Nestled along a private road, Bearskull Cabin is perched on 3 acres of wooded hillside overlooking pristine, 80-acre Bearskull Lake. Enjoy 650' of secluded shoreline. From the spacious and private deck, take in sublime views of a small island (with nesting loons) and a wild, undeveloped far shore studded with big pines. Inside, Bearskull Cabin is a step back in time, paneled with original 1950s knotty pine but with updated fixtures and furniture. The lake is quiet, deep, and lovely: great for swimming, fishing and boating. We have three nice boats for guests to use: a rowboat, a kayak, and a canoe. Deck has a picnic table, Adirondack chairs, and a charcoal grill. One bedroom with a queen-sized bed, new carpet, and large dresser. The small bathroom includes a clawfoot tub with shower surround. The couch in the living room pulls out to a queen-sized bed. While secluded, Bearskull Cabin is within a few miles of several memorable Northwoods eateries, and many other lakes and natural areas.

We had an enjoyable stay at the cabin on Bearskull Lake. Great weather, peak fall colors. Exactly what we were hoping for. The only downside was the loons seemed to have migrated for the season.
Very quiet and relaxing cabin on a beautiful lake. We enjoyed the lake in the morning with the leaves at perfect peak time. The fog coming across the lake added to the view. The music collection was great and I enjoyed reading a ghost story by the fire place to my husband.
Very nice just what i was looking for quite nice veiw in nature han a doe and fawn that would wonder by at dusk had the lake to my self enjoyed my week!!! Thanks for letting have this time
What a gem! We loved this woodsy and secluded cabin on a quiet lake. We spent our days wandering the property, going on canoe rides, barbecuing and campfires. I spent a lot of time relaxing and taking in the view while perched on the tall adirondack chairs on the porch. We easily could have stayed another week!
Communication with Chris and Breja was excellent. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us. Until next time!
Well maintained - beautifully nestled in the Northwoods with lake view from the sitting room and amazing deck. Could not have asked for a better place to stay for a birthday getaway. A kitchen stocked with spices and condiments - plenty of towels and bedding. Everything was perfect. There were even plenty of books and magazines (loved the Wisconsin history ones) and a great collection of music CD’s.
My wife and I spent a week at this cabin for our 20th wedding anniversary. We brought our 15-year-old dog with as well. We all had a great time. The cabin is quaint, clean and dog-friendly. My wife and I visited several restaurants - all within 15 to 20 minutes from the cabin. The hosts were very responsive and helpful with any questions we had. Lots of memories were made at the cabin, and I very much would like to return next year!
The house was perfect for my girlfriend and I. Chris and Breja were excellent at responding quickly to any questions. The house had many of the things that you may not think to bring with you which was nice to have. The house was very clean and made you feel right at home. The row boat was perfect to fish out of and get around the lake with. This would be a perfect lake for kayakers. We enjoyed watching the loons on the island that is just out in front of the dock. It is a very quiet lake which was nice. I would recommend this cabin to any couple looking for a vacation in the north woods. Hoping to book again in the future.
The cabin was so charming and the location quiet and relaxing. Many nearby recreational opportunities, as well as Bearskull lake right outside the door.
Upon our arrival we were very pleased with the cabin's spaciousness and very welcoming setting. Between the high ceilings and the multiple rooms, the gas burning fireplace it seemed more like a comfortable house versus just a cabin. The well stocked kitchen with a full sized refrigerator and a full sized washer and dryer "available made it easy to work in and allowed us to cook in" versus to eat out.
As far as the outside the view of the lake and three ways to access the waterfront was absolutly wonderful. We used 3 of the boats available for our use. We ate 2 meals on the adirondak chairs on the wrap around deck. The quiet lake and the lack of boats allowed for even some practice in rowing. Two days we just "stayed home" to "play on the lake.
Certainly we were pleased with the property and its amenities and with the entire experience.
This cabin is beautifully situated on a small lake with a little island out in front. We felt we had a excellent privacy as we could see no neighbors from the house.
The place is quiet and remote. It has an Ideal view of trees and the lake from the seating area of the cabin though vintage double hung windows. We loved spending time reading, napping and enjoying the solitude for hours on end when we weren't on excursions.
The bathroom was a little quirky as you would expect for a cabin of this age. The tub/shower is elevated, and some people might have trouble getting in and out. There is a bar to steady yourself.
The bed was firm and comfortable.
The kitchen was simple and functional for our needs. It should be noted that there is a drip style coffee maker and they had the filters.
We have T-mobile cell service and it did not work at all except near Mercer and somewhat at Manitowish Waters. This was not an entirely bad thing for unplugging.
We also enjoyed a nice paddle around the lake in the canoe provided. We heard the loons on a few of the nights as well.
Our family enjoyed our week-long stay at Bearskull Cabin. We had everything we needed to explore the lake-- a kayak and canoe-- as well as, the amazing deck that overlooks the lake for taking in the sunsets. My family played board games, listened to music, read books, and made s'mores by campfire -- it was a perfect way to recharge after a busy summer. The cabin is clean, well stocked (including a great CD library!), and has a cozy fireplace that completes the Northwoods vibe.
My girlfriend and I stayed for a wonderful week at this property! It was inviting clean and everything was as advertised! The deers everywhere seeing them so close consistently was a sight to see! One even peeked up the bottom of the stairs on the deck by the lake it was amazing! The appliances worked great, the bed was comfy it stayed at a good temp even though at night it got chilly! Only a few complaints but it was not to do with the cabin or grounds themselves! I wasn’t expecting to be as far away from the main city and the mosquitos were hungry! I’d recommend this for any small sized family or couple just looking to unplug and relax with beautiful scenery.
What a wonderful property, the moment we arrived all we heard was “quiet”. Away from the noise of the city a week was great for our family, we enjoyed it very much. The property was perfect and had everything we might have forgotten, I really appreciated many of the little things that made it feel like home away from home. My kids enjoyed the surroundings and had a blast running around, dipping their feet on the lake, swimming, going on a boat ride or just sitting by the lake enjoying the views. We’d be happy to come back!
The property was excellent! We were looking for a place to just sit and be. It had everything we needed.Glad there was no TV! Bathroom was small for my wife, but there's nothing that can be done for that. The towels and TP could be more accessible.Deck was great! We went swimming in the lake a few times. A real Wisconsin-Up-North-cabin-on-the-lake experience!!!
