Perfect base

My friend and I stayed one week at the Historic Hideaway in June. We enjoyed our stay very much. The place is clean, comfortable, well equipped, very quiet and at walking distance to the city centre. The apartment was a perfect base to visit (in our case, by foot, bus and train) Cork and its surroundings.

Great apartment!

We stayed at the Historic Hideaway for two nights with another couple. The apartment was clean and well decorated and we loved the exposed stone walls. We weren’t going to attempt getting the car into the drive, but we were able to find parking on the street with a parking disc. Since we were away most of the daytime hours, this never presented an issue (though we knew of the nearby parking garage, if we needed it.) The host also had great local recommendation. We would definitely stay here again!

Pictures are deceiving - beware

This renovated unit looks amazing in pictures - however what it doesn't show is the mold and musty smell throughout the unit. We all had a hard time breathing because the air quality was so bad. In addition, the couch smelled like urine so we couldn't even sit on it. To boot, we had trouble with the washer dryer unit (which was terrible) and they told us they could get a service man in a week to 10 days for a 3 day rental. This unit is not cared for - they have major mold issues they need to address before they should be allowed to rent. Lastly, don't be fooled about "parking" - nearly impossible to get a car in.
