Fantastic space in Strasburg

This was an amazing place to get away for the weekend. Everything was super clean and all of the accomodations were wonderful. Check-in and checkout we're both incredibly easy, and Kath and Tom were very generous hosts. Would definitely stay here again if we ever come back to the area!

Strasburg Historic Home

We had a wonderful stay at this amazing house....everyone had an enjoyable time and loved reading about the history of the house. And despite its age and old-school charm, it was in wonderful condition and was equipped with updated bathrooms, kitchen, a/c, wifi, and laundry room, with televisions in every bedroom and in the game room. The rooms were quite comfortable and oversized, and the dining room with the extra-large farmhouse table was super nice. And it had a great outdoor patio, actually two patio areas. Very clean, and right in the heart of Strasburg, a perfect location if staying in town there and not too far from Shenendoah National Park. And the hosts, Kath and Tom, were fantastic...they left us notes everywhere to help us feel at home and even surprised us with a very nice welcome gift on the farmhouse table, which we thoroughly appreciated and enjoyed. A five-star stay all the way around...the best option for sure, would highly recommend this house!!!

About the host

Hosted by Kath

Host profile image
Kath and Tom host this grand VRBO rental. We have lived in Strasburg since late 2017, transplants from the Washington DC area. We fell in love with the area, the beauty, the quiet, the history. When this gem came on the market we had to have a piece of Strasburg's history that we could share with others who came to explore the beauty and history of the Valley. We handle everything on our own to ensure we maintain the standards we want. Please enjoy a comfortable stay.

Why they chose this property

The house is in the middle of Strasburg's Historic District. Our favorite thing to do is to walk around the neighborhood to admire the architecture and history. We have done the self-guided walking tour often and every other year we take the ghost tour. Much of the downtown area was in lace before the civil war. Just imagine you are walking the same streets as soldiers from the north and south.

What makes this property unique

There is documentation that suggests the house was built when Strasburg was chartered, 1761. Previous owners have taken great care of the house and we intend to keep up with the standards set.
