About this property
Scandinavian Serenity plus Peloton
The apartment is in the quiet hamlet of Watervliet, within 15 minutes of all major hospitals, universities and Empire State Plaza. It is directly across the river from Troy.
We designed the apartment to feel like a well-styled home. Everything you need is at your fingertips. Located on the second floor of a two family house, the apartment has been newly renovated and designed .
The front entrance provides access to a staircase to your floor. The private landing outside your apartment is fashioned as a "mudroom" with plenty of hooks and shoe storage. The back entrance is adjacent to the off-street parking. There is a common area where you can store a bike. The steps lead up to your kitchen. Both the front and back doors are equipped with digital locks.
Enter into the light filled living room which is stylish and serene. The couch invites you to sit down and relax with plenty of pillows and throws. You can catch up on your reading, watch a movie or take a nap.
The 55 inch Smart TV is connected to the high speed Wifi.
The spacious main bedroom has a queen sized bed and an office alcove. There are three big windows which let in plenty of light, but don't worry, blackout shades have been installed. The bed is made with a fluffy duvet, cotton percale sheets and a variety of pillows for you to choose from. Ample storage for clothes is provided. There is an office alcove with a desk should you need to work from home.
The second bedroom is cozy and calm. The full sized bed is made up with the same quality linens and pillows.
The home gym was created so that after a long day you don't need to leave the house again. The Peloton has a house account, but you can use your own if you have one. If you have never used a Peloton, this is your chance to check it out. Of course the cycling classes are a blast, but don't forget to try out the strength training, yoga and barre classes. Matts, free weights, and towels are all provided.
The eat-in kitchen has everything you need, whether you are a true cooking fan or more of a heater-upper. And yes, there is coffee...a combination Keurig with drip machine for those of you who drink it by the pot.
The bathroom has been completely redone. Stylish tile work throughout, new plush towels, good water pressure and a self contained heating system all create a great bathroom experience.
Your in-unit laundry area has front loading machines, a folding table, iron and ironing board.
There is a back deck which overlooks a small park with a fountain.
NEIGHBORHOOD DESCRIPTION
Located In a quiet residential neighborhood with a handful of locally owned businesses. Standouts include Schuyler Bakery (one block away), a 60 year old bakery famous for doughnuts, Gus’s hotdogs and Mac’s Ice Cream Drive-In (seasonal) across the street.
The Mohawk- Hudson bike hike trail is practically out your back door.
If you are looking for more of a scene, Troy is right across the River. If you squint you could think you were in Brooklyn (or on the set of Gilded Age because it is filmed there.). Brew pubs, cocktail lounges and coffee shops abound. The Troy Savings Bank Music Hall draws impressive performers. The Saturday Troy Farmers market draws up to 14000 people from across the region. It flows through the heart of the Historic Downtown DIstrict.
Albany is 10 minutes down the road. The Egg at Empire State Plaza has dance, music and more. The MVP Arena is a major concert and event venue.
Nearby, the Hudson Valley and the Adirondacks offer limitless opportunities for nature lovers and adventure seekers. Gore Mountain is only about 1hr15min for you downhill skiers out there. And if you are looking for some cross country skiing, Lapland Lake XC center is a serious treasure.
Horse racing at the historic Saratoga Racetrack and outdoor performances at SPAC are highlights of the region.

About the host
Hosted by Lawrence Mele

I am from the Upstate NY area and went to school in Albany. We have stayed at dozens of vacation rentals over the years and I am very excited to be a host.
Why they chose this property
Watervliet is a small quiet community tucked away between Troy and Albany.
What makes this property unique
We love design and hope it shows in our properties.
We also love to stay active when we travel and have always wanted to stay at a vacation rental with a Peloton.
