About this property
Glass House with Private River & 360° Views
Our house sits in a special part of Arnarstapi, a spot where the Snæfellsjökull Glacier, North Atlantic Ocean and Stapafell Mountain can all be seen from the living room at the same time. The two bedrooms also have these incredible views but in addition the bedroom windows face north- making them a perfect spot to see the Northern Lights!
A private river runs through the backyard with little bridges that allow you to cross if exploring the property.
The space
The glass house is located at the edge of Arnarsapi, a beautiful fishing village in the magical Snæfellsnes penisula. The house is about two and a half hours drive from Reykjavík, and about three hours from Keflavík International Airport.
This house is 95 sa meters (1000 sq ft) and has two bedrooms, an additional sleeping loft, a fully equipped kitchen, a large living room with a large smart TV and a dining table.
Each bedroom has a queen bed and the loft is equipped with a double bed.
The aurora borealis - northern lights: are visible (whenever they’re out) from both bedroom windows, the loft window and all common areas.
The house has 270 degrees deck with garden chairs.
We highly recommend to stargaze at night from the deck. Let your eyes adjust for a few minutes and you’ll discover a vast night sky above you with many stars and the Milky Way Arm above the House.
There is one full bathroom with a shower. The water is heated electrically. Shampoo, conditioner and soap is provided.
A hairdryer is also available.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a refrigerator, a coffee machine for grounded coffee, an oven and a cook top with four gas burners.
The living/dining room is large and has big windows to the east and west that provide magnificent views. There is a dining table with chairs, 2 couches and a coffee table.
Large smart TV with options to log into your streaming accounts.
Our home is powered by electric heat. As a result, the hot water has NO scent which is a bonus here in Iceland.
Guest access
Guests will have full access to the house and all the described amenities. Linens and towels are provided. All the equipment you need is in the house.
Guests will have the house all to themselves but we will assist with any questions or requests that you might have.
