About this property
Historic 4-bedroom Home Close to Pleasant Lake
Unwind in a spacious, historic 4-bedroom home just a few blocks from gorgeous Pleasant Lake. A 5-minute walk to beach, playground, public boat launch and a cute small town market (for ice cream!). Sip coffee on the bright sun porch overlooking the sunny backyard field and perennial garden. Step out the front door to a path that leads to a public park with a lovely stream and seasonal waterfall. Great restaurants, gift shops and grocery store 7-minute drive around the lake to quaint New London.
My home is homey, spacious, well-appointed and clean, but not a 5-star hotel. I would put it at 3-4-star accommodation in a solid 4 -star location. Elkins Beach at Pleasant Lake, with lifeguards and a playground is great for excellent for kids. Several bikes available for an even quicker trip to the lake. Bear in mind that although it is a well-maintained historic home, it does have some quirks (for example, loose antique door knobs).
Please note that this is my primary home, so while the space will be tidy of personal items, there will be clothes in the closets and drawers. There will be some staple food in top shelves of cupboards, but there will be plenty of space in the refrigerator, freezer and cupboards for you to use. Home will be stocked with condiments, spices, tea and staples that you are welcome to use.

About the host
Your host

Originally from Royal Oak, Michigan, I settled in NH in 2002 after stops in Santa Cruz, Nederland and Helena. I used to do tons of backpacking and sleeping under the stars, and hope to do more of that now that my kids are school-aged. I love to travel. In my 20's I traveled to India, Guatemala, Mexico and Thailand as a backpacker. More recently, I have been to Spain and Italy using Air B n B when I can. I introduced my kids to international travel when I took them on a two week excursion learning Spanish and snorkeling in Panama.
I love to share my little slice of heaven in the lakes region of NH in my historic home. I love meeting our guests and helping them experience the outdoors and quaint towns of New England.
Why they chose this property
A sunny lot surrounded by woods and a waterfall at the end of a quiet dead-end road just minutes from a gorgeous lake and a lovely New England town. What is not heaven about that?
What makes this property unique
My house is the perfect balance between a rural setting, small cute neighborhood and lake life. The sunny backyard is a bonus. I also love that the house has such a rich history. It has a REAL hitching post in the front, a pump well in the back, and old stone mills for the front and back steps.
