My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our months’ stay in Picture Rocks, near Saguaro National Park!, Sonoran Desert Museum and Old Tucson! The hosts were very welcoming and helpful during our stay, the bunkhouse came very well equipped and the owners even gave us fresh oranges from their orange trees. The property is very beautiful and well maintained, The owners have a pool behind their home (directly across from Bunkhouse) which they are happy to share, along with allowing guests to use their washer and dryer! Tucson and area is about a 20-30 minute drive. The internet is sometimes slow, but that’s to be expected up in the mountains. Overall, the setting is beautifully quiet with easy access to hiking.the mountains!
The Bunkhouse had everything we needed for our 7 day stay. Great location for getting to know the area surrounding Tucson. Nice to have an extra TV in the bedroom! Enjoyed hearing wildlife at night and having fresh oranges available!
Loved our time at the Bunkhouse! It is the perfect place to stay to be right by Saguaro National Park. Hiking and views are right outside the door. The porch was perfect for watching birds and bunnies. We felt right at home and appreciated the great use of space- it’s small but room enough for the two of us. We stayed at Christmas and were so happy to see a little tree complete with a wrapped gift!
Wir hatten eine wunderbare Zeit in dem sehr schön eingerichteten Haus mit schönem Garten. Die Lage ist Top, da man direkt angrenzend am Nationalpark sowie an der Stadt wohnt.
We really enjoyed our stay in The Bunkhouse! We chose to stay here because of its proximity to the venue for the wedding we were attending, but if we are ever in the area again, we would stay here again. It was nice to sit on the deck and watch the hummingbirds. Great accommodations! Thank you for sharing The Bunkhouse with us!
Outstanding property, clean, quiet, owners available if needed. Priced quite reasonable. Everything is available, pots, pans, toaster, micro.
Next time I go out I hope this will be available.
Definitely recommend.
We absolutely loved the Bunkhouse. We were in Tucson for my birthday and our fabulous hosts Lou and Ozzy had a birthday card and festive cupcake waiting for me. This is a perfect getaway and we only wished we had more time there.
We were in Tucson to visit our son who is serving in the Air Force. Although we visited during one of the hottest weeks in September, we knew we would be going 'home' each day to a clean, cool, and very relaxing house. The bunkhouse had everything we could possibly need. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the quiet desert!

Loved this little getaway for my birthday. Close enough to town but far enough away to be quiet. Would definitely stay here again with Lou and Ozzie!!!
Lou & Ozzy are great folks!
The Bunkhouse was perfect for our adventures. Very clean and well maintained, inside and out! Nice and quiet. Great to sit and relax on the big porch and enjoy all of the beautiful natural desert with lots of little wildlife running and scurrying about. The Bunkhouse has everything you could possily need. Even used the charcoal grill to cook our steaks! The pool was a perfect end to our days activities!
We like to be off the main trail a bit, so the Bunkhouse was just right for us.
We had a great stay at the bunkhouse! It was super clean and in the best location for some amazing hikes! The hosts were very friendly. We would highly recommend to anyone!
Place was awesome. House was clean and well stocked. Front porch was perfect. Pool was it's own little getaway. No complaints whatsoever. Will definitely be back
Escape to this idyllic hideaway in Saguaro Park, where the owners' warm welcome sets the tone for a blissful retreat. Perfect for couples needing a break, the cozy house offers a porch tailor-made for sunset G&Ts and wildlife watching. It's a slice of paradise where time stands still, inviting you to relax, recharge, and savor the simple pleasures of life. Can’t wait to be back in 2026!!!
If you're looking for a place with a rural feel and quick access to west Seguaro, this is it. We really enjoyed mornings and evenings on the large porch watching wildlife.
The Bunkhouse is a single-width modular house in a lightly-developed area just outside Saguaro National Park. The house itself is small, clean and very well-maintained with a full-length covered porch that affords great views of the owners beautifully situated property. The factor that earned this property our highest rating is the owners obvious care for the property and their generosity. There is a grapefruit and and an orange tree just a few steps from the door and the owner invited us to pick the fruit freely. There are no laundry facilities in the bunkhouse but the owner gave us full access to the washer and dryer in their house just across the driveway. The bed was comfortable and kitchen was very well provisioned. We cook at least one or more meal a day and we found everything we needed in the kitchen. The cable TV & WiFi were easy to use. What makes this place special is it's location in a natural setting. We saw dozens of kinds of wildlife, especially birds, from the big porch. In spite of the remote setting there are grocery stores and restaurants just 20 minutes away across the park. This is a beautiful, clean comfortable little house in a gorgeous location run by a couple of very conscientious hosts. If that doesn't merit 5 stars, what does?
