Simple, private chalet located on a densely wooded lot on the ridge above Homer. This rental boasts open space and privacy with access to local trails and frequent wildlife. The unit includes one bathroom, an open loft bedroom with a California king bed, laundry, rustic and fully functional kitchen, chest freezer, outdoor fire pit, and tons of natural light! Enjoy an early check in time and late check out times!
This bright and airy home offers expansive windows and an open loft. The bedroom is located in the open loft and is also where the full bathroom is located. Bathroom sink is outside of the bathroom allowing for two people to utilize at the same time. The bathroom has a shower only and has towels, shampoo and soap provided. There is also a large closet and dedicated work space located in the loft. Bedside lamp and workspace floor lamp provides lighting. There are blackout window blinds and curtains to darken the sleeping area.
The main level has the kitchen, dining room, living space and laundry room. The kitchen and laundry room are both fully functional but are rustic/unfinished spaces. The dining room features seating for six, expandable to eight with the leaf and extra chairs. There is a chest freezer for use to store the fish you'll catch while in town. There are small decks off both sides of the house. Out the back door, there is a pit boss smoker, two chairs and a fire pit in the lawn area. The kitchen is stocked with coffee, filters, sugar, cream, tea, honey, salt, pepper, basic spices and oils. There are books, games, cards and a smart Roku tv available for use in the living space. Tin foil is provided to use for the pit boss smoker, please use it every time. There is a fire pit but no firewood provided.
Comfortably accommodates two guests, up to four with the sofa bed in the main level living room. Please note, the large living room windows do not offer a darkened sleeping space.
The downstairs of the home is an apartment with a full time, year round tenant. Please be courteous of their privacy and space. The outdoor areas are shared, including the yard, fire pit and driveway.
There is one parking space included with the unit. There is very limited parking space so additional vehicles, boats, RVs, trailers, etc. cannot be accommodated at the home. Please only park in designated spot and pull all the way up to the sign to avoid blocking access for the downstairs tenant.
Within walking distance to the Homestead Trail! The trailhead is located .5 miles away from the house. Detailed information including maps can be found at the house.
Guests have full access to the upstairs unit of the home, lawn, firepit and driveway areas. Please be respectful of the downstairs tenant.
Water: The house is on a well. The water has been tested for use and is completely safe for consumption. The water is filtered through two whole inline particulate filters and a softener. There is a PUR water filter supplied at the house for use and two 5-gallon water jugs that can be filled in town for drinking water if preferred. The jugs are included, the water is not. There is a potable water fill station at Safeway on Sterling Highway in town.
