Beautiful House and Location
We LOVED the neighborhood and the deer! Within an hour's drive, we could easily get to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Dickie Brothers orchard (apple picking), and many hiking trails, waterfalls, places of interest, and the LU mountain for more hiking. We also enjoyed the beautiful walking trail at Poplar Forest, which was less than 20 minutes away. Plenty of restaurants/shopping only 15 minutes away.
The house is beautiful and spacious, with lots of room for families (huge fridge). Grateful dogs are allowed! Fenced yard is a bonus, but small dogs can slip right under, so be aware. Also know front room doesn't have locks. Theater room was a hit for movies and for a darker sleeping room (other rooms are not super dark). Glad there is a bed in it (wasn't pictured).
We had some minor issues.
~A notebook with instructions about how to use things (plugging in couches to recline, master shower usage, hidden dimmers, towels) would have been helpful.
~Check-in info wasn't given until the day we arrived.
~Not all sinks/bathrooms had soap. We weren't told to provide our own.
~No visible towels- finally found them in hidden closet in the master toilet room, and upstairs in hall closet.
~Plenty of blankets provided, but throw blankets were dirty (not stained but food/dirt)
~No notice about pool guy, AC repair guy
~Worker knocked on inside garage door to kitchen instead of front door
~No curtain in family room (street is behind it so can see right in to living area)
Overall we enjoyed it!
