Very enjoyable stay!

The beach club was great for the toddler and parents alike, the condo was too! Beaches, shops, restaurants all 5 minutes away, the property is very pretty and relaxing, and the unit clean and comfy.

Great Stay, Great Beach

This is a great place to vacation stay. It is very clean, well equipped including snorkeling gear, and beach chairs and umbrellas, and it’s quiet. There is a great swimming pool. But the private beach is the jewel. That beach is only 6 minutes away, and is the best beach we’ve found on the island. Good snorkeling, swimming and relaxing.

Average condo in beautiful complex

Older travellers who have rented condos on Hawaii many times. Golf Villas is a beautiful older development close to beach. Our condo had a comfy bed and a nice carpet & great breezes from the window in the bedroom. Sadly, the condo in general featured a tired, dated looking decor, badly in need of a refresh. Inside of fridge was dirty - mainly because of 21 (!) bottles of old condiments left inside to clutter shelves. Oven was dirty and one of the double sinks was grubby. Coffee maker & toaster okay but old & stained. One sink in master bath was missing the sink stopper. The patio had a nice table but small uncomfortable chairs. There was nothing to lounge on or even sit comfortably on for any time. We were unable to access the garage (our fault as we should have contacted the manager when key did not work). Beach chairs are essential for a condo as the Beach Club chairs are all taken very early on in the popular - even crowded at times - beach. Altogether an enjoyable stay in an older condo that might be fine for a small young family or a laid back couple who aren’t too fussy.

Perfect for our family

Excellent! Our family of five had a wonderful stay and loved location, amenities, and overall loveliness of the condo. Communication was great, super clean, had everything we needed or wanted and was just really a gem. Appreciated all the beach & pool gear for use. We would love to come back again soon!

Outstanding, relaxing and exceptional local assistance!

Location, furnishings, amenities, local concierge, cleanliness...everything was exceptional! Snorkel gear, boogie boards, coolers, beach towels, etc. Everything we needed for a perfect vacation. Bennett met us when we arrived and provided excellent recommendations for the Waimea farmers market and a great volcanoes day trip. We'd go back in a heartbeat!!

Golf Villas-slice of heaven

There is something about a moonset simultaneously as the sun begins to fill the morning sky from the Golf Villas at Mauna Lani. This unit is a lovely place to see both along with so many more amenities. The two-bedroom unit was perfect. Nicole, our property manager was quick to respond and support in any way needed.

Great Stay in Mauna Lani Golf Villa!

This was mine and my husband's 3rd time staying within Mauna Lani (if that tells you anything about the neighborhood 🙂)... and we had my husband's parents with us this time as well. The private beach access can't be beat! The condo was clean and comfortable for us.. and we greatly enjoyed using the outdoor grill and patio area. My husband and father-in-law also golfed the south course and enjoyed it immensely! We would definitely stay here again if we get the opportunity. Mahalo!

Family Vacation

Golf Villas H-2 offered our family everything we needed to relax and have daily adventures. The pool is close to the unit and a wonderful break from the sandy beach. The Beach Club access is perfect for families who want to chill, swim, paddle board or snorkel and enjoy a few drinks at beach club bar… bring them to your lounge chair at sunset. Being in the Mauna Lani area affords you access to the beautiful beaches of the Kohala area. This was our second visit to Golf Villas H-2. We’ll be back!

Fabulous vacation spot

Our family of five stayed in here for 10 days at the end of March 2024. We absolutely loved this location, the pool, and access to Owner’s Beach. With our young children we spent mornings at the beach and afternoons at the pool which was very clean and well maintained. The quiet location, walks around the beautiful complex, and calm pool environment was really enjoyed, especially after comparison with some of the busy and noisy beach resorts we visited occasionally in Waikoloa. The condo was super clean and stocked with everything we would need for the beach and the pool. We appreciated the convenience of dishwashing pods, laundry soap, food containers and cooler to take snacks to the beach. Anthony and Nicole were very helpful and responsive to our questions and concern when we had trouble with the wifi which was quickly addressed. We had a fantastic experience here and will definitely return!

We Extended Our Stay!

This is a nicely equipped property in a good location. The description was accurate but the photos do not do the property justice, it is nicer than the pictures show. The owner was very responsive to my questions and concerns. It is a downstairs unit and we could occasionally hear the people above, but it was never a problem for us. I would recommend this unit and we would stay here again. We enjoyed staying here enough that we extended our stay. Mahalo!

December in Hawaii

Condo was actually nicer than the pictures had us expecting. Property manager was very responsive to questions. Great time to be in HI - 10th - 18th. Not crowded at all. Most days we went to pool we were the only ones there. Beach is awesome - great place to snorkel. Sunset cruise became a whale watch cruise too! Napua is a lovely restaurant - Good food, drinks (lime squeeze!!) and such nice staff!! The upstairs condo was for sale so we think that made for more noise (cleaners and open houses) than normal. Very nice!

Unexpected

This is nothing against the Owners of the condo. But because this is a downstairs unit, the constant walking upstairs (especially at night) along with their theater system that sounded extremely loud, I feel it is a fair review. I didn't know this was a downstairs unit and this is my fault.

Over all it was nice

Communication was quick by texting or VRBO mails. We cooked most our dinners at their outdoor kitchen which is one of our rental search criteria. Walk out from the lanai you will see the change of sky colors from sunset. We brought the chairs out to the lawn area with a glass of wine to enjoy the sunset The garage has some old beach chairs, ice chest, boogie boards, but snorkel equipment marked for owner. The beach club has lots of cabanas, people leave their towels on it around 9am to save their cabana. However, the crowd thinned out after 3pm. Due to COVID there wasn’t much to do, lots stores, and tours attractions were closed, so we went for a hike on different trails every day and go to the private beach club around 2:30pm, we got a cabana to ourselves every time. One of previous reviews mentioned to bring a nice kitchen knife from home and BBQ meat thermometer. However, they now have them both, plenty of sharp knives. May be adding a few glass tumblers would be nice. The owner Anthony allow us to extend our stay for three more nights with discounted holiday rate plus a late check out for our late departure. Much appreciated! Few suggestions: The living room vertical blinds needs to be either repaired or replaced, it doesn’t fully close. The pillows were very flat, gave me neck pain every morning. Replace the couch cushions. They sink down, extremely uncomfortable. I pulled one of the dining room chairs over to watch TV. A dish drying rack would be nice to drain hand wash items. We laid a dish towel on the counter for this purpose.

As lifelong friends, our families have traveled around the world together for many years. We especially enjoy leaving the cold east coast winters to enjoy the sun and fun. Hawaii is the most beautiful place we have seen. Mauna Lani is the most beautiful place we found to relax and enjoy life. .

Why they chose this property

The weather on the Kohala coast is consistently beautiful. Year round temperatures in the low 80s and very little chance of rain. It could be cold and rainy in Honolulu but beautiful here!
The Mauna Lani Resort is exquisite - pristine and private beaches, historic fish ponds, local culture, great snorkeling, world class golf, restaurants, shopping etc. It has it all.
We are in H Building, facing the ocean, and protected from afternoon winds that could prevent use of your grill and lanai. This also enables sitting on your lanai for happy hour to enjoy the marvelous Hawaiian sunsets. You may be lucky enough to see the unique "green flash"

What makes this property unique

A private, gated, owner's only beach, is unique even in Hawaii. Two championship golf courses on site with 5 others within a short drive. Historical sites. The unique Hawaiian culture. Fish ponds. The clearest night sky you will ever see will allow you to see more stars than you ever knew existed. We strive to provide you with all the comforts and conveniences you may need.
