Loved it!

We couldn’t have been happier with our stay! The decor and set up at the house was just what we wanted. Our kids loved playing in the creek and seeing cows peak through! The hot tub was a huge hit too! The beds/bedding was very comfortable and we felt like we were well rested! We will be back!

Perfect little cabin

We loved this place. The decor is so cute and very high end. Was pleasantly surprised with the comfortable towels, bedding and blankets. The gas firepit was so perfect for the porch. We spent a lot of time by the river admiring the cows and their babies.

Great location for a birthday celebration

Three king beds accommodated our all adult group. Thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub! Loved the gas powered fire pit on the top deck as well as the log fire pit on the lower deck where we watched satellites cross overhead as we did some star gazing. Deer grazed along the creek and we enjoyed listening to the cows on the mountain behind us. Close to Boone, Blue Ridge PKWY - so much to do.

An amazing stay!

We could not have had a better stay here. The hosts were communicative and helpful, and went above and beyond to help us with a minor issue. The wifi is strong, beds are comfy, and the setting is incredible. The tranquil sitting spot by the river was amazing, and we loved watching the field come alive with fireflies at dusk. In the morning, you can sit and have your coffee and watch the cows and horses graze in the pasture across the river. We would love to come back!

Pastoral R&R

Being annual Boone area vacationers, this was our first visit to the valley and we have to say, it was amazing! Upon arrival, we were a bit concerned at the proximity of the house to the road; but truly never was an issue! Cabin is exactly as pictured and worked well for us! It is small but so quaint, homey and well equipped for our two week vacay! Comfy beds, beautifully decorated and the sounds of the creek, cows and occasional donkey brays was perfect! Every place we went seemed to be about 20-30 mins away every direction so decently accessible to most everything. Book your next vacay, you won’t regret it!

Always a favorite

This was the second time my family has stayed at this property and it was just as perfect, if not better, this time around! Owners were incredibly responsive anytime I reached out and overall very accommodating before, during, and after our stay. The layout can be tricky with little ones (1 and 4) but we knew what to expect so it was easy for us to enjoy our stay safely. The kids loved playing in the yard and by the creek. We even carved pumpkins in the backyard - and that was definitely a highlight of the trip for everyone. If you are looking for a very clean and well-maintained place with a great view, outdoor space, amazing hottub, and ridiculously comfy beds - this is the spot for you!! My husband and I continue to agree that this is definitely a place we will continue to visit year after year.

A very relaxing week

Copper Cabim was as described. Although not totally secluded it felt like it was. Hosts did a great job of combining rustic and modern. It was easy to get lost sitting on one of the back decks hearing the creek and an occasional cow. We did not want for anything. We did not need 3 bedrooms but the overall size of the cabin was very comfortable and spacious. Not to be overlooked was the great and fast communication with the host. There were no problems but we did have questions from time to time. Response was always immediate as if they were right there with you. The best rental through VRBO ever. If you plan to visit the area by all means consider Copper Cabin.

What makes this property unique

A small, hidden gem tucked away in a valley of the southern Appalachian mountains, Vilas is one of several unincorporated communities outside of Boone, in the upper Western region of North Carolina. 5 miles from downtown Boone and Appalachian State University, at an elevation of 3,266 feet, Vilas is mostly known for its rustic farm lands, winding country roads, and local swimming holes. It offers convenient proximity to the urban amenities offered by its neighboring college town, but provides a unique escape to the natural elements and mountain seclusion sought by so many of its visitors from the major metropolitan hubs of Charlotte, Raleigh, Greenville, and Knoxville, all of which are less than a 2.5 hour drive away. Downtown Boone offers a host of fine dining and shopping opportunities, and has an eclectic outdoor and arts community. Rated one of the 50 best US adventure towns by NatGeo, summer activities include hiking the Blue Ridge mountains and numerous state and national parks, mountain biking, zip-lining, tubing, white-water rafting, golfing, and access to some of the premier fly-fishing headwaters on the East Coast. In winter months, visitors can enjoy 3 different ski resorts, Sugar, Beech, and App Ski Mountain, which offer black diamond slopes for skiing, snowboarding, and downhill tubing and sledding. Other nearby attractions include the original Mast General Store in Valle Crucis and the small mountain village of Blowing Rock, located less than a 30 minute drive just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. This town has long been a sought after tourist destination for its breath-taking views and vibrant downtown shopping, dining, and arts district.
