Nestled within the back of an Italianate Fan residence is “The Apartment,” a turnkey short term furnished 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment with a living/dining area, kitchen, in-unit laundry, a private back entrance with one parking space in the back (a $120/month value, along with permitted street parking) with a locked private alley that gives you access from the back parking to Grace Street.
Centrally located in the Fan, this special block has a "small town feel" yet is walkable to all the fun!

About the host
Hosted by Copeland Casati

I used to work in international affairs. After traveling for work, country to country, after a while it all melted into a Marriott, an Omni, a Hyatt... I want to experience people's lives. And so, I also open my own home(s), to similar people who want to step into a lifestyle.
My bio: After leaving NYC and returning home to Virginia, I founded Copeland Casati Media in 1999, then three passive solar prefab house lines Green Modern Kits in 2006, Green Cottage Kits in 2008, and Green Cabin Kits.
Although a modern enthusiast, I grew up (and my parents still reside) in a home built in 1801. A Virginia native, I appreciate old farmhouses, cabins, Victorian brownstones, high modern design and... little cabins in the woods. I'm obsessed with walkable cities + rural culture.

Why they chose this property
The Fan is a bustling, charming neighborhood where you can usually walk to fun events at the museums, our many restaurants and breweries... A short ride will bring you to hiking/biking trails, many outdoor festivals, and historic sites. Richmond is a music and arts city and it is a great time to visit!
What makes this property unique
While the apartment might not have the prettiest entrance (the door is in the back, see photo), you will always have a parking space ready just steps away (hard to find in a historic district) and access to a grand front porch via your private alley. While being in the center of the best of the urban hustle and bustle, the block itself is quiet- almost like a small town feeling in the middle of the city!
