About this property

Magi Azul - Caribe Beach House with Moroccan style, directly beach front

Beach front 3 bedroom3 1/2 bath luxury home located right on the Caribbean. At Magi Azul atmosphere is everything. Massive wood beams, stone floors and rock walls make this Moroccan/ Caribe Beach House a one -of-a-kind vacation experience. Inspired by old European sea side homes, Magi Azul offers laid back luxury with panoramic views of the Caribbean, enclosed Balinese style garden pool, gourmet kitchen and an indoor/outdoor living area. Close enough to town to walk but far enough to have your own private beach. Ocean views from every room. Perfect for a romantic get away or a family vacation.

Location: We are located right on the ocean just outside of town. We are far enough to have nice private beaches right out your door or you can walk to town 20-25 minutes or so and hit nearby restaurants or main beaches. The Caribe side of the island is ideal for snorkeling in the summer and on calm days all year because of it's many caves and reef formations.

Design: During the months of July and August sea turtles lay their eggs on our beach and can be watched at night from your patio. The island breezes make this side of the island virtually mosquito free. Designed by an interior designer and a writer, Magi Azul's emphasis is on creating an atmosphere for relaxation and contemplation. The Balinese patio pool area is designed to be a sunny private retreat from the wind. The rooftop palapa pavilion offers the ultimate in ocean views and vistas.

Ambiance: Moroccan and Caribbean influences combine to give Magi Azul an Old World flavor with an exotic edge. Stone floors, massive wood beams and hand-hewn rock walls make you feel you have stepped into another time.

Excellent home, fabulous house keeper

We stayed at Magi Azul for a week in mid March 2025; Maxi, the housekeeper, was the shining star of the experience. She made us feel welcome and cooked a wonderful breakfast for us daily. The house served our needs well and Maxi keeps it polished and tidy. Check in and check out process, to include transfer from Cancun via tax and the ferry was handled seemlessly by Capi's management company. Great experience all the way around. :)

Best house on isla!

We have been coming to isla mujeres for many years and Magi Azul is one of the best places we have stayed. The location is perfect and the home is spectacular! You will love the ocean front balconies in every room. The pool is perfect for relaxing! The home is just beautiful! We really enjoyed the poolside open air living area and the convenience of an air conditioned, fully equipped kitchen. The manager and his wife are terrific - they made sure we all saw the sea turtles every night. It was a highlight of our trip! I would highly recommend this property - you will love it!

Lovely property

The home was truly extraordinary and the onsite team was lovely. The view from every room is absolutely gorgeous, and the kitchen is like nothing we've ever seen on the island, spectacular. There is really no amenity we wished for. We happened to be there during a lot of stormy days and the wind noise was inescapable - that isn't the fault of the home other than partly it's open architecture style, but worth noting if you're only expecting peace and quiet. We also would have liked a little more respite from the super sweet housekeeper, she was often present.

Fantastic house, well worth the money!

A party of six of us rented this house last month and it was such an amazing place. As others have pointed out, the pictures do not do it justice! Every single aspect was just impeccable -- the pool, the furniture, the kitchen, the multiple patios, etc. My boyfriend and I had the master bedroom on the main floor and it was heavenly. We were shown how to operate the AC but how can you use AC when you have huge doors to open with a sea breeze and the sound of waves? The bathroom was large and had a wonderful sunken tub. The main living area was perfect too and where we spent most of our time. The furniture was amazingly comfortable -- anywhere else I've ever stayed in Mexico had very hard furniture which would become uncomfortable after a short while. Not here -- we could sit for hours, listening to music, dipping in the pool, and enjoying some cocktails. The pool was a LITTLE chilly but definitely not too chilly for everyone to enjoy, especially after a day in the sun. The kitchen had every appliance once could need plus a large table to dine. We cooked a few meals here and found everything we needed. The upper bedrooms are also beautifully designed with their own patio overlooking the Cancun bay. The rooftop is amazing with the hammock pavilion and the rooftop seating that offers you panoramic views of the island. The house sits on its own little private beach, which can be a bit rocky, but great if you just want to wade in the water or just sit in the sand. The house is situated on the airport strip side, about halfway between the island. It's a short walk to a local neighborhood with some amazing food and a little market, and it's not too bad of a walk to Centro (about 30 minutes, but there is a boardwalk area not far from the house that makes the walk much more pleasant). We rented a golf cart, which was great for getting around the island doing bigger grocery store runs. Sherry and Stan have crafted an amazing, top-of-the-line home that exceeded our expectations. We hope to return again!

Simply Beautiful!

We just completed a two week stay at Magi Azul, and our stay was absolutely wonderful! The house is exquisite, with every attention to detail so perfectly addressed. The outdoor living area and gourmet kitchen was a perfect place for our family to gather, and the breeze passing through the open balcony doors in the master bedroom kept this area very cool. The pool was so refreshing, and we enjoyed swimming during the day and in the evening. You'll love the moroccan lights in the evening-gorgeous! Each bedroom has beautiful ocean views. We also spent early mornings having coffee on the rooftop and enjoying the view. After sunset, the rooftop offered us views of Cancun, passing cruise ships and - sea turtles! Yes, we spotted a sea turtle in the moonlight digging in the sand! The house was perfectly maintained by Max. She even surprised us with delicious ceviche and an excellent breakfast! The property manager is Armin. He is an amazing man who took great care to make sure every single aspect of our trip was perfect. He was waiting for us (with both golf carts) at the house when we arrived, showed us all through the house and then took us on a wonderful tour of Isla. Armin set up our whale shark tour and snorkeling trip, a second snorkeling trip, a day trip to Chichen Itza, and took us late at night to find our FIRST sea turtle (prior to seeing the one from the roof). More importantly than all of "things" he did for us, however, was the time he spent answering questions and talking with us about the culture and history of the island and just getting to know our family. Muchas gracias , Armin ! Usted es nuestro muy querido amigo! Esperamos verle de nuevo pronto ! Activities we enjoyed: Fenix Beach Club -perfect for swimming, snorkeling, great food and drinks delivered to beach beds and umbrellas; Hidalgo street shopping; Punta Sur for the ruins and GORGEOUS VIEWS; Turtle farm; swimming with whale sharks; Chichen Itza day trip; golf cart rides to take in the views; watching for sea turtles and seashell hunting at Magi Azul; swimming in the pool at the house; great naps in the hammocks! Restaurants we enjoyed: Bastos (ask Armin to show you where it is); Soggy Pesos; the Mango Cafe; El Patio; Varadero Cuban; Rooster, Ax Bar and Grill (excellent hamburgers). We also enjoyed cooking at the house. The Chedraui (grocery store) is so close to the house, and the selection there is excellent. We can't wait to return to Isla and to the beautiful Magi Azul!

Beautiful place

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Maji Azul. Our housekeeper, Maxi, was outstanding! She cooked for us one evening and would bring special treats for us. She went out of her way to make sure our stay was perfect. Note: The pool is on the west side of the building, the ocean is in the east side. It bothered me that I couldn’t watch the kids in the pool and look at the ocean, but I know that’s being picky. Everything else was amazing. All rooms have a large ocean view.

Spectacular home

This was our second visit to Isla Mujeres, but first time staying at this incredible home. My family had a few items on our wish list for our stay: Privacy, ocean view, close to town, but quiet enough to feel like we were far away from the beach and all that the island has to offer. Magi Azul has all of that and more. From the moment we walked through the door, seeing the Balinese pool and privacy walls, we were in awe. As we moved around each corner, and climbed to the different floors of the home, we were in awe of every detail, the luxurious style of the home and the spectacular views. Each large bedroom has its own luxurious bathroom, incredible views of the water and extremely comfortable beds. My boyfriend and I woke every morning and sat on the master suite balcony watching the sunrise glisten over the water.. After going to the other side of the island for a few hours of tennis, we’d come back for a dip in the private pool before we set out for the day with our kids to the beach, or going into town for incredible lunches (Gin and Fish our top choice...by far). The late afternoons on the beach outside of the home gave us warmth from the other side of the island where the sun would set, while searching and collecting unique ocean treasures. Being right on the water was one of my personal highlights. Whether listening to the tide to put me to sleep, to waking to it in the morning and listening to the tide come in and out, I found myself at absolute peace. Lounging in the hammock on the third floor, with late afternoon sun-another treasure I’ll hold dear. Maxi, our lovely housekeeper, was so wonderful, kind and friendly. Hugging her goodbye, I look forward to hopefully seeing her again. Admittedly, it was an interesting, if not difficult time to be here, as it was at the same time that COVID-19 was spreading quickly throughout the world. We felt like we were in the safest place in the world being here, rather than the New York area. By the time we left, the island got quieter and quieter. It was a strange feeling for everyone. Tourists and locals. Fortunately there were no cases on Isla as we left...and I hope that all of the beautiful people of the island stay safe and healthy. Lastly. Staying here in this very special home made us feel extremely fortunate and blessed. We left with full hearts and much gratitude. Until next time.

Beautiful home in great location!

This was our 6th visit to Isla Mujeres & first time staying At Magi Azul. The house is in quieter than Playa Norte, & it’s just a short walk or golf cart ride to town. The ocean views are unprecedented & beach behind the house is amazing. We tried to buy beach chairs as there were none at the property, but we couldn’t find any. Maxi, the housekeeper is awesome (she made us a few meals that were fabulous)! Rooms are large & private, (great water pressure in showers). We enjoyed our week & recommend this property!

Awesome views

This house was amazing. Awesome views from all the bedrooms and rooftop patio area. We had a great time just hanging out at the house and the pool. Maxi the housekeeper is super sweet and an awesome cook. She prepared breakfast and dinner for us two nights. I would say some of the best food we had on the island was from the meals Maxi cooked for us. She really took care of us during our 5 days there and make the whole experience even better. The home is located in a great location with several restaurants nearby. We walked to the center/north side of the island a couple of times and was only a 15 minute walk. The big grocery store is also nearby; we walked there and took a cab back since we had several items. There is now a bus service on the island (buses are air conditioned) and we could get on right outside the house. This house is perfect for anyone that wants to relax because the area is pretty peaceful as opposed to all the hustle around north beach (the noise from the school across the street is minimal, usually we only heart the hustle and bustle of the kids getting to school in the morning). The sunrise views are amazing, and you can just sit on the balconies enjoying your morning coffee with the sound of waves in the background, I would defeintely come back and stay at this property if I return to Isla Mujeres.

Wonderful stay

We had a wonderful stay. The house was great for 3 couples. Very spacious and private yet provided great common space for socializing in the pool, kitchen and living room. Location was perfect. We rented golf carts which made it easy to get around. Views of the sea were great from each bedroom. It would have been nice to have the sea view from the ground floor.

Wonderful stay at Magi Azul!

Magi Azul lives up to the pictures! This house is amazing! Views are spectacular from every room. It is like no other home I have stayed in. Max, our housekeeper/phenomenal cook was so great. She prepared us breakfast one morning and dinner one evening and they were the best meals we had on the island! She made us guacamole and chips as we we unpacked our luggage on arrival and brought us fresh flowers for the tables during the week. Location is perfect. Far enough away from the hustle of Playa Norte but only a 10 minute ride in a golf cart. Would love to return!

Amazing home in a great location!

The views are amazing! You will catch yourself returning to the balconies to take another look and another look and another look! House is very spacious, was perfect for our group of 6. Really enjoyed the separate bedroom/bathrooms, open air living room and of course the cool pool! Location was great, restaurants, bars and shopping were in close distance. Only a quick golf cart ride to almost everything. Would be nice to be able to use the 'garage' space as our golf cart was 'mysteriously' out of gas each morning. Otherwise great stay and we will definitely be back to Isla and Magi Azul!

Perfect house, Great location, Great local help

The house location is perfect for people who want to be close, but not right in the thick of things. The pictures do no give the house justice awesome perfect for our three couples. Arrangements from airport, to ferry, to house, all taken care of plus we arrived early. Had 2 carts that we had rented for us waiting. Can be a little breezy on the west side but with the heat it is welcome. We sat on the beach out back on a couple of days awesome and very quiet. Great neighbors btw. Max was there everyday to clean and the day we pulled up from going to get groceries she immediately headed to the cart to help carry things in. House is fully stocked you do not need anything. Armin the property manager is awesome, when you need him he is there. And when you REALLY need a local contact he was there to handle it. Muchas gracias de nuevo mi amigo. We will meet again ny friend. The group was already talking on when we will come back and would come back to the property in a heart beat.

Experience like none other

We have been coming to the Cancun region for over 10 years and virtually all have included a day trip to Isla. We’ve always talked about staying on the island and made that a reality this year when I found Magi Azul. The trip consisted of my wife and I with two other couples and it was important to find a home with 3 full bedrooms/baths, which this has. The home is simply beautiful and we had an incredible time on our 9 night vacation. The pool is on the street side of the house just as you enter the home, leaving all of the suite balconies facing the beautiful ocean. Once in the pool it is rather amazing how secluded you feel based on the tall walls of the home. The actual location of the home was very idea as well. While there are a handful of restaurants within walking distance, you truly need to have a golf cart for your stay to enjoy and explore the entire island. In a cart we were less than 5 minutes from the big grocery store and restaurants near the colonias neighborhoods and we were only about 5 minutes or so to get to downtown Isla. Armin set up our golf carts before we arrived and met us at the house and checked in with us daily. He was so much help and we texted often during the trip, as he is so knowledgeable about everything Isla. Armin also turned us on to the local food in the middle of the island and never dissapointed there. The best taco night we had was at Taqueria Tonichos and our last meal was at Bastos Grill (lime soup is a must). We had our housekeeper come in 4 different mornings to make us breakfast and all was fabulous with homemade tortillas and the works. She was incredible and we already miss them both. They were so gracious and took good care of us. We paid a flat fee for her to do each breakfast and then paid whatever the food cost so it varied a bit each time but was pretty much $7-8 or so per person. There are some beautiful homes on the island as you drive around, but I would come back to Magi Azul tomorrow. It just simply has some very unique and beautiful design and construction. Sherry was also fabulous from the moment I inquired about the property to the moment we left. Very responsive and awesome to deal with. Please enjoy if you choose this home for an island getaway!

We had a wonderful vacation!

The house is beautiful, Max (the maid) came everyday, Armin was wonderful and planned everything we wanted to do and showed us around the island. Our favorite thing was deep sea fishing. We caught lots of fish and Armin hired a chef for us to come to the house and cook the fish. Best meal ever!! We had a few maintenance issues with the house, but they were taken care of quickly. We hope to be able to come again. Thank you Stan and Sherry for sharing your beautiful home. God bless you, The Haralsons

Amazing

Five of my girlfriends and I stayed at Magi Azul and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The owners are great and the property manager (Armin) went above and beyond. The housemaid cooked us homemade Mole - just wow (delish). The house is incredible, the island is a dream and Armin made sure we didn’t waste any time with logistics, he had our golf carts waiting for us upon arrival, planned a private boat excursion where we snorkeled and explored the underwater museum (do it), and was available at all times for any questions we had. I will be back!!! Or maybe I’ll stay forever.

Thoroughly wonderful stay. Beautiful home, great location & superb staff make this house wonderful.

We had stayed at an exclusive all inclusive location on the island over Christmas. We got frustrated eating at the same place and none of us really drink that much. In addition the drive into town was always a hassle. In comparison, this home is situated about a 10 minute golf cart ride from town. The staff (Armin) was fabulous in coordinating the golf cart so that we had it from our arrival and he coordinated the drop off as well. Comfortable non taxis rides to and from the ferry (and 18 minute ride) were also coordinated by the staff. No waiting or awkward situations. The house itself was a fabulous place for the week. The pool is pleasantly on the interior--so no excessive winds, noises, etc but plenty of sun, privacy and the water was a great temp. The kitchen was great size and good appliances. We had Armin arrange for a catered dinner one night and it was the best dinner we had. And the catering folks left the place as clean or cleaner than when they started. I felt totally safe walking in the evenings after dark. The location meant we didn't have to get up too early to go deep sea fishing. Since the rooms all have great beach views (you are right on it), the only noise at night is from the waves. A/C is super important to my husband and all the units worked well. Plenty of fans throughout the house also ensured comfort during the days and nights. The daily housekeeping service was also dependable and pleasant. Definitely plan to come here again with our family.

Can't Wait to Return!

Two families with kids (2, 7, 9 and two 17 year-olds) stayed in January 2015. The house lived up to the pictures and then some! We loved being able to drive around in golf carts all week and there were so many wonderful real Mexican restaurants and beautiful beaches on Isla. The pool was a perfect size and the bench was great for our 2 year old. Even though the house isn't on a swimming beach, it was nice for playing in the sand and walks ... it was also very private. Lots of places to hang out in the house if looking for personal time, but yet still feel like you are together. A huge benefit is Armin, who arranges to have the golf carts waiting for you and anything else you need on the island - it was also very nice to have someone answer questions, give recommendations, etc. His wife Mariana keeps the house meticulous and just loved to see her smile each day! Sherry was very responsive and helpful, too, including arranging for a taxi to and from the airport to the ferry (which, by the way is very comfortable). We paid exclusively in cash the entire time we were on the island - almost no one we found took credit cards so be prepared. The taxi ($50 RT) and golf carts (about $480/week) will likely be USD and many places take USD on the island. We found the Zamba Beach and Lounge to be one of the best places to enjoy a quiet beach, swim in one of their 3 pools or sit in the beach chairs (free with drinks which were very good). Snorkeling at Garrafon de Castilla (not the park) was also a highlight along with a walk through Punta Sur. The house is close to Mango Café where we ate most days for breakfast or lunch (if you crave a salad after all the tortillas, they have the best). Other restaurants we enjoyed were Elements of the Island (breakfast), Bastos (a MUST for the BEST Mexican food EVER), La Bruja (tacos to go were excellent) and Restaurant La Lomita (amazing fish). Oscar's is good if you just want pizza and Rolandi's hotel had a beautiful view at sunset from the restaurant but the food was pricey for what you get. We also enjoyed the nearby Bahama Mama for drinks a couple of nights (the mango mojito was a hit). The only negative is that the house is right on a main road and you can definitely hear the traffic at times. There is a fountain in the pool that drowns much of it out, along with the ocean itself, but just be prepared (the positive is how convenient it is to get everywhere). Lastly, we liked the Tortugranja. Enjoy!!

One of the Best Vacations EVER!

We had a great time, the house and the exceptional care supplied by Sheri, and her homes caretakers Armin & Mariana was the best. He took care of everything from the airport pickup to a great private all day boat trip to Isla Contoy. We got to Fish, Snorkel, Sun on the beach where we had a great Lunch made by the Best two Captains, Lupe, and Diego. Armin also took us on a private tour of the island. If you need anything Just ask him and its yours. From the choices we had to stay at here, I'm sure we picked the best.

Gorgeous home with many places to hang out

Four of us spent 6 days at this lovely home in late October 2014 and had the best time. First of all, the house is GORGEOUS … much nicer than most of the homes we saw on the island. Every room is comfortable and beautifully decorated. The pool was just the right size for dipping and hanging out, and because it is on the side of the house away from the beach, it’s protected from the wind. We spent tons of time in the water. The kitchen, while small, was well appointed with fantastic appliances (gigantic fridge, wide gas range with griddle, dishwasher). The bedroom downstairs is very large, with an extra large bathroom and tub. But since there were only four of us, both couples opted for the second-floor bedrooms instead, and we used the lower bedroom as an extension of the living space on the main floor. Opening the windows in the bedroom allowed a nice breeze to flow through the home. The bedrooms on the second floor are very similar in size and amenities. One of the two bedrooms on that floor has a loft space for a little reading or napping. (The other has a smaller loft bed.) In fact, that was something unexpected that we loved about this house. It’s not overly large, yet there were so many wonderful places to hang out: the pool, the deck off the bedroom on the main floor, the loft in the bedroom upstairs, the wonderful rooftop deck, or the hammock room on the roof. The location of the home is also nice – just a few minutes via golf cart into town (but away from its crowds), and minutes from a large well-appointed grocery store (Chedraui). The house sits along a road (which was busier than usual for us because it was being used as a detour for the main road, which was closed), but once inside the gate, we didn’t hear much nice, especially with the pool fountain running. The beach was lovely to walk along (tons of shells and coral), but a little rocky and wavy, but we did find ourselves swimming in it a couple of times. One day, we headed to Playa del Norte in town and enjoyed the white sand and shallow, calm waters. Finally, the staff at the house was wonderful… Armin was super friendly and eager to help or offer advice whenever he could, and his wife was extremely thorough in keeping the house clean and stocked. We all agreed we’d definitely spend more time in this home, and we likely will!

Perfect Vacation

We stayed at Magi Azul in early August and absolutely loved it! It was the perfect location, and the house is incredible. We watched sea turtles come up onto the beach at night to lay their eggs, and spent our afternoons in the pool with the breeze coming in off the ocean. Armin and Mariana took such great care of us, and we did the private day trip out to see the whale sharks, with a stop at Contoy Island in the afternoon. It was the most perfect day - obviously the whale sharks are amazing to see and swim with, and then Armin and Diego cooked us the most delicious lunch at Contoy, while we sat in the crystal clear water drinking beer with hardly anyone else around. I would absolutely recommend staying at this house, and doing the day trip with Armin! We had an incredible time, and can't wait to go back! We even made a short video of how relaxing it feels to stay at Magi Azul :) http://youtu.be/MQVoGB8y-MY

Great layout & excellent location! Bring the kids.

I cannot say enough about Magi Azul. The owner helped with every part of the planning. Transportation to & from the airport, where to get maps, what month the turtles would be hatching, all of our questions answered well before our stay. Every detail was as promised or better. The home has a wonderful kitchen that rival most in the States (gas stove, big plus in a beach house). The pool in the front is great for kids as it has a bench on the left side running the length of the pool that allows the 2-7 year olds to stand. The house manager, Armin, is a great resource having lived on the island most of his life. His kind demeanor and helpful nature make the stay even that much more enjoyable. Armin arranged the golf cart rental, whale shark tour, and was just a great host. He also makes some of the best ceviche. My kids were able to release hatchling turtles at the turtle farm. Armin came by and took us to a beach that had a large loggerhead turtle laying eggs. Just fantastic people and a great home. Close to supermarkets and downtown. We would recommend Magi Azul to all in need of some relaxation and good times. The small details here are what makes this not just a good vacation but a great vacation.

Awesome House

We stayed at this beautiful location for our honeymoon. It was a perfect secluded location right on the beach. We have spent the last year traveling and this place is by far the best we've stayed in. It's location to the local nightlife is perfect. It's an easy ride from the fairy to the island. We were able to rent a golf cart with ease and shop the markets to cook our own meals. The pool is an added bonus. We were also able to get personal massages on the rooftop; a recommended experience. We highly recommend staying at this home when traveling to Isla Mujeres. Show up, relax, enjoy the view.

Magi Azul is our third home on Isla Mujeres, We painstakingly designed and built her with relaxation and ambiance in mind. I wanted something earthy and romantic yet with all the luxuries of modern-day living. I am happy to share the fruits of our labors with all we are blessed to serve.

Why they chose this property

If you have an artistic eye and appreciate design, you will enjoy Magi Azul. It is designed to utilize the natural ocean breezes. Even during the hottest months of the year, Magi Azul is surprisingly refreshing. Our location is perfect - directly beach front and close enough to town to walk if you like, but far enough out to feel like you are away from the bustle of downtown.

What makes this property unique

Private Balinese style pool and gourmet kitchen with restaurant grade appliances. A rooftop hammock pavilion with panoramic views of the island.
