My only complaint is that we have to leave! We absolutely LOVED our stay here!! The horses were beautiful, the scenery was beautiful, everyone is so friendly and the Sequoia park is close. At night you hear frogs, crickets, horses and coyotes in the distance. The owners are super nice and friendly. I'll definitely be staying here again, I can't wait to come back,
The scenery was absolutely stunning, everything was lush and green, and the horses on the property were so cute! The host was incredibly sweet and welcoming, and the massage was such a nice bonus. It is super close to Sequoia NP and many other hiking spots. I’d definitely come back!
Exactly what we needed for our trip to Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. The space is cozy, little snacks provided, and the property is stunning!
This was a perfect little house for my family of 4. The property owner was very detailed on how to get to the house. Everything went seamless. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to go to Sequoia National Park. Great views!!!!
We had a fantastic time at the Cowboys Hideout. Chearl was accommodating, communicative and kind. The place was exactly what is shown on the website. Clean, hospitable and cozy. We loved walking around and seeing the horses. We will definitely be back.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Cowboys hideout. The location is beautiful and we really appreciated the attention to detail throughout the property which made it a very easy and comfortable place to stay. Perfect for a trip to Sequoia National Park.
Location-wise, for access to Sequoia, this is prime real estate. The property is furnished as advertized, plus there was some peanut butter and jelly that we availed after learning that it was included. Bringing a lunch to see the big trees is a must!
Furthermore, this is a working horse ranch and we brought our Corgi! Let's just say that on our walks around the property, he was very interested in getting in to the pens with the horses and trying to herd them. He was leashed so that was prevented, but the horses were still friendly enough to come up and say hi and have their noses pet.
Delighted with our stay, we felt like we were living on a ranch and enjoyed the sight of the beautiful horses. Chearl was wonderful with response time and quite informative. Three Rivers was a cute small town which is conveniently close to Sequoia National Park. We were amazed to say the least and we can’t wait to come back!
Highly recommended for a family trip to Sequoia NP!
My family and I came to Three Rivers for a trip to Sequoia National Park, and we had a wonderful stay at Chearl & Linda's place. The location is beautiful, on a horse ranch, and we walked the property to catch sight of the lovely animals and mountainous surroundings. The place itself stayed nice and cool, despite being over 100 degrees outside most days, with dedicated AC units in the living area and bedroom. The bed was very comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals. The extra snacks and drinks were much appreciated as well. Our hosts were so helpful and responsive as well. I would highly recommend Chearl & Linda's place to any family visiting the area!
Great location for access to Sequoia National Park and local restaurants in Three Rivers.

The ranch is wonderful. Communication from the owners is excellent. The kitchen is great with lots of spices, snacks and even some water bottles. Views are beautiful and the horses on the property are adorable.
Chearl, the property owner was very responsive and easy to work with. We were very happy with our stay. Kitchen and frig well stocked with essentials. Very hospitable over all. Would definitely recommend.
Cute and spacious place tucked away from main road. Close to restaurants and small grocery store. Kitchen area was nice to prepare meals. It was also nice to have a separate bedroom in addition to pull out sofa in the living room, which was comfortable. Well air-conditioned-stayed cool in the hot summer. Very cozy. Enjoyed our stay!
Nice and cozy with beautiful views. Groceries, hardware, and places to eat very close. I would recommend this property if peace and quiet is what you’re looking for.
My husband, 10 year old son and I had a wonderful stay at the Cowboy's Hideout. Coming from a farm in Northeast Georgia, it was the perfect place to call home while we explored the magic of the Sequoia National Forest. The hosts could not have been more welcoming, kind and accommodating. It was heartwarming to watch the new momma and foal run and work the ring for the first time. The restaurants in the area were top notch.
Please take some time and read Mr. Earl McKee’s books while you are there. Their family’s history in the area is a deep and resonant reminder of the constant divisions between those who wish to commodify and gentrify and those who simply hope to protect, hold on to and afford to be buried in the mountainous tombs of their ancestors. It’s a story that’s old as time and beautifully illustrated in Mr. McKee’s books.
Being from Georgia, we were up 3 hours earlier than everyone else and had the Sequoia Nat’l Park to ourselves. It was magical and truly chilly in the mornings. The bears (Mama and baby cub included), deer, turkeys, song birds, horses, giant trees, fern groves - I can’t describe it other than to say that it was like something out of a fairytale. I can’t wait for our next trip out to Cowboy’s Hideout.:)
We stayed here for one night after a drive from San Diego, with the goal of getting into sequoia the next morning. It was great! My kids loved the openness of the property. We could wander around and look at the horses and a neighbor was super friendly and let my daughters pet her mare. The indoors met all our needs and the snacks were appreciated. It was a short drive in the morning and set us up for the day. I didn’t see a hot tub which I thought was listed, but it was also 98 degrees so we didn’t need it. Thanks for having us!

Charming horse property. We enjoyed meeting the horses. The AC was a little tricky to figure out. Lots of places to eat - Pizza Factory, Gateway, River View, Ol Buckaroo. My daughter asked to come back next time so she can see all her horses. Perfect base camp for the Sequoias. The stars at night were magnificent.
From reading the reviews and then engaging with the hosts, you know this is going to be great before even getting there. The Cowboy Hideaway is a special spot on a ranch rich with familial history and beautiful, strong horses along with some sheep, dogs and Scottish ground squirrels. The unit is perfect. The right amount of space, amenities and thematic decor that makes you, welp, own your inner cowboy. And for those who are older or disabled, there are no steps to navigate, which is a rare find when renting vacation spots, (we have a disabled family member).
The hosts could not be more responsive and couldn’t be nicer. You’ll be hard pressed to have a better experience with any future BnB owner. It was really a great way to start the trip. We were in great hands and they were quick to help, give suggestions and just make us feel welcome.
If your aim is to go the Sequoias, Three Rivers is perfect. If your aim is to stay in Three Rivers, the Cowboy Hideaway is perfect. Enjoy the horses, the amazing sounds of the frogs, owls and crickets at night, and the bright constellations above you. This place will stay as a wonderful memory to any guest. I already miss it.

The Cowboys Hideout is clean and well equipped. Communication with the owners was smooth and efficient. Entrance to Sequoia National Park is only a few miles away. It worked out great as a base camp for me and my son.
Very comfortable and well equipped . Loved having the bbq . Excellent location and easy access to the park . Handy local shop. Horses were great and met nice family riding their horses .
Fantastic location, awesome scenery and wonderful hosts! Perfect location to the sequoia national park and surrounding areas! So lovely to have the horses as our only neighbours! 100% recommend the cowboy hideout!
Booked this for my sons birthay since he loves horses. What an awesome place! Plenty of space for a family of four. There is a pull out couch that sleeps two in the living room and a queen bed in the room. Full kitchen, shower and even an enclosed patio. Views were spectacular! Owner was very accommodating and responsive. I will definitely book in the future.
