South Portland Cottage

What a darling and well-appointed cottage this is! The neighborhood is quiet but conveniently located to attractions that this part of Maine offers. Linda, the property owner, was attentive if we needed anything. This is a perfect place for one adult. The double bed makes for cozy sleeping arrangements, but I knew this ahead. The cottage is spacious and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again and again.

Maine

We had a lovely vacation. The apartment was very comfortable and convenient for bicycling the Eastern Rail Trail. Easy in and out to Portland.

Adorable, cozy, comfortable place to stay

What it lacks in curb appeal it makes up for on the inside. I must say I wasn't wowed by the neighbors, but once inside, that didn't matter. The unit is wonderful. I was not on vacation, rather I live in Maine and needed a temporary place to stay. It was perfect for that. Clean, convenient, quiet, adorable, and so comfortable. Everything I needed.

Sweet Spot, Indeed!

Sweet Spot is bright, cheery, and open. It is a second-floor dwelling, but it conveys a tree-house aura, above the fray, secluded, and quiet. The rooms are thoughtfully decorated with the right number of furnishings to fit the rooms and to keep them spacious. Linda has also added so many nice touches to the residence like the paintings and the personally made stone knobs for the bathroom cabinet. During our three-week stay, we enjoyed opening the windows and appeciating the gentle mix of the sun and wind. It was a pleasure to be in the home at night or during the day. Arriving and leaving the home were worry-free and easy. Linda is a wonderful hostess, present nearby but not hovering. She beats Siri if you have a question: informative on the first day, lots of colorful notes to remind you how to take care of her dwelling, a back-up list of emergency contacts, a helpful, personalized booklet of where to eat, drink, and be merry, and ready to respond promptly to a text. Thank you, Linda!

Amazing stay!

Everything about this place was great! We were very close to all things in the city of Portland and in a safe neighborhood. The host was very helpful and informative. The place was so perfect and cozy and made us feel at home. Could not have asked for a better experience.

Why they chose this property

Conveniently close to all that the greater Portland area has to offer! Just a couple of blocks from the Greenbelt. Minutes from wonderful restaurants, night life, beaches, lighthouses etc. Too many things to do and see to list!!!
This quiet neighborhood is just 2 blocks from the greenbelt walkway.
The trail treats walkers, runners and cyclists to three notable waterfront vistas as it winds through the neighborhoods of Ferry Village, Knightville, Pleasantdale and ends at Bug Light. Along that 3 mile trail you'll find several restaurants, great shops (if you take a side trip around Millcreek) and some grocery stores.

What makes this property unique

Bright small apartment on the second floor in a classic century old home with period details. I live in the downstairs apartment.
Eclectically decorated and comfortable with everything you need for a wonderful stay.
The apartment is the perfect size to accommodate one or two people. It has a full size bed, living room, sunroom, dining room as well as full kitchen.
There is a King Koil luxury twin 20 inch high air mattress for those that need a second bed.
There is a flat screen Roku tv and wi-fi for streaming purposes.
