The home was a perfect place for family to prepare for - and wind down after - an interment ceremony at Arlington. Outdoor area was awesome for post-ceremony meal. Comfortable Very good location with room for all.
I LOVE this house. It has so much character. It worked well for our group of four couples and one single. But it could accommodate more if permitted. I would love to rent it again in nice weather to enjoy the fire pit and outdoor areas. We assisted Wreaths Across America laying wreaths at Arlington and enjoyed Old Town. Both were easy to get to from this property.House includes all the basics including comfortable bedding and a well stocked kitchen. We are used to taking disposables with us so we didn’t miss much.
The neighborhood and property has a lot of character and charm. The property management team was very attentive and helped address any concerns that we had.
The house is located in a very quiet neighbourhood, surrounded withe trees. the house is very old and dark and could use some TLC.
The layout of the house is somewhat surprising, you need to go through sleeping rooms to get to other sleeping rooms or go through the outside. Some bathrooms are very old and water is leaking into the bathtub. Overall we enjoyed our stay but we would not advice long stay
Overall, a very nice stay. No real major issues. The areas for improvement have been noted by other stayers but are still there and have not been addressed. We experienced control units ( Ceiling Fans ) not working WiFi issues. But overall, a nice place. If the items people have stated were addressed this would be a plus.
The house was quirky, but very delightful to stay in. The home met our needs very well. The setting was lovely. The living room was comfortable and provided a great gathering spot with a beautiful woodland view out the window. All of us staying there thought the residence met our needs very well. Thank you host!
Leaky faucet in bathroom at head of stairs. Need to provide more backup toilet paper.
Our group of 5 couples stayed for 2 nights over New Year's Eve weekend. It's a beautiful, historic home. Since it was built in 1930, it is quirky....but, in a good way. Lots of different bedrooms (5) in different areas including a small attached apartment with its own living room, mini fridge, and coffee maker. If you like that feeling of staying in a historic, older home, then this house is perfect for you! Nice, large dining room where the 10 us played a fun card game. Every bedroom didn't have a TV, but that was no issue for us. Large TV in the family room and enough seating for 10 people. Streaming on that TV, so each evening we watched a movie. Lots of privacy---huge yard and the house is sheltered in the trees. You can't see it from the street. I would love to go back during warmer months so we can enjoy the outdoors. Lots of room for kids to play outside---I even saw a trampoline. We ubered to Old Town Alexandria. A short 2 mile ride, so the house is in a good location. Several restaurants and a grocery store were only 1/2 mile away. Good for us because we all took Amtrak to Alexandria for our getaway. There are some very minor things that come with an older home (some faucets leaked/didn't work), but that was minor to us. The host was quick to respond with any questions/concerns.
