My 2020 Remodel was completed in June of 2020 during the pandemic. After having to cancel all reservations that year I switched to a 60 night minimum stay and that continues to this day. Therefore, this condo is avail for reservations that meet or exceed 60 continuous nights. Please check my calendar for open months. Guests in possession may choose to extend their stay and will have priority over new guests. I highly encourage you to contact me before you book to discuss any current Covid regulations as they can change quickly Pricing shown is based on 2 or fewer person occupancy. A maximum of 4 persons will be accepted for this longer term rental - however the price will be adjusted for each person over the base of 2 persons.
You may book starting any day of the week or month so long as your stay is at least 31 consecutive nights. There is no tax on rentals that exceed 30 nights. Rates are based on 2 or fewer guests and infants do count.
Please be aware that both private amenities and public use areas, including the beach, may have restrictions placed on them by the Governor of CA at any time and our association is mandated to follow them. There are currently no restrictions or mask wearing mandated in CA. The Home Owners Association can and will restrict access, or deny access to our common area pools, gyms, spas and fitness areas if deemed necessary due to Covid 19. No refunds are offered if you are unable to 'enjoy' your visit to our area. Please ask to review the rules for amenity use before you book.
Here is what I had done during the 6 month remodel period that started Jan 2020: All 'popcorn' was removed from ceilings and re-textured. All new kitchen and bathroom cabinets and vanities. The condo was repainted. All new crown molding - new blinds throughout - new flooring throughout - all new kitchen (everything new) except the refrigerator. All baby equipment has been removed and is now available only upon advance request. Sleeping futons are now removed and avail only upon request. I replaced most of the bedding, linens, pillows, duvets, towels etc. Some of the kitchen equipment was replaced and some was kept, if it was in good condition. The same thing for furniture - I kept the good stuff and removed the things that were worn out. TV's were replaced with all flat screens in 2016 - vcr and combo units have been removed. There are at least 2 DVD players. No Stereos - they rust too quickly. I am providing temporary housing for families in transition, traveling nurses and physicians, military on TDY, retirees escaping harsher climates either Summer or Winter, and traveling business persons on temporary assignments. During summer and winter periods a 60 night minimum term will apply.
Stroll down to the seawall at sunset with your bottle of wine or champagne- a couple of plastic glasses - and your binoculars. If it is winter - you will likely get a good view of some whales passing by en-route to their winter homes in Mexico - If it is summer you will be dazzled by the array of boogie borders and surfers dotting the surf line in our world famous short board beach. Any time of year you will be calmed by the pounding of the surf at the base of our seawall and the fantastic almost spiritual sunsets we enjoy nearly every day.
Perhaps you can end your day with a workout in the gym and a few minutes in one of the saunas - or try your hand at our putting green, or in the ping pong centers. You can bbq outside all year long at the professional bbq center next to the main pool.
Most everyone travels with their tablet, phablet, Iphone, Android, Kindle or other hand held device that streams content. Effective May 1, 2021 our complex began providing high speed COX CABLE BROADBAND HIGH SPEED INTERNET. Each of you can utilize the WiFi to access your individual device content in the comfort of your own bedroom, the living room together or on the patio areas. Wifi is an included amenity - however speeds are not guaranteed.
I have titled the 2 bdrm cottage style condo the Secret Garden bungalow because the location within the complex is in an amazing little jungle of tropical trees and foliage - not unlike what you see in Hawaii The deck literally overhangs the main entry waterfall. There is a gated private 100 foot deep garden between us and Pacific Street. There is no access to the public at large to this secret garden - it is gated all the way around. If you click the satellite button the location pin is the same for everyone, just look to the right and we are the little building on the East boundary. There are huge tropical trees around our building and plenty of shade from summer sun. Look at the balcony pictures. This unit is not an ocean view. It is closer to the railroad tracks than the waterfront units - and you will get more train rumble here, but generally no tooting as our complex is not adjacent to any rr crossing. I have not had a guest complaints about train noise in years - I presume the reason is my guests are properly informed in advance of booking, and can choose to rent or not. If train noise is an issue for you- please look for another unit as I want all of my guests to be happy with the selection they have made.
This is an upstairs end unit with no one above. I do have one unit below me and one common wall to the North. There is no other attached condo on 3 sides. That means extra windows - including skylights -and less 'neighbor' noise to bother you day or night. Keep in mind there are 550 units here so you will hear normal conversation and movements as people move about the complex. Our pricing reflects the location within the complex - not the quality of my condo.
In this cottage bungalow there is 1050 sq feet of living space all on one floor with 2 full bedrooms and 2 full baths on one side of the unit, and a full kitchen, dining, living room -plus an outside balcony deck with a custom dining counter on the other side. A doorway shuts off the bedroom side which gives even more privacy and peace if someone needs a nap! I have a walk in kitchen with a small table for your toddlers or preschoolers. There is a dining room table that seats 4, and bar counter too.
The Master Bedroom has a Cal King bed - mission style furniture - - a twin sized convertible chair bed from IKEA - and a wall mounted HD SMART flatscreen TV with dual BlueRay/DVD player - and a console with an HDMI pigtail for your personal attachments. - The master bedroom has a private bathroom with sink, shower and toilet and a couple of closets. The 2nd bedroom has a Spring Air queen bed - dresser - another wall HD Flat Screen TV with DVD player and a wall mounted console with an HDMI pigtail for your personal attachments (xbox) . The 2nd bathroom is just outside in the common hallway between the two bedrooms it has a full tub, shower sink and toilet. There is one portable AC unit in the master bedroom vented through the window. Each bedroom has a ceiling fan as does the living room.
The Living room area had new furniture in 2013 - the full size couch is not a sofa sleeper. However the navy blue loveseat is (Macy's 54" wide) a Twin sofa sleeper.
In addition to both bedrooms I also installed a 2016 flat screen HD smart tv in the living room. There is an HDMI cord for attaching your own xbox console. Cox Cable Expanded Coverage is provided through my HOA dues to all the TV's in the condo.
My kitchen is fully equipped. I have a full size range, oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven. Everything major is replaced new with the exception of the refrigerator.
The pictures shown are accurate with the exception of the vertical blinds. All but one vinyl blind has been replaced with insulated drapes. This modification took place in 2023.
Getting around:
New to the area is a WalMart Neighborhood Market - and right next door to that is a 99cent Store. Those are located off Mission Blvd about 2 miles away. Walmart stocks inexpensive boogie boards year round. Another is off of Jefferson Blvd just off Highway 78 heading East toward Vista. Costco located on Palomar Airport Road in Carlsbad is 10 minutes away. A mini mart is located 5 minutes away at the harbor and another one about 1 mile away (Pappy's Market). A small mom and pop market is on Coast Highway (Red and White Market).
There are 5 major airports all within a 2 hour drive including San Diego International (SAN), Santa Ana John Wayne (SNA) Ontario International (ONT) Palomar Airport (8 miles away) BUR 1:45 away and LAX 1:45 away. Almost all of the airports - connect in some way to the rail way stations although the further away the more tedious a transfer might become. The easiest routes are SNA and SAN - both offer transfers to the Amtrak and Metrolink stations. If you take Amtrak or Metrolink to Union Station in downtown LA - you can transfer directly to a FLYAWAY bus that departs every 30 minutes with the exception of the wee hours. The bus is presently under $10 to go from Union station to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Amtrak and Metrolink also go to San Diego International (SAN) and reasonably close to Orange County Airport (SNA).
