My husband and I stayed here for 10 days in January. The setting and location was ideal for us and our pup: beautiful landscaping and sunsets, walks (Faliz Paseos Nature Preserve is very close) and short drives to all we wanted to do: biking, restaurants, golf. The feel of the house is true "hacienda", so comfortable and well supplied. There were a few maintenance issues, which the owner is addressing. Andrew is very easy to communicate with! The pool is not heated, but you can pay (typical for rentals in Tuscon) for him to heat it and although the hot tub was not heated initially, the owner sent someone out right away to help us-no charge to heat the hot tub. Plenty of Saguaro Cactus, coyotes singing and javelina nearby! Such a fun and memorable (first time in Tuscon) stay!!
This was a fantastic place to stay, both for visiting Tucson and exploring Saguaro NP. In the master bedroom, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom spacious. We only stayed in the master bedroom, but the second bedroom was nice as well. The kitchen was large, had everything we needed, and the washer and dryer are right off the kitchen.
The backyard and landscaping were fantastic. We visited in the winter so the hot tub was wonderful. Saguaros and prickly pears throughout the wash behind the house made for a nice backdrop. Highly recommended!

Why not to rent this property
I communicated our priority of a good hot tub with the host before the trip and it was assured as such. It did not work though nor did the pool! This was a huge disappointment and I discussed it with the host who told me he would refund us. Despite his word, VRBO intervention, and proof of the promised refund, none was given though it was promised numerous times. Also, the master bedroom structure has a loud cracking noise around the clock interrupting sleep and any peace and quiet. It occurs every hour of the day and night. Not good. The wildlife was touted but all we saw was a small rattlesnake right at the front door. Got a photo.Location is good for mountain biking, but given the cracking noise, dysfunctional hot tub/pool, and the lack of honesty of the host I would recommend looking elsewhere for your VRBO. Sorry to have to say it.
