Girls trip getaway
The house was very roomy for the seven women on our trip. We enjoyed the decor and history of the home and had a lot of fun trying to locate everything in the house. The pool and grounds were very nice once the weekly maintenance was completed (except for the sewer smell while in the pool area), and we found the pool to be warm enough without heating it in mid-August. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking needs and spices, and we really enjoyed the bar area being out of the kitchen, so we were not in the way of meal prep when we were making our drinks. We ate most of our meals in the courtyard which was a nice break from the normal kitchen table. Our only complaints would have been to have a larger supply of toilet paper, paper towels, and face clothes. Also, the garbage had not been picked up previous to our arrival, so all of the cans were full and starting to collect bugs.

Beautiful home
Me and my girl friends stayed here because the pool looked amazing online. We were told someone was coming to clean the pool when we arrived. The pool cleaning person never showed up. Then it took the host about took about 24 hours for them to come and it only consisted of putting in a vacuum that stopped running about 20 minutes after. I told her it wasn’t working again but she never got it working again. She was very nice but it seemed like she didn’t know enough about the property to take care of what was needThe pool was extremely dirty and it was a huge let down because we only chose to stay here because of the pool. The fridge didn’t keep cold and was extremely loud. The ice machine was broken and the ice bags provided were all melted then re frozen. So we had to buy our own ice. The cleaners showed up an hour early and waiting in the car for about 30 minutes then asked to start cleaning. So we felt extremely rushed to leave the house . The property was beautiful and great. The host claimed a huge storm rolled in and messed up the pool and the cleanness of it but no one even showed up to clean branches that had fallen. I think all the fees were way too high for cleaning and a host who just made up excuses for things not working properly or being cleaned up. It was not windy the whole time we were there and seemed to have great weather but was disappointed in the fact no one came to actually fix or clean up the messes from the storm or make it right with the dirty pool.
This property is the epitome of traditional Northern New Mexico Hacienda with first class amenities. It is tastefully appointed and prepared for complete enjoyment. The beds are ultra comfortable and the bedding top notch. The grounds are well manicured and picturesque. We did not want to leave. The peacocks and kitty treated us like family. Our stay was something out of a dream!
We absolutely loved staying here. The dining tables in the courtyard turned out to be our favorite hangout! The house itself is beautiful and very clean (and huge!) The hosts are super friendly, accommodating, and available. We're definitely booking this property again next year, can't wait!
Super unique property! Feels almost endless with the number of rooms, courtyards and balconies, and doors -- really cool experience, great for hanging out with your friends. Wish I'd spent more time there!
To say that we enjoyed our time and The Santa Cruz, would be an understatement. We experienced New Mexico like never before. From the surrounding wildlife, to the High Road to Taos, which is accessible from the driveway - to the trips to Santa Fe, each day was a new and incredible experience. The house itself is a historical wonder, filled with smells of fires from yesterday and surrounded by trees that have been around just as long. We loved it. We are so grateful to have been able to stay - the property manager was so helpful and responsive. It was truly perfect. Thank you Melissa and Britt!!!
