About this property

North Coast Village- 2 bedroom 2 bath FURNISHED MONTHLY ONLY Minimum 60 nights

My 2020 Remodel was completed in June of 2020 during the pandemic. After having to cancel all reservations that year I switched to a 60 night minimum stay and that continues to this day. Therefore, this condo is avail for reservations that meet or exceed 60 continuous nights. Please check my calendar for open months. Guests in possession may choose to extend their stay and will have priority over new guests. I highly encourage you to contact me before you book to discuss any current Covid regulations as they can change quickly Pricing shown is based on 2 or fewer person occupancy. A maximum of 4 persons will be accepted for this longer term rental - however the price will be adjusted for each person over the base of 2 persons.
You may book starting any day of the week or month so long as your stay is at least 31 consecutive nights. There is no tax on rentals that exceed 30 nights. Rates are based on 2 or fewer guests and infants do count.

Please be aware that both private amenities and public use areas, including the beach, may have restrictions placed on them by the Governor of CA at any time and our association is mandated to follow them. There are currently no restrictions or mask wearing mandated in CA. The Home Owners Association can and will restrict access, or deny access to our common area pools, gyms, spas and fitness areas if deemed necessary due to Covid 19. No refunds are offered if you are unable to 'enjoy' your visit to our area. Please ask to review the rules for amenity use before you book.

Here is what I had done during the 6 month remodel period that started Jan 2020: All 'popcorn' was removed from ceilings and re-textured. All new kitchen and bathroom cabinets and vanities. The condo was repainted. All new crown molding - new blinds throughout - new flooring throughout - all new kitchen (everything new) except the refrigerator. All baby equipment has been removed and is now available only upon advance request. Sleeping futons are now removed and avail only upon request. I replaced most of the bedding, linens, pillows, duvets, towels etc. Some of the kitchen equipment was replaced and some was kept, if it was in good condition. The same thing for furniture - I kept the good stuff and removed the things that were worn out. TV's were replaced with all flat screens in 2016 - vcr and combo units have been removed. There are at least 2 DVD players. No Stereos - they rust too quickly. I am providing temporary housing for families in transition, traveling nurses and physicians, military on TDY, retirees escaping harsher climates either Summer or Winter, and traveling business persons on temporary assignments. During summer and winter periods a 60 night minimum term will apply.

Stroll down to the seawall at sunset with your bottle of wine or champagne- a couple of plastic glasses - and your binoculars. If it is winter - you will likely get a good view of some whales passing by en-route to their winter homes in Mexico - If it is summer you will be dazzled by the array of boogie borders and surfers dotting the surf line in our world famous short board beach. Any time of year you will be calmed by the pounding of the surf at the base of our seawall and the fantastic almost spiritual sunsets we enjoy nearly every day.

Perhaps you can end your day with a workout in the gym and a few minutes in one of the saunas - or try your hand at our putting green, or in the ping pong centers. You can bbq outside all year long at the professional bbq center next to the main pool.

Most everyone travels with their tablet, phablet, Iphone, Android, Kindle or other hand held device that streams content. Effective May 1, 2021 our complex began providing high speed COX CABLE BROADBAND HIGH SPEED INTERNET. Each of you can utilize the WiFi to access your individual device content in the comfort of your own bedroom, the living room together or on the patio areas. Wifi is an included amenity - however speeds are not guaranteed.

I have titled the 2 bdrm cottage style condo the Secret Garden bungalow because the location within the complex is in an amazing little jungle of tropical trees and foliage - not unlike what you see in Hawaii The deck literally overhangs the main entry waterfall. There is a gated private 100 foot deep garden between us and Pacific Street. There is no access to the public at large to this secret garden - it is gated all the way around. If you click the satellite button the location pin is the same for everyone, just look to the right and we are the little building on the East boundary. There are huge tropical trees around our building and plenty of shade from summer sun. Look at the balcony pictures. This unit is not an ocean view. It is closer to the railroad tracks than the waterfront units - and you will get more train rumble here, but generally no tooting as our complex is not adjacent to any rr crossing. I have not had a guest complaints about train noise in years - I presume the reason is my guests are properly informed in advance of booking, and can choose to rent or not. If train noise is an issue for you- please look for another unit as I want all of my guests to be happy with the selection they have made.

This is an upstairs end unit with no one above. I do have one unit below me and one common wall to the North. There is no other attached condo on 3 sides. That means extra windows - including skylights -and less 'neighbor' noise to bother you day or night. Keep in mind there are 550 units here so you will hear normal conversation and movements as people move about the complex. Our pricing reflects the location within the complex - not the quality of my condo.

In this cottage bungalow there is 1050 sq feet of living space all on one floor with 2 full bedrooms and 2 full baths on one side of the unit, and a full kitchen, dining, living room -plus an outside balcony deck with a custom dining counter on the other side. A doorway shuts off the bedroom side which gives even more privacy and peace if someone needs a nap! I have a walk in kitchen with a small table for your toddlers or preschoolers. There is a dining room table that seats 4, and bar counter too.

The Master Bedroom has a Cal King bed - mission style furniture - - a twin sized convertible chair bed from IKEA - and a wall mounted HD SMART flatscreen TV with dual BlueRay/DVD player - and a console with an HDMI pigtail for your personal attachments. - The master bedroom has a private bathroom with sink, shower and toilet and a couple of closets. The 2nd bedroom has a Spring Air queen bed - dresser - another wall HD Flat Screen TV with DVD player and a wall mounted console with an HDMI pigtail for your personal attachments (xbox) . The 2nd bathroom is just outside in the common hallway between the two bedrooms it has a full tub, shower sink and toilet. There is one portable AC unit in the master bedroom vented through the window. Each bedroom has a ceiling fan as does the living room.

The Living room area had new furniture in 2013 - the full size couch is not a sofa sleeper. However the navy blue loveseat is (Macy's 54" wide) a Twin sofa sleeper.

In addition to both bedrooms I also installed a 2016 flat screen HD smart tv in the living room. There is an HDMI cord for attaching your own xbox console. Cox Cable Expanded Coverage is provided through my HOA dues to all the TV's in the condo.
My kitchen is fully equipped. I have a full size range, oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven. Everything major is replaced new with the exception of the refrigerator.
The pictures shown are accurate with the exception of the vertical blinds. All but one vinyl blind has been replaced with insulated drapes. This modification took place in 2023.
Getting around:
New to the area is a WalMart Neighborhood Market - and right next door to that is a 99cent Store. Those are located off Mission Blvd about 2 miles away. Walmart stocks inexpensive boogie boards year round. Another is off of Jefferson Blvd just off Highway 78 heading East toward Vista. Costco located on Palomar Airport Road in Carlsbad is 10 minutes away. A mini mart is located 5 minutes away at the harbor and another one about 1 mile away (Pappy's Market). A small mom and pop market is on Coast Highway (Red and White Market).

There are 5 major airports all within a 2 hour drive including San Diego International (SAN), Santa Ana John Wayne (SNA) Ontario International (ONT) Palomar Airport (8 miles away) BUR 1:45 away and LAX 1:45 away. Almost all of the airports - connect in some way to the rail way stations although the further away the more tedious a transfer might become. The easiest routes are SNA and SAN - both offer transfers to the Amtrak and Metrolink stations. If you take Amtrak or Metrolink to Union Station in downtown LA - you can transfer directly to a FLYAWAY bus that departs every 30 minutes with the exception of the wee hours. The bus is presently under $10 to go from Union station to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Amtrak and Metrolink also go to San Diego International (SAN) and reasonably close to Orange County Airport (SNA).

When you are considering your travel needs, your wallet will be pleased, your nerves will be soothed, and hey it's safe to drink the water too! Please read our guest reviews and leave one too!

Well stocked

We love the Oceanside area. The North Coast Village condos are great. This particular condo was the best stocked with Kitchen items and cleaning products. The grounds are spectacular and access to beach about a 2 minute walk. The owner was very helpful.

Amazing property

This place is beautiful. I stayed here for almost 3 months for a project i was working on and it made it comfortable to be away from my family for such an extended period. 5 minute walk to the beach. Gym is amazing. I highly recommend a stay here. I will be back.

Great Condo

We were very pleased with the condo. The owner was very responsive to our request for repairs and other concerns we had. Location was excellent. We had no problems with the train, some noise but not enough to disturb us. Spent 3 months enjoying the beach and pickleball. Coming back next year.

G2 Cottage

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the G2 cottage. The property was just as described in the listing, so I knew exactly what to expect. Cindy was very responsive and kind both before and during my stay. The cottage was cozy, clean, and had everything you could need- especially in the kitchen area. The renovations she had done recently are very nice and made the place feel even more up to date. I loved the location, as you are a short walk from the pier and the harbor. I would definitely return to the G2 cottage, as well as recommend it to everyone.

Great location

We really loved the place and Cynthia was more than willing to answer all of our questions. She kept us updated with HOA rules as they were changing. I really enjoyed talking with her. The two bedroom and two bath, along with the Lycksele Livas sleeper chairs, allowed our family plenty of room. The couch was incredibly comfortable. If you wanted to take a nap, it was lights out. The courtyard are reminded us of Hawaii. Beautiful place to stay.

Oceanside Stay

We enjoyed our stay at Cindy's condo. It isn't new, but we had everything we needed including a very comfy bed. The grounds were lush and well kept. The hot tub was a favorite spot if ours. There is a train that goes by...but, it didn't bother us.

Great family vacation spot!

We loved the condo! It was nice and relaxed with lots of space! Walking distance to a nice beach and lots of yummy restaurants! Nice ocean side jogging near by also. 20 minutes to Legoland. We would stay here again for sure! Reasonable price for all you get!

not up to par with other condo's

THE TRAIN would vibrate the condo, late into the evening. noisy. next to the guard shack and the lack of six full size sleeping spots, give this a single star (they had mats like you would find in a gym for the living room sleeping) Owners should buy a pull out sofa like the rest of the condo's. The silverware and cooking items were dismal. The condo is dated and yet the master bedroom bed was comfortable. The a/c was nice too in the master.

All around good, a little warm at times

We really enjoyed our stay. The location is great, really close to the beach and plenty of places and things to do in the area. The farmers market is on Thursday mornings with wonderful foods. The evening market, full of street foods, and music. The condo is nice and clean and having the beach equipment was very convenient. The only reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is the condo got quite warm at times and the AC unit that is in the master bedroom had a hard time cooling the place down. It was also quite loud so difficult to sleep with the AC running. This was fairly minor and all around we enjoyed our stay and would stay again, and recommend.

Owner was very considerate, well prepared and the condo was a pleasure to stay in. The condo association takes some getting used to (very strict rules---a little overwhelming) and is the reason for the 4 versus 5 stars.

Clean but not our favorite

Our experience with VRBO was a disaster! We paid the deposit and reserved a property 9 months in advance of a family reunion. One month prior to the date of our reservation our credit card was charged for the final payment, but when we emailed to give the names of who would check in and pick up the keys we learned the property had been sold and we had no reservation!! The prior owner was helpful in getting VRBO to refund the final payment and returned our deposit, but we were still left with no where to stay 4 weeks from our expected arrival. There were obviously few 2-bedroom properties to choose from at that late date. We were not impressed with this property. It was clean enough, but far from the beach, had very few amenities, and the few towels were what you would expect from a cheap motel. We had family members from all over the country staying at North Coast Village in several properties and this was definitely bottom of the list. I would say "you get what you pay for" except that the cost of this property was more than others we rented that were far better. However, we had a great time at North Coast Village, and will stay there again, just in another property.

Three minute walk to the pool, and the beach, short walk to the pier and the dock area which has fantastic seafood restaurants . Close to numerous attractions, movie theaters, miniature golf anything imaginable for a family to enjoy. The condo is right outside the guard shack parking was perfect inside a covered garage with the sign parking space. The condo had all amenities pots pans cooking and cleaning supplies.we definitely would recommend this place I am I am planning on returning next year.

California in the backyard

My wife and I truly enjoyed our stay at Gregg and Cindy's rental. The scenery was so pretty and couldn't ask for a better place to walk out the door to the beach to watch the sunset. The town of Oceanside and its' Pier was not to far to see everyday and explore the day life and nightlife with all the places to visited within. The unit was very clean and felt like a home. It was nice to come back to unwind and way better than any hotel room you would be returning to at the end of the day. We definitely will use Gregg and Cindy again for a stay here again or any of their other units they have. :)))

Great Stay

The unit was exactly as described on VRBO. The owners were very responsive from the minute we booked through the end of our stay. The unit is one of the few in the complex with air conditioning, which is a real bonus if its a hot summer! Thanks for the hospitality!

Beautiful & Pristinely Maintained

This was a wonderful location and an extremely well maintained unit and community-super comfortable beds! We enjoyed the pool and hot tub and our daughter loved feeding the koi fish daily! It was an easy five minute walk through the town house community right to the shore. Cindy and Gregg had everything you needed to enjoy a day at the beach (soft cooler, wheeled cart, chairs, beach towels, etc.). There are good restaurants within walking distance (most less than a half mile and some other nice choices within two miles toward the center of town) and we even walked to the Amtrak station and took this rail to the San Diego Zoo one day. The beach has great waves for surfing and you can also enjoy a morning jog along the beach to the Pier. On the way back you can grab a water and a good cup of coffee at this cute cafe (Pier View). If you are staying on a Thursday-there is a great farmer's market in the a.m. (you have to try the crepes-delicious!) and another street market in the evening; both have great food and some interesting vendors/wares. Like other folks have commented, there are train tracks across the street-though honestly-it did not bother us at all. If we stayed longer, we probably would have even enjoyed the community recreation room and played some ping pongl-just ran out of time! We would definitely return-thank you Cindy and Gregg:-) The Olivers

OMG! this complex is amazing! it is so lush and tropical feeling with the water features and vegetation, all the decks and the coy pond! There is so much to do and see just within the boundaries of the complex! The ocean is so close, and the views are incredible! Walking distance to the Oceanside pier, the marina to the north has many dining options, we will definitely be going there again!

Two-bedroom Well-stocked Condo

We really enjoyed the condo--very roomy, very comfortable! It was great having two bedrooms, and the beds were so comfortable--a King and a Queen!. The kitchen was so well stocked we didn't need to bring anything more from home, and there were tons of beach equipment available for families. Cindy was immediately responsive to any questions and was always so helpful. The grounds are beautifully maintained, with a pool and a gym, covered parking, laundry room, etc. We loved walking through on our way to the beach each morning. The beach is clean and the pier is only about half a mile away. We walked to it many mornings. Oceanside is a great town, where life is centered around its pier and harbor--and the weather is cool! We loved every moment of our stay!

Great place for kids

Large space to relax in. Much has been put into making it function well for families with young kids. Playpen, toddler bed, games, beach toys even a life jacket. Beds are very comfy, and wifi helps keep you connected. Great place to stay.

Here I am with my two boys Oct 16, 2010 - at North Coast Village near the koi pond - excited to be here for my niece's wedding which was held on the seawall with the reception in the complex private party room.

Why they chose this property

I live in Tahoe in a small ski town near Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley. Our winters are long - and snowy. Yes, we are all 3 avid skiers. We love the snow - but we also love the incredibly nice weather of San Diego County where my sister and her family live. So back in 1987 I bought into our first beachfront condo - I needed to rent it to make payments and so a business was born.

As a flight attendant for 49 years now - I feel have a good handle on what it takes to provide a comfortable rental home.

due to covid 19 not all community amenities will be available at any given time. I am currently renting for periods that exceed 30 continuous nights- which you may enjoy with your family members. Some amenities are available only to LONG term rentals such as mine.

What makes this property unique

Legoland, Disneyland, Wild Animal Park and other attractions such as the Temecula Wineries and local golf course are subject to closures.
- we have over 30 golf courses close by - some world famous - others just notably nice. All amenities are a reasonable drive or train distance from this complex.

We have some seniors who stay and who come by train - walk everywhere they need or want to go- and return home by train - they don't need a car to enjoy the beach. You can order grocery delivery .. so if you are not driving - it's not the end of the world. That's a big plus as you remain active and start into your golden years. I have friends who are on a budget and come down by air- take the train from the airport - and do the same thing .. so they can avoid the extra expenses of a car. This is really a unique and wonderful place with so much to offer every age group and every budget.
