here again!
Great view with all the amenities needed. Easy to check in and very quiet.
