Cute cozy cottage

The cottage was small but we loved what it offered; quiet dead end road, cozy screen porch for early morning coffee and afternoon dessert. Water is crystal clear, easy walk in for swimming with a float to swim out & jump off. Bridgton is a quaint town with delicious ice cream.

Perfect lakeside cabin

Beautiful location with everything you could want to make it a great vacation. Immaculately clean, with well equipped kitchen for cooking. Lovely screened porch where I enjoyed coffee and meals, with a view of Highland Lake. Used the kayak every day I was there...so convenient to have this provided. Sunsets over the White Mts. from Adirondack chairs on the dock were just delightful. Easy walk into town to enjoy all that Bridgton has to offer. Highly recommend for a restful, yet active vacation.

Lovely, relaxing spot close to all amenities

We had a fabulous time on Highland Lake this summer! Our 7 year old loved all the swimming and fishing and we just relaxed all week long with some paddling, reading, and lounging in the sun. Lovely property, very well cared for, with super friendly owners who were always available if we needed anything. Wish we could've spent more time in the cute little town of Bridgton but... COVID. Great takeout options available and we did catch a drive in movie about 5 minutes away which was great fun. Just all around perfect family vacation.

Beautiful Location, Awesome Weekend, Perfect Cottage

Thanks so much Tom and Rita, we had a great time renting your cottage, over Memorial Day weekend. The cottage was so neat and clean, and so cute inside, we were very comfortable there. My favorite was sitting on the porch watching the kid’s fish, and our boys loved playing with your grandchildren. The kids can’t wait to come back. Thanks for the use of the row boat and the canoe we had so much fun! Hope to come back soon! Steve, Brenda, Tommy, Patrick and Chester!

Amazing Lakeside Cabin!!

Tom and Rita's cabin is the perfect little getaway for some relaxation. There were four of us total staying in the cabin (two couples), and we were able to bring our shepherd-mix dog along too! We traveled from New Jersey and stayed for a week. You don't need to travel anywhere to enjoy the area -- you can sip coffee on the dock, toast marshmallows by the fire pit, and swim in the lake. We loved the kayak, rowboat, and canoe. As frequent kayakers, it was a treat to have the boats ready for our use instead of having to lug our own to the lake. We also went horseback riding at Carousel Horse Farm, visited the easy trails of close-by Pondicherry Park, and drove to the White Mountains of New Hampshire for a challenging hike up Frankenstein Cliff and Arethusa Falls. We even visited the nearby drive-in movie theater, which was so much fun! On the ride home, we visited Portland for a mailboat ride around the islands. The best part of our week in the cabin was an early morning rowboat ride in the lake. My boyfriend proposed on one knee in the rowboat! With the White Mountains as a backdrop, crystal clear water, and our bright orange life vests, it couldn't have been more perfect or more our style. Thank you so much, Tom and Rita, for an amazing week in your beautiful cabin.

Hidden Gem!

We stumbled upon this cottage looking to get away for a couple of nights over Labor Day weekend. The pictures looked great, reviews were positive, and most importantly we could bring our dog, so we figured we'd give it a whirl. We are so glad we did! The cottage was immaculate when we walked in and it felt like home. The lake is awesome, and about 10 steps out the back door. It is somehow even better than it looks in the pictures. There is a row boat, kayak and canoe to use, but we just liked sitting on Adirondack chairs at the dock. Our bulldog loved walking down to the dock and relaxing with us while watching people come up and down the lake. The cottage itself has everything you could possibly need, especially in the kitchen. Pots/pans, wine glasses, silverware, corkscrew/bottle opener, too many things to list. Center of town is about a 2 minute ride, and there is a huge grocery store and a DD right down the street. Even had time for a round of golf, there is a really nice course about a 5 minute ride away on the other side of the lake. The owners are very pleasant, informative, and easy to deal with. We are already looking forward to coming back next summer!

Great Little Lake Cabin has lots to offer

I rented this cabin for the purpose of bringing my elderly father back to his hometown of Bridgton. We were not disappointed! After searching for rooms at Inns or other cottages, this one particularly stuck out to me as the perfect place to bring my Dad. It was affordable, it was close to town, it provided a land line phone that made me feel safe just in case I could not get cell phone service. (but I did have it) There were no steps to get into the cottage, a nice ramp, there was heat just in case my father got cold and of course there was a great screened- in -porch (important in May in Maine!) with a beautiful view of the lake. The cottage was extremely well kept, clean and cozy. Everything seemed brand new. All of the furniture was comfortable and plenty of nice dishes etc for use. While I did not get to enjoy the fire pit or boats with him it was a plus for me as well as knowing that it is dog friendly. The views from the dock were great, and the bench and chairs that were provided were very comfortable and safe. A place to sit all day long and look at the loons and mountains and sunset. The owners left you alone for privacy but were very welcoming and of course there if you needed them. Looking forward to going back someday!

Relaxing on Highland Lake

We had a fantastic time on Highland Lake. The cottage was better than advertised - well-stocked with kitchen tools, clean, with cool breezes off the water every night. We had fun each day ‘arguing’ about which boat to use, and enjoyed the (rapidly cooling) water as much as we could. Bridgton is a great town, and the center is a 10-15 minute walk from the cottage. Several good dinner options and a few ice cream shops were good breaks from working the barbecue. Tom and his family were great hosts - friendly and available for questions. For a small family (we visited with our 10-year old daughter), this was the perfect getaway to end this very strange summer.

Perfect lake cottage

We truly enjoyed our week at Tom and Rita's cottage. The place was well cared for, clean, and had everything we needed for a fun week on the lake. We took advantage of everything we could--the kayaks, canoe, swimming off the docks, fishing, and using the fire pit. It was all fantastic. The location is perfect. The owners are excellent property managers. They provide thorough and timely communication on policies and instructions. We were travelling amidst COVID restrictions, and they continuously kept us updated. While we were at the cottage they were always available for questions. We look forward to visiting again!

Surpassed High Expectations

This property, along with it’s owners, surpassed all expectations. Upon arrival, the lights were on, cottage opened, fresh flowers on the table and light music playing; an incredible welcome to my time away. The Cottage is nestled along the beautiful shores of a lake under beautiful pines trees with beautiful views of the lake. The dock alone with built-in seating to watch the sunsets over the lake and Mountain made for an enchanting stay. This cottage is appointed with great care. From beautiful knotty pine vaulted ceilings throughout, high quality mattresses, linens and towels for your comfort to quality furniture for relaxation. The kitchen was incredibly well appointed and stocked with any kind of cookware and prep-ware one would need. You really can’t get much closer to the water with kayaks, a canoe, a rowboat, and sailboat at my disposal. In all honesty, this is the cleanest property I’ve stayed in. Top to bottom spotless, which really makes for a pleasant stay. I woke to Loons calling, read a book to relax on the dock and enjoyed the quiet and serene surroundings. I stayed here with my Mother for a getaway. She is mobile but uses a rollator walker. She was able to maneuver quite well throughout the property. I have rented many properties on over 15 lakes in Maine for the last 20 years; this property is top on the list. Last but certainly not least, Tom and his wife were beyond professional and welcoming with hospitality that is most often lacking these days. I barely needed anything but they were incredibly accommodating when I did. We’ll definitely return.

Restful Week in Bridgton

This is a fantastic property, for a couple especially. There is plenty of room in a very clean and well furnished cabin with direct access to Highland Lake. The property owner lives next door which is a real help if questions arise but we were left alone to enjoy our peaceful week otherwise. You are provided with several boating options, we used the kayaks three times. It saves money and time that the kayaks are provided right outside our cabin. We certainly enjoyed the deck for meals and reading time and the dock is sizable with a few seats provided. Beautiful sunsets and loon sightings. It is a short drive to some really nice restaurants and 'downtown' shopping.

A Little Slice of Heaven On Highland Lake!

We can't give enough praise to the owners of this little gem of a cabin, nestled under the trees on Highland Lake. The accommodations were lovely, right down to the vase of fresh flowers and music playing upon arrival! Everything was fresh and clean. This cozy little cabin's kitchen was fully equipped, had we needed it, but we ordered lobster out every single day! A true Maine experience for us. It was a great get away reunion for two college buddies. Being on the south side of the lake provided sun on the big dock all morning until lunch. We even figured out a way to get afternoon sun by bringing our chairs out to the float in the rowboat, which we thought to be vary creative, as did Tom ;) We so enjoyed the BREATHTAKING sunsets while sitting in the Adirondack chairs on the dock. The cabin was very handicap friendly, which I truly appreciated, since I'm still recovering from a serious car accident and surgery. My one and only suggestion for improvement would be to add a grab bar and light to the stand up shower if possible. Yet this will not stop us from returning again next year, (and hopefully many more), as we truly loved everything about the place! A little slice of heaven on Highland Lake! Thank you for everything Tom and Rita! Lenore and Cary

Fell in love with the Lakes Region in 1983 while vacationing in the area. Have summered or lived here since that first visit.
