We were so grateful for the opportunity to stay in Birch Bay and The Cottage! Exactly what we hoped for……peaceful, clean, comfortable and inviting space close to the water! Would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone!
This is such a sweet place and it was perfect spot for my husband and I to stay while visiting our grand babies and celebrating my birthday! It’s gorgeous and super close to a lovely beach front!!
The location and size of the property was perfect for our stay in the Pacific Northwest. We enjoyed our stay and would be happy to stay there again in the future.
The cabin was perfect! Clean, comfy, and CUTE! My husband and I enjoyed our home away from home. Perfectly tucked away from the chaos of tourists and a quick walk to the dazzling beach. Loved everything about this stay. Walking distance from many food options and a state park. Just a short walk away from beautiful sunsets.
Love the quiet neighborhood, the homey feeling inside and out. We stayed a week - walked the beach, skipped stones, rode bikes, and mostly ate in with groceries we brought. We’d hoped to SUP, but weather was a bit chilly for that.
The beach cottage has been perfectly restored and is well equipped. The location is great and Jeannie was quick to respond and lovely to deal with. We’ll be back!
This cabin has been tastefully updated with all the mod cons, but without losing the character. Very comfortable bed, beautiful large shower, well appointed kitchen. And quiet! Just a few minutes walk from the beach - I would stay there again in a heartbeat!
This property was so nice. Loved being so close to the bay. Had everything we needed. Owner replied right away to questions. Lots of good restaurants within walking distance
Exceptionally quiet. Adorable and well appointed cottage. Great condition: amazing bathroom, kitchen, bedrooms, outdoor patio/porch and great shower. Everything one could need for a very relaxing mini vacation. Will absolutely stay there again. The owner communicated with us quickly and effortlessly. We had everything we could’ve desired. Thank you so much!
Booked this sweet cottage for my Parents to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary. From the very first step of the booking process, the experience was seamless. The host was delightful to deal with, the cottage was absolutely perfect with attention to detail being absolutely above average. Location was wonderful - private, while steps from the beach and everything you want to see in Birch Bay.
I would recommend this property to everyone and hope to return to enjoy it myself one day!
Jeannie’s cabin is a stunning spot in the perfect location. Just a few steps from all that Birch Bay has to offer including coffee shops, restaurants and breweries. Communication with Jeannie was so easy, check in was a breeze and she was super gracious with our delayed check-out time. The bed was super comfortable and the place was so clean. Wish we were able to use the fire pit but we were in town for a wedding so didn’t have the time. Something to note if you’re visiting Birch Bay is that taxi services are extremely limited so be prepared to wait. Would happily stay at Jeannie’s again!!
I think this was our best vacation rental ever, in many ways. The cottage is lovely and located near the beach (a very short walk to the end of the street) and restaurants. The footprint is small but it lives large, with a regular bedroom and a bunk room. We had everything we needed in the kitchen and bathroom and the beds and furniture are super comfortable. It was easy to get in and the check-out process was simple. Best of all, the cottage is decorated with good taste and furnished with thoughtful attention to function and livability in mind. We loved it!
Stayed in birch bay over Mother’s Day weekend to visit my wife’s mom who lives in Ferndale. We located Jeannie’s cabin on VRBO and can honestly say this was one of the best rental units we’ve stayed at. Cabin is a 2 minute walk to the beach, Jeannie and Jeff have totally refurbished the cabin(awesome job) beds very super comfy, all the amenities for cooking , cabin is super clean and everything appears new and freshly restored. Outside space is as.well done as the inside unit, very roomy and comfy with a gas fire pit and bbq. We would highly recommend staying at this cabin if you are travelling to the birch Bay Area. Thanks again for your hospitality.
These aren’t complaints, just a heads up of items in the home that aren’t quite right. The most important is the hot water. I was only able to get a warm to like warm shower each day. That was with the water turned to the hottest in the shower. Not sure why. Also, the toaster is barely hanging in there. I had to toast bagels 2-3 times each to get them done.
It would also be nice to have a hot water put in the kitchen. I’m a tea drinker.
The place was quite nice otherwise for all of my purposes. Comfortable and restful.
Thank you,
-Jeff
Jeff and I, along with our three kids, have spent many years making wonderful memories in Birch Bay. In 2020 we were able to purchase this property and renovate it with the hope of being able to share it with others so that they can experience all the things that we love about Birch Bay.
Why they chose this property
We most enjoy taking walks on the berm, having beach fires, making s'mores, and seeing the most amazing sunsets. Birch Bay provides all kinds of activities in the summer from the sand sculpture contest, to the kite festival, to live music at nearby restaurants and bars. Be sure to check out the Birch Bay event calendar for all the details.
What makes this property unique
This is a quiet, cozy, little cottage that has old-fashioned charm with modern day conveniences. It is four houses away from the beach and about a two-to-five minute walk to restaurants, bars, a spa, and the famous C-shop (candy shop). It’s nestled amongst other period cottages along the highly desirable “Birch Bay lanes.”
